  1. i made fun of all of my cubs fan friends last year when they picked up kendall. i really like jason kendall and his cat-like quickness and savvy play. i will apologize to my friends.
  2. i have this sinking feeling that was our chance to put a few on the board... heart of their order coming up... uh-oh.
  3. is prince behind in the count every AB this year?
  4. i cannot believe the cubs have colorado for 4 this weekend. talk about a sliding team on the road coming into wrigley for a slaughter. i'll be surprised if the rockies win one of those. we need to win tonight and keep on winning...
  5. Sometimes, yes. And I can't "keep looking" for Vin Scully unless the Brewers hire Vin Scully to do their TV broadcasts. But I can hope BA improves his game. I don't dislike him, but he could improve. Of course BA could improve. It's his 2nd year ever of being a play by play guy for a major league team. And by saying "keep looking" I was using a common expression that means he's not going to be an all time great announcer like Vin Scully. true. but he's pretty vanilla. he could improve by loosening up, but i haven't seen many vanilla guys change. and that's why they are vanilla. i do like him better than sutton, though. how about a run or 5 this inning guys? please make soup's night worth it... would keep the train running and the morale rising...
  6. Dodgers did score one there i think it was before the bases were loaded or no? nope, you were right. my bad. still, pretty pathetic.
  7. and once again - for, i believe the 4th time in the series? - the dodgers have bases loaded and don't score a run. crapola.
  8. braun will have the day off tomorrow with soreness in his elbow. that's ok if we win tonight. nice catch. vin scully does his homework on the opposing team and keeps it interesting. BA, not so much. i'd rather listen to the Yanni box set. not that i own it. but if i did. i would. nice play soup. watching this team play defense all summer will be very entertaining. not too much athleticism out there right now!!! wow!
  9. yes. and yes and yes and yes and yes. as much as i think joe buck is mediocre, he knows when to shut his piehole and let the sounds of the game - whether that be football or baseball - be heard. maybe he learned that from his pa. nice hit RW.
  10. as exciting as this team is with its offensive potential we will never win the big games - as in, pennant race games or playoff games - with this defense. makes me downright sad-like. and then braun looks like he is wearing either aqua socks or roller blades in left. oof.
  11. Hall upset with playing time? That's funny, I'm upset with Hall nearly every time he plays.
  12. What, like hit? let's not get ahead of ourselves. let's start with... breathing, maybe?
  13. thought the exact same thing, Tau. wish we would do that - and ton of other little things - more.
  14. finish the inning now, villy. i like the aggressiveness.
  15. didn't know i said anything about getting the call changed? because never is the answer. just show some fire. for once. please.
  16. WASN'T, first of all. secondly, i've never seen a carom like that and not sure it's that easy to play.
  17. say hello to instant replay next year, mlb fans. what a crock. and more so, why ned didn't argue and get ejected is possbily more pathetic than the changed, wrong call... what a turd.
  18. yes, please. some logic? especially considering Gwynn made the last out with two on, as well?
  19. anyone a fan of the show Intervention? apparently we are TRYING to hit rock bottom before coming to our senses. wow. any thoughts on starting pitchers instead of Tavarez? Young and his broken nose from San Diego? wouldn't mind that.
  20. anyone else think the Yount influence in the dugout/clubhouse is being missed and underappreciated now when it comes to the defense? do you think these "battling kiddos" are taking a lot for granted in the infield? i do. i think it's very possible that they have a lack of focus when it comes to the basics of playing the infield. it's been pretty embarrassing watching them the last few weeks. did i spell embarrassing wrong? that would be embarrassing. like blowing a routine double play and completely changing the momentum of the game. ouch.
  21. hopefully it wasn't travolta from "Michael." that would be too creepy, but i wouldn't doubt if that's what he saw. maybe all of that Starbucks is making him hallucinate? if so, i'm heading to SBucks right now. oh and i like the Fulham pic. Come On Fulham!!!
  22. agreed. and his mound presence was pretty solid. i know that's not as important as getting the ball across the plate, but maybe for this team right now it is more important. hope he gets a few more chances to see if he can repeat what he did tonight...
