  1. [ They were available of course and Ned was just being a bonehead. Jenkins should have been in for Mench against Soria ] They would have brought the lefty they had warming up in to face Jenks. Jenks vs LHP: .519 OPS Mench vs RHP: .596 OPS This would have been counterproductive, and would have burned a bench player to boot.
  2. [ Maybe my memory is scarred but I seem to remember Coco bailing this team out quite often when TBOW couldnt get it done in the 8th. ] Checking the game logs, I think he's only bailed out Derrick once.
  3. [ All that chart shows is how many oppurtunities the Brewer set-up man gets. Which of those guys is worse than T-bow? I'll give you Baes for Bal, even though he only has 1 BS. Rauch has a higher ERA, but that happened when he had to close some games. ] Derrick has 20 holds vs. 3 losses... While there are better setup guys out there for sure, I think his bad ERA has a lot to do with some outings where he got shelled.... ERA for relievers isn't really that reliable of a stat to go off.
  4. [ Theres not a team in baseball with a worse set-up guy than T-Bow. ] I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.
  5. [ It was an acronym actually. :-/ ] An acronym that contains a reference to a cussword is considered a cussword by us.
  6. [ not playing JJ, Prince, Estrada, and playing Mench. ] JJ = Hurt Estrada = Normal day off Mench = Jenkins sucks vs. lefties Prince = day off
  7. [ @#%$ are you doin' not playing JJ, Prince, Estrada, and playing Mench. ] I'm issuing you a warning for use of a banned word.
  8. This is sort of generic, but there's really no untouchable player in any system... Anyone could be had for the right price, even Gallardo or Inman. With that said, as far as one-year rentals go, I generally would be hesitant to give up a top 10 of the P50 for a rental... I'd probably be willing to deal off a Brent Brewers for an Adam Dunn, or some other top-five potential FA.
  9. You can get bluetooth adapters for your PC pretty cheap off of ebay: search.ebay.com/bluetooth-adapter
  10. LaPorta can't be a PTBNL until 6 months after he's signed.
  11. According to our trading post guidelines, we don't allow bumping of threads here.
  12. This thread violates the trading post faq: Television or radio broadcasts cannot legally be distributed without expressed written consent of their originators, so we cannot allow them to be sold here. Gotta shut 'er down...
  13. Please Ned, don't put out your "B game" lineup just because it's Sunday.
  14. [ Are you doing these "magic number" image searches game by game, Brian, or do you have the next 81 ready to roll? ] They're game by game. Gotta keep it real.

  16. After further review, Doug Jones is right.... the magic number is: http://neststudio.typepad.com/photos/morphe_ii/eightythree.jpg
  17. What is the magic number in baseball? "the Magic Number for a division-leading Major League Baseball team is simply 163 minus the number of wins the first place team has, then minus the number of losses the second place team has"
  18. 163 - 42 - 39: http://www.lbjsports.com/images/Hall_of_Fame/82%20Ricky%20Overton%20Lamar%201974%20touched%20Up%20W.jpg
  19. [ Hardy's gotta be hurt. There's no other way Counsell gets the start over Hardy against a LHP. ...Right?? ] It's a safe assumption, considering he left the game early on Wed...
  20. [ I guess I just don't quite get why Counsell's hitting 2 when Weeks is hitting 8. I thought the idea was to get your better hitters more at bats, not fewer. Ah well, I guess it's not a big deal, just another little thing about Yost's lineups that eat at me. ] The point was to keep the pressure off Rickie. He's not going to bounce him up to 2 for a day just to drop him back off at 8.
  21. [ That said, do big league teams even care about the attendance numbers of their affiliates? I mean, the big league club doesn't see any of that gate money, do they? I would imagine they are much more concerned with the current facilities, and attendance is just an afterthought. ] The Brewers don't care about the gate... They care about their players being happy, and that means facilities.
  22. Somebody set us up the bomb.
  23. http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2007/06/rated-rookie-tee.jpg I'm so getting this. http://www.uncrate.com/men/style/tees-polos/rated-rookie-tshirt/
  24. Part of the reason the Brewers picked up WV as an affiliate was to get out of the cold weather and into that brand spankin' new stadium. I would be surprised if the Power and the Brewers parted ways.
  25. [ Maybe he can hit 100mph on his fastball, but he never felt like learning how to pitch. ] No, he just has bad command.
