  1. Please keep topics about a particular game in the IGT.

  4. fox 6 will have the news conference ... fsn also said they will carry it
  5. Watching Fox 6 news, and Yount is confirmed to serve as the bench coach
  6. I would be delighted if Davey Johnson was offered and accepted the job as well. I think he's committed to Team USA though, and is really enjoying that role.
  7. Battlestar Galacitca The Shield
  8. If Bill Hall were to K 10x in a row or Gagne would give up 3 bombs in a row, would it be because of a lack of production or a lack of effort? I don't have a problem with fans booing their own players for a lack of effort (I wouldn't boo them, but there's no excuse for a lack of effort). If Gagne leaves 3 pitches up in a row, I don't think it's because he's lazy or doesn't care. If Hall K's 10x in a row (which I don't think has come close to happening), is it because he's just swinging for the fences or isn't seeing the ball well? I wouldn't go far as to call booers "idiots", but I think it should only be reserved for serious lack of effort (or Gary Sheffield).
  9. Maybe some players DO thrive on proving their fans wrong, but given the quotes we've seen from our players, we know that this isn't the case. I think some people, including yourself, are arguing that it SHOULDN'T be a problem. I agree to some extent. But it is, and therefore what we as fans have the power to do is not make it worse.
  10. Maybe Braun's more thick-skinned than Hart. Dunno. Yeah, maybe they should "sack up", but simply stating that's the case doesn't make it so. Again, to them, perception is reality. The main point is that there is no good outcome that comes of booing, while we know that there is a negative outcome of booing, apparently... right or wrong. So why do it?
  11. Look at it this way. The Brewers have a hard enough time signing decent players. Most people here agree that Corey's one of the players the Brewers should lock up to buy out a FA year or two... Is he going to be more likely to sign a deal if he feels that the fans are supportive, or if they're not supportive? I can understand that point of view that some players might be too thin-skinned. I disagree with it, but it's certainly a valid viewpoint. That doesn't matter, though. What matters is the players' perceptions of it. When it comes to feeling supported, perception is reality, no matter how you slice it. Again, people certainly have the right to boo, but when we here players coming out and feel like it's getting to them psychologically, it's fairly obvious to me that it IS having an impact, even if we feel it shouldn't.
  12. The huge difference here is that we're having a conversation here and a sharing of ideas, not a one-way conduit of disapproval being showered down simultaneously by thousands of people.
  13. Can someone just simply tell me what positive impact booing your team at home has? I hear a lot of things like "it's my right" and "they deserve it", but what are you actually trying to do here?
  14. My bank, Guardian Credit Union, pulls the same crap. And to top it off, they'll toss in "scheduled maintenance periods" at like 5:30pm where my debit card ceases to work... cuz you know, no one needs their debit card at 5:30 pm.
  15. I guess I'm just astounded to why fans boo their team, if their desire is for the team to play better. Is it as if someone gets booed and said "well, I thought I had an OK outing, but the fans didn't think so, so now I will improve?". Honestly, I think this is just a case where people can't control their emotions, and no matter how you slice it, there IS a negative impact on the players. Maybe they should be "tougher" or whatever, but the reality is that they have a problem with it. So do what's in YOUR power to help the team, not harm it.
  16. For the love of God, don't use Guardian Credit Union.
  17. I agree with TH that it would smack of panic. What would be more appropriate would be for an established player to pull a "Ryan Braun post-Fenway" if we're looking for some sort of media quote jolt... I'm not sure if it would help, but I don't think it would hurt.
  18. Oh yeah... and don't make any checks out to "Brewerfan.net", make them to "Brian Kapellusch". While I'm looking to form an LLC to get all of the tax benefits of a business, my bank's not set up for that now and they gave me a hissy fit when I tried to deposit an advertising dividend check of $2.18.
  19. The idea there was probably that Gwynn could beat out a double-play ball. It didn't work out, and it wouldn't have been my choice, but there's logic there.
  20. I disagree... Despite the fact that Yost reports to Melvin, that's definitely a Mark A call.
  21. You can spring for the "WOAH SOLVDD Deck" we construct at Miller Park.
  22. Wow, the weird thing about Coffey this year: Home: 2.57 ERA Away: 15.19 ERA Sample size of just 19.1 innings, of course, but that's just bizarre. Pretty "meh" claim.
