  1. Why aren't they doing that right now for games that they know will be sellouts? (for example, when the Cubs come into town). Supply and demand of course is very simple economics, but baseball is NOT just any other business. Owners have been given a gift to be allowed in MLB, and they have a certain responsibility, I feel. If the Cubs are so hard up for cash, maybe they should just try a bake sale.
  2. I'm assuming that Ned's been trying to get Bill some at bats in general, because he probably isn't going to figure things out on the bench.
  3. If your child is crying at the top of his lungs during quiet hours at a campground, do not allow that child to just cry it out.
  4. I wish Carlos Zambrano a speedy recovery ... sometime in October would be acceptable.
  5. Well, considering that catcher is a premium defensive position, perhaps the AL should have 2 DH's ... I mean, it's already so hard on them to squat behind the plate for the whole game... and considering shortstop is also a premium defensive position, we should allow a DH for them as well... we shouldn't expect them to spend all that time fielding, and then try to hit the ball and run the bases. Maybe we should just use "ghost-men" altogether.

  7. We're not sensitive. We're emo.
  8. Jamie, get the crocs. Don't believe the haters.
  9. Clue #4 - is 52 years old
  10. I PM'd you and took back the strike ... but if you feel that you can sit and taunt the moderators and get all hotheaded with other users, then you've got the wrong message board.
  11. Personal attacks and name-calling towards other posters are not allowed at Brewerfan.
  12. Rickie's callup, Prince's callup, and a fair number of other call-ups... I do recall scooping some of the other outlet on a few trades as well (acquisition of Ginter is one I can think of off the top of my head). Although this is definitely a fan-driven site, we have very good relationships with the minor league clubs, and family members of players who frequently pass information along to us. I don't claim that we scoop the other outlets more often than not, but to say that we don't pass along insider information is far from correct.
  13. I got my croc knock-offs for 10 bucks...
  14. I've updated the link on the home page ...
  15. Wow, stay classy, TH. Some day, that attitude will bite you in the ass.
  16. gps is a wonderful thing (I use tomtom) ... you don't always get notified of road closings (especially temporary ones), but you can block off part of the route, and it'll re-route you in the quickest way possible.
  17. I do own a pair of crocs. I wear them around the house and out in the yard all the time, as they're really comfortable and easy to slip on/off. However, if you see me wear them in public, feel free to punch me in the face.
  18. I'll try to explain it... When you go see a DJ at a show, it's not like you're at a traditional concert ... The main purpose is to dance. The real talent is the beatmatching and reading the crowd to see what kinds of things will make them dance harder and go crazy. Also, I'd say that, conservatively, 50% of the people are probably on drugs, so it really doesn't take much to get the crowd amped up http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Correct! Gregg Gillis known by his stage name, "Girl Talk", rocks the stage with just his laptop.
  20. I think it's just misinformed speculation ... I suppose if the Mets offered up Brian Schneider for free, I'd consider his defense an upgrade over Rivera's offense, but even that would be a toss-up to me.

  22. Rewarding. THE LEGEND OF MICKEY TUSSLER reaches the heart the way Alex Rodriguez reaches the bleachers." - Bill Madden, New York Daily News "Not just a baseball masterpiece, but a clever, delightful, touching tale that is a triumph of imagination and empathy. THE LEGEND OF MICKEY TUSSLER is Roy Hobbs meets The Rain Man." --Father Tom Hartman, Good Morning America's God Squad " The baseball elements really sing; baseball fans will find much to appreciate, while the sports treatment of triumphing over adversity adds crossover appeal to the YA market." --Publishers Weekly The Legend Of Mickey Tussler An utterly heartbreaking and moving baseball novel that is being celebrated as THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME meets THE NATURAL. The Legend of Mickey Tussler "In my work with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America I see all kinds of challenges facing kids today, and this book does a very good job of treating gifted kids and teenagers with sensitivity and understanding in coping with and meeting these challenges." --Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees Seventeen-year-old Mickey Tussler is recruited to play for a minor league affiliate of the Boston Braves in the 1940s. Arthur Murphy, a scout and coach for the minor league Milwaukee Brewers, swears that Mickey is a phenom- one who has the greatest arm Murph has ever seen, that anybody has ever seen. And it might be true. But Mickey is also autistic, before autism was given a name, and his Aspergers keeps him sealed off from a world he scarcely understands. But Arthur wants to take the chance. The minor league Brewers have had one of the worst records in baseball history, and he needs to do something to shake the team up. But can Mickey survive? Tormented by the memories of an abusive father and heckled by fans and teammates alike, the odds are stacked against him. But his inimitable talent -- one of the most gifted arms in the history of baseball - just might give him a chance. Can he survive a real life dream? Or are the harsh realities of life too much for him? This is the powerful underdog story of how a young man with an extraordinary gift comes of age in a harsh and competitive world that may not be ready for him. www.franknappi.com
