  1. Abernathy has played 2 positions in his major league career... These are best case scenario depth charts for him: LF: Lee, Gross, Hart, Abernathy 2B: Weeks, Hall, Abernathy, Cirillo (and it's really a toss-up between these two, depending on the need of offense vs. defense). Barring injury, I don't see how the team carries him.
  2. Occasional one-lining is OK, but I think what we have a problem with is serial one-lining.
  3. There are other ways to help people form better arguments than to "jump" them. If someone makes an error or bad assumption in a post, it doesn't take that much effort to handle it with class. There's no reason to sacrifice quality, but at the same time, we don't have to be jerks about it.
  4. [ Just curious, how does archeiving threads work now? Will threads be moved once they fall of the front page, or will all IGT's just be left here from now on. ] When a forum reaches 20 pages of threads, the oldest fall off the "back end". So, when we get around 18 or so pages of IGT's here, i'll move them to the archive. At that point, we'll more than likely need an "In Game Thread Archive 2" forum, as we're already at 18 pages of IGT's.
  5. [ I've got to say, I'm not a big fan of this new forum at all. I doubt that there will be as many posts and it just doesn't feel right. I'm for having it the way it used to be. ] We've move the threads here for a few reasons: 1) It's easier to see if there are new posts in the Major League forum, or simply updates to the game threads (which some people aren't as interested in). 2) It's far easier to archive game threads now, as they're easier to find. 3) There was a rash of one-line posting in a lot of the major league forum topics. We're trying to keep those a little cleaner, and not be as affected by the one-line posts in the game threads. Saturday day games are usually slow for IGT's, especially during pre-season. I'm confident that we'll be seeing the same traffic we saw last year as the regular season starts.
  6. Someone should write up a feature article which compares Spring Training stats to regular season stats, showing the % of players whose S/T stats are significantly better or worse than their regular season stats.
  7. [ Anyway Cruz's shot was enormous. That was the coolest Hr I have ever seen in person. Towering beyond belief. ] He's a man amongst boys. If he could just cut down his K rate a bit, he'd be a monster.
  8. [ Nelson Cruz needs to be on this Milwaukee Brewer baseball team on opening day. That's it. Done. Enough said. ] Why? So he can rot? The boy needs to play every day, particularily, getting his reps in CF.
  9. Brewerfan.net is proud to be an OOTP 2006 affiliate. If you're planning on pre-ordering or ordering OOTP 2006, use this link to order. If you're not familiar with the game, follow the link anyway and see what it's all about. I wouldn't pimp out a game unless it's worth it.
  10. I'm getting a little nervous about Turnbow. I hope he's not turning back into a pumpkin. He's not a location pitcher, so i'm really expecting him to pick up the pace pretty soon.

  12. [ Did anyone that watched the game see the error by Prince? I didn't get to see the game but see that an error was charged to him. What happened? ] He went to throw to 2nd, and totally airmailed it. It was obscene.
  13. [ He was on steroids. ] With a fastball below 90, they must have given him the placebo steroids http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. [ Is it safe to say Ben Hendrickson doesn't have a future with the Brewers? ] Maybe it is time for a change of scenery for lil' Ben. I just don't get it. He mowed everyone down on his way up (including AAA), and then after getting rocked in Milwaukee in 2004, just fell apart. It's gotta be mental, you'd think.
  15. Wow... Demaria for Justin Barnes might just be DM's "Ray King for Doug Johnston".
  16. Cirillo would be a tremendous color man. EDIT: BILL HALL WINS GAMES
  17. I don't see fighting, gaming, or hard working right now.
  18. Can anyone give me a recap of the BF love?
  19. [ Can I say yet that Dana will not be with Milwaukee? He sure is playing his way out real fast. ] I think it's a safe assumption now. I really didn't think he had a chance to break with the club anyway. Better let him work out his spring kinks in minor league camp and force his way back into the rotation from Nashville. He may stick around for another game or so, but it looks like Dave Bush would have the inside track.
  20. [ Where did you find that lineup? ] JSOnline has this great new sportswatch feature on their main sports page, which kind of acts like a blog. They've been putting starting lineups on there every morning now.

  23. www.cafepress.com/bfdotnet.50011686 Let me know if there any other existing designs you might want to purchase on a black t-shirt.
  24. Hey Bill, Jay Payton wasn't an A's offseason addition.
