  1. CableCARD is different from a TV Capture card. A TV Capture card is a card that fits in a slot on your computer's motherboard. CableCARD simulates having a set top box, so that people who have TV Tuner cards that can read CableCARDs. To my knowledge, there aren't many TV Capture cards out there that support CableCARD. An alternative would be capturing output from your set top box by some kind of capture card that has an HD input... I'm not sure if those exist.
  2. That's about awesome as awesome gets.

  6. The Angels are wanting to trade Juan Rivera for rotation depth. We're all full in the corner OF, but even for 2M, he'd be a great RHer off the bench.
  7. I gotta think it's going to be a Gross/Kapler/Gwynn free-for-all with Kapler getting waived/released once Cameron gets reinstated. It could very well be Gwynn getting the starts, since Gross off the bench might actually be more beneficial.
  8. It's cool, but if it were in my house, it would freak me out every day.
  9. Why doesn't he just bite the bullet and get TJ? Frankly, the Cards won't compete this year. There's really no reason for him to try to eek out another season with a bum elbow right now. He should get it done, and get strong for perhaps next year.

  11. That was just an example. You actually use songs that you have on your hard drive to generate courses.
  12. Installation's a bit of a pain if you've never used Steam before, but it's worth it.?
  13. Honestly, I think that's a misconception, though. Even the biggest stathead will not disagree that there are skills like "leadership" that aren't quantifiable, but add value. The problem is saying "Craig Counsell's leadership is worth an extra 1M a year"... since it's not quantifiable, there can't be that much of an objective discussion about it.
  14. I know, but it could mean the difference between this site existing, and ceasing to exist.
  15. I've hidden all messages that reference sopcast.com. While sopcast.com is a free and legitimate service, rebroadcasting something that you don't have the rights to is illegal, and we won't be supporting that here.
  16. You know, that's the thing I find sort of amusing. I wonder how many people who wish Brewerfan ill will have actually bolstered our site through driving people to our site. It's sad that there has to be animosity between message boards, because we're all Brewers fans, and there's really not that many of us compared to other teams.

  21. Unless you're truly in a position of power, doing this type of thing never ends well. I've worked very hard to never burn any bridges in places I've worked, and it's definitely reaped dividends. You can't fight city hall.
  22. Obviously, this is my favorite site because it caters to the type of conversation I'd want to have surrounding the organization (and baseball in general). My point is just that there are other types of conversation that people like as well. Some people think that ANY moderation is unnecessary. Some people like to use message boards to act differently than they would in real life, and that suits them. It's a horse a piece. We have our own problems here with sometimes being to clique-y, and I do give more lenience to members that have been around at least a year or so, because I think they've earned it. Honestly, I'm all for having even more Brewers communities. The more Brewers fans that feel more comfortable to have a place to call their home, the more Brewers discussion there will be. And that's always a good thing.
