  1. I can only hope that the Brewers are able to scratch out a couple of runs against Ed Wade's big mid-season acquisition.
  2. Congratulations! Baby Ducks AND an engagement.
  3. Pizza, cake overload, getting beaten to death with pool noodles by my nieces and 1st place. All and all, not a bad 31st.
  4. And a happy birthday to you too, Patrick! We're having a pool party, a pinata, and Topper's. Hopefully the crew can pull it out and the Cubs can choke for a perfect day!
  5. Tron 2 Bootleg Trailer http://teaser-trailer.com by dragonball-movie OMG.? TRON 2 WITH JEFF BRIDGES.
  6. I'm assuming the comment was related to Bowden holding out for WAY too much when he could have dealt Cordero and got a decent return this winter.

  12. Kendall should just give Pujols a "wet willy".
  13. Away from Coors he's hitting .255/.291/.391 Beware of Park Effects
  14. http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/8300/killercz4.jpg Just recently discovered Tech N9ne... I'm not really big into hiphop these days, but this CD's a lot of fun.
  15. I'd actually rather have Gwynn than Gibbons, but having both is fine as well. Other than the fact that they hit from the left side of the plate, they're two very different players.
  16. Dunno, I've heard the "right way" attribute applied to Durham in the past couple of days as well. In fact, it seems like EVERY time a player is traded, the new team indicates that they player they received plays the game the "right way".
  17. I would definitely stay away from C++ if you're doing web development. C++ is pretty much a dying language, unless you're dealing with desktop applications, and even then, it's losing ground. In order of importance: HTML CSS JavaScript Flash (if you need custom animation that you can't get from a pre-existing product) C# or VB.NET or Java (if you need back-end programming) It might also not hurt to have some SQL skills if you ever want to work with databases on the back-end, but I'd stick with HTML/CSS/Javascript first. You don't want to get in over your head right away.
  18. I guess you could run to 3rd instead of 1st when you hit the ball. But seriously, when I hear "playing the game the right way", I'm assuming they're talking about smart baserunning, hustling when appropriate, and protecting the plate on 2 strikes. However, in my opinion, it's a label often applied to players that suck.
  19. I think to some people, it's the idea that having that new player in the organization forces people to look the other way about their production in order to use them. I'm not saying that's what will happen, but if there's a downside to the signing, that would probably be it. The only reason I'm ever really down on a minor league signing is if it's blocking a prospect. Otherwise, have at it.
  20. Finally got around to reading the initial article: What opportunity is he trying to take advantage of? Hitting "rock bottom" so that the only place to go is up?
  21. So basically, they're: - Paying extra money - Getting a bad pitcher - Losing a marginal pitching prospect from an already decimated system ...for no draft compensation.
  22. What's the advantage of trading a prospect, which might help you in the future, for a lost cause?
  23. That remark comes off as very condescending.
