  1. it's kind of funny that sheets now has all of this pressure on him (in the clubhouse) to pitch lights out tomorrow. i like the fact that he will probably be very determined to step up. i like our chances tomorrow!!!
  2. so someone on here thought it was bushleague? a brewer fan? i'll be the first to say i like it a lot after hearing that description. funny this was brought up... i was talking about this last night with some friends/co-workers... in fact, i am in advertising and may have the opportunity to approach the brewers about doing a playoff run campaign... my idea is based on this very end of game action... the untucking of the jerseys... i think it's cooler than the run and jump hip bump especially considering the backstory of Cameron's explanation. it's pretty solid. what do you guys think?
  3. is this the night the Cards luck finally starts to run out? wow. what a game. whoever comes in, please finish this. can't take it anymore.
  4. was it all too good to be true? i'm going to say I think Not. put this away ST.
  5. not sure if that was on purpose or not, but you are correct. that was definitely an At Bad.
  6. Yes.. at least when Mota makes a mistake it is 96 and not 91 like Gagne.. also if Mota is pitching I don't have to watch: - 15 goggle adjusments - 22 hat replacements - 29 shirt adjustments - 45 crotch grabs.. Gagne gives me ADD just watching him. couldn't agree more. when we played Minn it was nice to see Nathan's presence on the mound. he pitches the ball, gets the ball back and focuses on the next pitch. and he's pretty good, too. his approach is so much easier to watch.
  7. some nice at bats by the crew tonight so far. patience on 0-2 and not swinging at anything bad. don't jinx me Hart.
  8. exactly what i was thinking. solid situation to put Mota in. bottom half. and now take him out. Duncan has a horseshoe hidden somewhere in the bottom portion of his uni. if you know what i'm sayin'.
  9. i don't want to be a downer here on a day that most of us have been waiting for... for a long, long time... but what if CC and Ben are both injured - both have a bit of a history - between now and the end of September? do we move the franchise to Oklahoma City?
  10. I didn't miss the point. We are just coming at this from different angles. You seem to be a lot more business savvy than I am, and I respect that and your viewpoint on the topic. Makes sense to me in the business sense - franchise, market size, etc. Totally understand. I wasn't talking about Mark A's net worth. I should have clarified that. I was referring to his group of investors who own the team, Mark being a part of that group. I'm just saying that I think business strategy aside, Mark A seems to be an aggressive, savvy businessman who may take a risk with the ownership's money to make Milwaukee proud by bringing back a player like Sheets who is the face of the organization. Either way, I'm excited to see Milwaukee and Brewer's fans excited!
  11. His wealth has everything to do with this business called Major League Baseball. He seems like the kind of businessman who would approach Ben Sheets and sign him to the amount of years Sheets is interested in for possibly less than the "going rate" in the league right now. This obviously hinges on Sheets' desire/show of loyalty to stay with the Brewers. He seems like the kind of guy that would sit down with Mark A. and have a conversation about more than money and contracts. I am feeling Sheets is back with the Crew knowing they want to win NOW (CC deal) with the likes of Gallardo and Parra coming back next year.
  12. doesn't Maddux want to finish out his career with his brother? why not?
  13. Not even close, Reggie was a free agent, and he played the rest of his career in GB (well except for the coming out of retirement nonsense). The Brewers will never be players in free agency until the economics of baseball change, and CC will not play a full year for the team. He's more like Rison, if the Brewers do in fact make the playoffs. true. BUT... i think we are underestimating the desire to win and the checkbook of Mark A. he has quietly spent more and more money every year since becoming the owner and who is to say if we make the playoffs this year but don't go to or win The Series he doesn't throw out a boatload of cash on the table to re-sign sheets (or CC for 1 or 2 years) after this season ends? Mark A. has the money, he just hasn't spent it yet. Cubs fans on 670 the Score asking if hendry can "block" the CC deal somehow right now... ha! and the nervousness starts to Brew in Chi-town... nice.
  14. I take it you're not a huge David Eckstein fan, then? I'd like to find out how far I could kick that guy if I got a running start. those are my two least favorite lapdogs in the league.
  15. hope i am not overlapping a thread somewhere else... just wanted to say after an extremely weird, rocky start tonight he really stayed focused and kept the crew in the ballgame. it's nice to see a pitcher mature in front of our eyes during the first half of the season. he could have easily melted down - which i thought was coming at about 4 different times in the first 4 innings - but he really showed some moxie. i didn't want to say "battle" so i said "moxie." i cheated, but it felt good. go Seth. thanks for embracing your role on the team and making things happen. seems like a stand-up, humble guy in interviews, too, which is a plus. man, imagine if yovani was healthy.
  16. not sure there was much negativity toward Gracie. sutton seems to either be bitter that milwaukee dominates the snakes or is playing the anti-brewer card for extra fox drama, which is required once hired. fontenot? are you kidding me? gross. maybe vizquel will hit one over the fence in the bottom of the inning? ha. let's go giants.
  17. if this inning goes smoothly i will be amazed. there is guaranteed to be some weirdness this inning considering what has already transpired. we can still win with some weirdness, though, can't we?
  18. if it's tied in the bottom of the 9th do we see gagne?
  19. i would go out on a limb and say they are snowbirds.
  20. i predict hart opposite field for the lead.
  21. good question. i begin to wonder about the preparation of the team when something like this happens. why do i suddenly wish rivera was at first? that's sad.
  22. if we stay within 2 for another inning we still have a shot. we need this one tonight because webb will be tough to beat tomorrow and we need to go 5-5 on the road trip before heading home... but i agree... didn't look good from the get-go... amazing we are still this close.
