  1. No, that would have been illegal. The point is, I find it trashy, and I'm sure other people do. If you don't share that opinion, it doesn't make you a bad person or anything, but as a result I haven't watched the Fox News Channel since then (and I had been a heavy watcher to that point, as I enjoyed their morning show).
  2. I guess if I was a parent and my kids were watching the weather with me at 7am and asked "What's a Penthouse Pet", it would be a tad uncomfortable to say that they're women who get naked so that lonely men could satisfy themselves. But then again, I'm old-fashioned that way.
  3. I just got done sending this feedback to foxsports.com: I just read the Kevin Hench article that references Rocco Baldelli's medical problems. I stopped watching Fox News in the morning because a Penthouse Pet was doing the weather. Now, Kevin Hench chastises Rocco Baldelli for a legitimate and serious medical problem. How did this make it past the editors? I am no longer visiting this website, or watching Fox Sports on TV. I will also be encouraging the thousands of users at my website, Brewerfan.net, to boycott Fox Sports as well. Unless Hench comes out with a serious and genuine apology, or better yet, is no longer writing for Fox Sports, I will simply have to follow my beloved Milwaukee Brewers on the radio or via other means. I know that this is probably insignificant to whomever is reading this, but know that medical problems like these affect MANY peoples lives. To treat them with sarcasm only makes the pain that these people are enduring worse. Brian Kapellusch President Brewerfan.net So, I will encourage you to at the very minimum, boycott foxsports.com and their advertisers. I'm going to do my best to not watch FSN Wisconsin and just stick with Bob and Jim for my broadcasts.
  4. I run into these kinds of people all the time. My wife just had her ACL repaired, and I drop her off at the door of the grocery store. She gets dirty looks. She has to be humiliated by riding a motorized cart around the grocery store, only to get stared at because she's able to stand up and take a step every now and then to grab something off a shelf. Oh, she must just be LAZY. I know that there are people out there who see things through their own little narrow point of view and never had to deal with any real trauma in their lives, such as an endocrine disorder that manifests itself in bizarre ways, but it doesn't make me any less angry. Kevin Hench is an absolute disgrace. If I can find a feedback form on Fox Sports, I'm going to gladly tell them that while he's employed, I won't ever read a single page on their site.
  5. I had a hunch it was that book. I read it last year, and didn't eat meat for 3 months as a result. It really has opened my eyes quite a bit though.
  6. I've always called it the Grits/Hashbrown line, but admittedly, the two do coexist on the menu in the South. Yeah, I've never understood what people like about grits. Maybe I haven't had them done "right". I'm a hashbrown guy all the way.
  7. Honestly, I don't know if the Marlins would be interested in paying 2.55M for a bottom of the rotation starter. Jacobs has very little versatility, and because of that, isn't that attractive as a bench player. Especially considering the other guy who plays 1B is a lefty.
  8. I'm passing this info on that I received from XM radio in my inbox today: Major League Baseball fans endured the winter and each of their team's offseason transactions - good and bad - and have had a chance to check out their team's 2008 make up during Spring Training. As the weather begins to heat up so does XM Satellite Radio's MLB coverage. From Opening Day through the World Series, XM, the official satellite radio network of MLB, has fans covered -as they broadcast EVERY GAME, EVERY TEAM, EVERYWHERE. As the countdown to Opening Day begins, here is a list of what XM has on deck for all MLB fans: "Play Ball!" Channel What better way to kick off another year of "America's Pastime" than with an amazing audio tribute to the historic game. For 48 hours leading up to Opening Day, XM Radio will broadcast 412 songs about the sport, 27 songs about players, 7 dramatic readings of baseball stories and various classic calls of historic plays - truly an audio euphoria for every baseball fan. From March 29-30, fans will hear non-stop classics on XM Channel 120 such as "Take me out to the Ballgame," "Casey at the Bat," and the Shot Heard Round the World. Complete MLB Coverage - Every Team, Every Game, Everywhere XM will continue its complete coverage of Major League Baseball by nationally broadcasting every game in the 2008 MLB regular season and playoffs where fans can stay connected to their favorite teams through their local play-by-play broadcast. In addition to play-by-play broadcast, XM's MLB line up includes extensive programming with XM Channel 175, "MLB Home Plate," offering baseball junkies in-depth analysis, baseball talk and fantasy tips from respected baseball personalities such as Buck Martinez, Charley Steiner and Kevin Kennedy - 24 hours a day. On-Air Talent Predictions With a combined sense of background and knowledge on the subject XM personalities including Charley Steiner, Joe Castellano, Holden Kushner and Ronnie Lane offer their respective predictions for the 2008 season in every major category including: Division Winners, Wild Card Winners, Cy Young Winners, MVPs and Breakout Performers of the Year for each league. Most importantly, they have selected the Pennant winners and World Series Champion with the NL's Chicago Cubs as the most popular pick to win the World Series. XM hasn't given me anything to post this message. I am a current XM subscriber though, and I have to say that the baseball coverage alone is well worth the monthly XM fee for me.
  9. I agree with Kat. Don't go down the road of having to learn HTML when this is sort of a "one off" thing for you. It'll just lead you to more frustration than you need.
  10. Exactly... Just keep subscribing to more RSS feeds, and soon you won't have to worry about filling that gap in time.
  11. In all honesty, I'd see a psychiatrist. The mind/body connection is huge, and there could be a psychological component as well as a physical component. Psychiatrists are probably going to be a lot more patient with you as well, as it's less of an assembly line profession. And if they don't diagnose you with anything, then it's at least something else to rule out. Good luck, man. I'm no stranger at all with dealing with doctors, so I know how tough it can be.

  13. This is a bit trashy for the site. Locking this thread.
  14. That's the combination I use too. Now you just need to start using Keybreeze
  15. I use it quite often, and it makes life a lot easier for me. I'm able to quickly go through items, tagging ones I want to read later. There's also a nice plugin for firefox which tells me how many items I haven't read yet.
  16. Hey Guys, I'll probably have all of the t-shirt designs online by next weekend.
  17. Pedro, just wanted to say that your generosity is astounding!
  18. The Brian Roberts rumors are being discussed in this thread.
  19. Yeah, my wife has been suffering from adrenal insufficiency for the last year and a half. It's pretty much wrecked her ability to stay healthy or do pretty much anything for an extended period of time. It's also really a pain to describe to the countless ER triage people and nurses that we've had to deal with as well. I'm not going to pretend there aren't worse things to go through out there, but it's just seriously bad news, and to people on the outside looking in, she just looks to be lazy. I hope Rocco the best of luck and hope they find a treatment that gives him a sense of normalcy and stability.
  20. Ross, I'm going to ask in the future that all threads relating to your t-shirt designs be limited to one thread in the Trading Post forum. If you have a new t-shirt design that you'd like people to know about, feel free to post it there, even if you're just bumping it.
  21. This isn't a bad topic for debate, but to start a thread I'd ask that you put a little more meat (apologize to Prince Fielder and Toby) in a thread-seeding post. Maybe expound on it by comparing Vargas and Capuano to other bottom of the rotation starters, etc.
  22. Team in Training A co-worker of mine is putting together a Brewers outing to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. The Brewers have a deal where they will sell discounted tickets to charitable causes/organizations to help with fundrasiers. Anyhow, the organizer of this event wanted me to poll the crowd to see if people were interested, and out of the below choices, which date seems the best for people. Tickets would cost normal face value, so if you were planning on going to these games anyway, it's a way to support a great cause and to catch a game!
