  1. Wait until the season ends, and see how things work out. Ned Yost shouldn't be fired during the season. The no-hitter wasn't probably his fault directly (lineup, batting order, etc.), but nevertheless, this is his team. They are his players who he has been grooming and coaching for a number of years. He picks the coaches that work with these guys on a daily basis. He manages everything baseball-related about these 25 players for about 8 months of the year. Ultimately, how they perfom reflects heavily on him. He should be embarassed by what transpired tonight. The approach at the plate by many of his hitters was pathetic, and that falls partially on his shoulders. Not only did Verlander toss a no-hitter, he demolished his previous career high in strikeouts. There is talent on this team, and they have been very lucky with injuries so far. So those excuses are no good anymore. Again, we do have a winning record and lead the division, and he deserves credit for that. But things look bad right now, and if we miss the playoffs after a 24-10 headstart with a talented club, Yost needs to be replaced. It's difficult to determine and point to all of the exact correlations between a manager and a team's success. Even so, this is his team, and it's time he is held accountable for how they perform.
  2. Ned Yost, and the entire Brewers organization ought to be embarassed and ashamed. This team is pathetic.
  3. With his 4 hit night, Johnny Estrada is on the verge of getting his OBP up to .300!! Really though, a lot of our "lower end" hitters (specifically Counsell and Graffanino) have really brought their stats up to respectable levels during the past couple of days. Good to see.
  4. 6 runs on 20 hits!! Let's see if we can set some kind of single game record for hits-runs differential!!
  5. I've never seen a team so bad on the road and so good at home. I have. The 2006 Brewers.
  6. 6 runs on 18 hits? You've got to be kidding me...
  7. And the irresolution of practically everything else. The Kevin Finnerty stuff continues to make zero sense, those mistakes Bobby made in his first hit earlier in the season that they were so sure to point out to us? Totally forgotten. I don't know. I kind of like when everything that happens doesn't fit neatly together, or happen solely to drive the plot forward. I also like misdirection. It keeps things interesting.
  8. I'm not really sure yet how I feel about the ending. I've probably got to let it sink in and think about it some more. Strange ending though, to be sure. Like Brett said, things in life usually don't end with tied up loose ends and definitive conclusions. So, in that regard, I guess I kind of like and respect the way they ended the series.
  9. Let's win one, for AJAY's sake. After last night's rant, I don't think his blood pressure can handle another loss. Hang in there buddy! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I'm glad this game isn't on TV. I'm going to watch Sopranos tonight, and try to forget the Brewers even exist.
  10. This is the 1000th post in the vent thread and the silver lining thread only has 58, something is wrong with that. We're 9-19 over the past month. What did you expect? You can only say "Braun looks good" so many times in the silver lining thread, but there have been a million-and-one things to vent about when it comes to this team.
  11. That's impossible. The Cubs are only 5 games back. Normally, this would be an easy set-up to make a joke about how the Cubs can make impossibly bad things become possible. However, after blowing a 99.4% chance of victory last night, I don't think Brewer fans have much to laugh about right now in that regard.
  12. Time for me to take off from watching the Brewers. I take these losses to personal and have to back away for a week to clear my head. I was considering jumping down an elevator shaft, but I might try your approach first instead.
  13. I really want to see what this team can do fully healthy. This is about as healthy as you can reasonably expect any team to be in the middle of June. We've been very lucky as far as injuries go. The team we've got out there now is about as good as it's gonna get, although I'm not sure that's really much of a silver lining...
  14. Just looked at the standings, and we've now given up exactly as many runs as we have scored during the season. The first official signal that our talent is nothing more than that of a .500 ballclub. Woohoo! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/1195460/2/istockphoto_1195460_exploding_bottle_of_champagne.jpg
  15. I agree that there is no way you take Cordero out. But how do you let him give up 4 runs without even making a mound visit to calm him down and try to slow down the Ranger's momentum?
  16. I moved into acceptance in 1996. Say Brian, when you were going through the "bargaining" stage, did it ever get so bad that you were willing to give up your soul to the forces of evil for a Brewer division title? Because I'm worried I might be tempted to do that when I get to that stage...
  17. I'm convinced RyDogg is just being absurd tonight to send us all into a tizzy and amuse himself.
  18. Come on, we got 7 hits in a pitchers park vs. a good pitching staff. I don't know if you're trying to just mess with people tonight or what, but Texas is 13th in the AL in ERA, and Arlington is a hitter's paradise.
  19. When I lay down for bed in a little while here, Im going to bed with a smile on my face, imaging this team has just won their 10th in a row Well, denial is the first stage of grief. Most of us are on the second stage: anger. I think you're just a little behind the rest of us... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. The rluzinski disciples dont view the season in small, meaningless samples such as one game or one series. The season is a totality of all the games. I'm with jason21nl on this one. I like to watch games and care about all of them. It wouldn't be as much fun to just open the newspaper in October and see whether or not we made the playoffs. I know that's not really what you're saying, but still. To each his own though, I guess. The trick is to keep it all in perspective I suppose, whether it's an individual game or the entire season.

  22. I already pooped my pants, and it wasn't out of joy. Not a good situation.
  23. Did we really think Cordero would be perfect all season in Save Opportunities? You're right. Now that you mention it, I'm pretty happy we blew a 3-0 lead with 2 outs in the 9th.
