  1. For the last week or so, it seems like every train that rolls through town is laying on their horn non-stop, no matter what time of day or night it is. Anyone else who's living in the area hearing this? It's making me crazy.
  2. Tie goes to the longer message.
  3. I guess I don't see the problem here... if you look in your cookies folder, there are a TON of sites that do this... pretty much any site that has any marketing component. It's one of the reasons why Google doesn't cost money to use. I think what people fail to realize, is that these services are absolutely free, and to maintain that business model, they have to stay afloat with advertising, and targeted advertising. I guess someone could come along and make a search engine that was funded on a subscription-based basis and wouldn't log anything and wouldn't leave any cookies on your hard drive... but who would ever pay for a search engine these days?
  4. I don't think a sample size of 1 has all that much bearing...
  5. The offense is struggling right now, especially with runners in scoring position, but honestly, I don't think there's much in the way of upgrades out there. I fully expect some of these hitters to get hot soon. Outside of maybe a relief pitcher, I think they should stand pat.
  6. I guess it would be interesting to see how the gold standard of classy fans, Cards fans, react when the Cubs come into town. I guess it would be my dream for Brewers fans to be revered like Cards fans.
  7. Jose Guillen is like eating at Old Country Buffet. At first, it seems like a good idea... but after a while, you want to puke.

  9. I was just giving you crap, you know.
  10. The workaround is before you quote text from another website in a box, hit a bunch of carriage returns and paste the stuff before those carriage returns. I'm not sure if I'd call it a "bug", but more of a side effect of the GUI editor Yuku uses. It is annoying tho.
  11. If only there was some way to look that up...
  12. You can browse through an anonymous proxy without too much effort. There are plugins for Firefox that make this transparent.
  13. Check out this article written by a Cubs fan this morning.
  14. Kotchman: .775 OPS Teixeira: .902 OPS That's a pretty big upgrade, I think... and the career differences are about that big as well.
  15. That's right ... the second I saw that clue as well, I thought "Jaws" because it's shark-week on Discovery. Unfortunately, my familiarity with the movie is minimal.
  16. Sorry for the one-line post, That is EXACTLY how I felt yesterday.
  17. Looks like a conspiracy theory website to me... "spooks" ... "peddle their corporate assets" ? Seems pretty objective to me. I looked at their 8 points where they try to demonize Google, and honestly, it's a joke. They log all IP addresses and dates and times? That's just normal web usage statistics. By that rationale, people should start a Brewerfan watchdog site. I have no vested interest other than the fact that I use Gmail and Google Reader... two things that I could do without if push came to shove. I think now that Microsoft's been taken down a peg, people are scanning for the next "big brother" unfairly. I'm all for competition and innovation, but I don't feel that Google is sending the world to hell in a handbasket.
  18. He's extremely close to his career norm OPS... Seems to be just as advertised. Yeah, he botched that play in the lights, but his range has been a huge asset.
