Johnson has experience in the outfield, Weeks has none. While, with practice, I think Weeks could handle the outfield, you're sort of compounding the problem by having him learn a new position, IMO.
The problem, according to Braun, was his footwork getting to the ball, which threw off his timing throwing. Yeah, as whizkid said, you don't want to throw a thousand balls to 1B a day. I think it's a great idea...
I always thought Barrett was at least average, defensively. I think his baserunner issues were sort of exacerbated by the power-pitching staff in Chicago. Plus any enemy of Zambrano is a friend of mine http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
It's really interesting to see the amazing dropoff Michael Barrett had in 2007. Does anyone think he was maybe hiding an injury a year before free agency? If so, it seems like he's really underrated right now.
There was a night where we almost didn't have 10 players... I'm not adverse to adding a 2nd team, but I'd hate to see us have to forfeit a game because we spread ourselves too thin, with vacations and all.
It's actually not a lot of extra work, but we're pretty anti-new-forum around here, just to keep things manageable. I wish Yuku retained the feature EZBoard had where you could have an Icon for your post (like a Question mark or an Exclamation point, which we could customize). Perhaps if we just enforced a rule that everything had to be prefixed with "RUMOR: " or "PROPOSAL: ", it would make it easier on the reader.
What's bugging me is that I'll never get back the 2 & 1/2 hours of my life that I just spent watching Transformers. I rented it, against my better judgment. What a big bowl of crap that was.
What does he actually DO? Does he actually do, like, work? Or does he sit and flip through IT magazines to learn buzzwords? If you told me what this guy made, I could sort of figure out how important the job was, and how much a replacement would cost.
"It's just like fishing. You're going striped bass fishing. You've got birds on top and you follow the birds. Where the birds are, the bait fish are below that. Below the bait fish are the striped bass. That's what you want to do. That's how you want to do your lineup. That way they can't escape. That's how I try to make my lineup out so the opposition can't pitch around this guy or that guy and that guy and can't escape. You try to get them in the crossfire."
Wayne Krivsky as GM and Dusty Baker as manager. Maybe they'll sell the team to Peter Angelos, tear down Great American Ball Park and then salt the earth so that there's no illusion to Reds fans.
I like how Mase sports it better: http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0002QO4J0.01._AA240_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg He's not afraid to go with the new-school cap.
I would love to give Prior a try. I don't know if this team is going to get anywhere by throwing out the Bush's and Vargas's and Suppan's of the world. I think this infield defense needs K's out of their pitchers in a serious way, and Prior's the type of guy who *could* do that.
