  1. so when does he play with Braun and PF? ] He pretty much purely pinch hits.
  2. [ I think Wells is a bad example to say "worse" they are performing about the same. Wells' OPS is .001 lower than Hall's, however Wells has more hits, scored more runs, driven in more, stole more bases and struck out less. I know there isn't much of a difference in numbers, however Wells' situational numbers are slightly better than Hall's. ] Ok, if you're going to pick nits, Mike Cameron, then. Do you really need me to go find you several examples of 2 month slumps?
  3. [ So apparently it's not alright to even vent on this board without being criticized for you opinion? ] The venting thread isn't immune to discussion.... If you're going to put an opinion out there, it's open to criticism. You're going to need to be able to handle that. [ And streaks don't last over 2 months. ] Why not?... It's happened before to several players. sports.espn.go.com/mlb/st...d=a&pos=cf In fact, Vernon Wells has _worse_ numbers than Billy this year. [ If you guys are so happy over Hall's performance this season, head over to the silver lining thread. ] This is a pretty flagrant mischaracterization. No one here is "happy" with Bill Hall's performance this season. Many of us just believe there are players going through worse slumps, and we should just ride it out.
  4. [ Ned's line-up. Holy Crap, he actually moved Estrada down. ] Yeah, I finally found his cell #. Sorry for the delay.
  5. [ God @#%$. ] Even in the venting thread, cussing is not allowed. Always make sure you check your post if it has any unsavory words in it to see if our cuss filter was applied to it.
  6. [ But he couldn't get the final out! I would rather have brought in someone out of the bullpen, if for no other reason than the chance that he would get a strikeout. Whether it was Cordero's fault or not is irrelevant, what we really needed was an out. ] Why does someone other than Cordero have a chance at getting a strikeout? He's got the best stuff of anyone, and it was ON tonight. No one throws harder, and no one's ball has more movement on it.
  7. [ Come on Ned, do something! ] Maybe a bomb threat to stop the "momentum".
  8. [ Yet the fact remains that Cordero gave up FOUR RUNS! You can't allow your closer to give up four runs without taking him out of the game! I don't care who you replace him with, even I could pitch that well! ] I'll take the dude with the 0.60 ERA giving up seeing eye singles and lucky whacks at balls outside the strike zone vs. any other arm in my bullpen any day of the week.
  9. [ We've scored 3 or less runs in 16 of our last 24 games, and the pitching is to blame? I didn't know we had the kind of staff we could expect to have a sub 3 ERA. Throwing the pitchers under the bus doesn't do justice to the ineptitude of the offense in this awful stretch of games. ] A .730 OPS with RISP this year is probably the biggest problem. The good news, is that these kinds of things generally even out. The bad news, is that there's no real way to "trigger" a change in this stat.
  10. [ with the last one being hit right where the 2b should be playing, but he was moved over towards the middle giving up the whole right side. just stupid ] I'm not sure what shift they had on and whether it was appropriate or not, but let me say that when the shift works, you generally don't notice... when it doesn't work, it's obvious.
  11. [ When your closer is pitching this poorly he needs to be taken out! It's like Yost is completely unaware of what is happening on the field! ] He would have needed to have someone who he trusts more than CoCo warming up in the pen. Given most of those hits were cheapies, I don't disagree with his logic.
  12. They will be. I believe our graphic artist was just hoping that more requests would come in so he could batch them all up at once.
  13. [ Say Brian, when you were going through the "bargaining" stage, did it ever get so bad that you were willing to give up your soul to the forces of evil for a Brewer division title? Because I'm worried I might be tempted to do that when I get to that stage... ] The devil said that even he couldn't fix what Sal Bando did.
  14. [ Well, denial is the first stage of grief. Most of us are on the second stage: anger. I think you're just a little behind the rest of us... ] I moved into acceptance in 1996.
  15. [ doesn't that pretty much take all emotion out of watching games? whats the point of watching if you're not going to have some kind of emotional feeling towards the game? I don't buy the, "oh well, we lost a series to the worst team in baseball and oh well, we lost one heartbreaker of a game" sure we have a lead in the divison, but these are the games that can pad that lead and we are blowing them. ] I don't think it takes the emotion out of games. Until all 27 outs are made, you're still cheering for your team to win. Personally, I let the losses roll off me and feel good when they win. Taking your revenge out on RBI Baseball to right the wrong is always a good form of therapy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But this is the venting thread, so I digress.
  16. [ By the way, I put together that Nashville post during the Texas Ranger 9th inning -- did I miss anything? ] Other than the end of civilization, no.
  17. http://www.derok.net/derok/images/sports/implosion.jpg
  18. [ I don't really want to kick Ned in the face, I guess... ] But if Ned happened to get kicked in the face by someone else.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. [ However, he tickles us with these outings enough to give him chance after chance. ] He's been scored on in 7 of 29 appearances (24%). Of those, 5 were on 0 days rest. I'll take my chances with TBow over the vast majority of NL relievers.
  20. [ Now the real question...why can't Sheets pitch more than 7 innings? The heat, the blister? Yost wanting to stay consistent using TBow in the 8th and Cordero in the 9th? I would hope Ben would want the ball in the 8th inning when he has a shut out going? ] I'll say the heat... He looked pretty uncomfortable sitting on the bench, but that's just a total guess.
  21. http://www.b00mb0x.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2006/04/utter%20filth%20cover.jpg
  22. [ Fair enough. Ned can stay to coach another day. I still stand by my pictures though. ] My subpoint being that the kneejerk reactions by us fans never take into account the things that we aren't privy to.... just to head off some future panic off at the pass...
  23. [ What the heck? Sheets is only at 100 pitches, and he is pitching a shutout! What is happening? What is wrong with Ned Yost? Sometimes I want to kick him right in the face! ] Like I said earlier in the thread, the word from the booth was that Sheets looks as though he said he was done.
  24. [ If Turnbow is brought into this game for Sheets, Ned Yost should be fired immidiately. Don't even wait for the game to end. I'm not even kidding. ] Word on the street is that Sheets said he was done. Still feel that way?
