  1. Seriously, why are we even bothering to have Hart and Gross on the major league roster? Maybe when we call up Braun, he can rot on the bench too. Counsell, Graffanino, Gwynn, and Mench can continue to play every game, and then all the pieces will be in place for a completely craptastic offensive linuep.
  2. Good thing somebody on the team still know how to play some D.

  4. All the talk about the lineup....the bigger concern is Capuano. Well, there is not a whole lot that can be done about that. Cappy's not throwing the ball very well right now. It's unfortunate, but we're not going to pull him out of the rotation over it or anything. He'll get it together soon hopefully. Ned's absurd lineups are totally avoidable, however.
  5. Seriously, some people are just ridiculous tonight. Hardy's been able to hit ok, but he hasn't been feeling great for a few days. If he's out it's probably warranted...And Bob just noted that Ned wanted to give JJ 2 days off. My problem isn't with giving JJ a couple days off. It's Gwynn AGAIN over Gross (this is especially annoying since Hardy is sitting). And it's Estrada continuing to bat 5th.
  6. You are probably correct. They might not even get the bat on the ball. Is that your standard for a good lineup? Because it's not mine. Mine is putting the lineup together that gives us the chance to score the most runs.
  7. Tony Graffanino: Hitting like a pitcher, fielding like a rookie
  8. Yost's lineup tonight is indefensible.
  9. A blister?? Man, why didn't Sheets work out more during the offseason?... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Anyone that thinks the Brewers will be caught by the end of this month is silly Dude, it's really not necessary to be calling people silly, stupid, or idiots in every other post.
  11. I'm not sure why you're comparing him to CV anyway Seriously? Those two guys are the options for the #5 spot. Why wouldn't you compare them to see who's the better option? that's not what was being debated in the first place. Sure it was. Re-read the thread. The whole topic came up because we were discussing the benefits/drawbacks of having Villanueva in long relief vs starting.
  12. Cordero is completely dominant. Big win today! Now, let's get Weeks back and Braun up and start another big winning streak.
  13. That's ONE start of 8. In those last three starts I mentioned, he's had a WHIP of around 1.00, which is great for a pitcher. Well, his career WHIP is 1.44, and that's an even better indicator than the 3 starts you keep mentioning. Fortunately, even after today his end result is better than the guy that we traded for him, who has actually been even more lucky to this point. I'm not comparing him to Doug Davis. I'm comparing him to another starting pitching option who is on the team right now, Carlos Villanueva. I think Villanueva would be a much better starting pitcher.
  14. Yeah, how dare they look at the actual results..... With all due respect, he's been getting very lucky this year. Remember that game against the Astros where they loaded the bases against him 3 straight innings without scoring a run? Like Ennder said, there is very little chance he can sustain those results if he keeps giving up all those hits and walks. I think Villanueva is much more likely to give us better production as a starting pitcher over the course of a full season.
  15. Whew. Glad to see T-Bow straighten up after that leadoff walk...
  16. Quit trying to pull everything Billy!!
  17. The only negative to that is we wouldn't get him to help us in long-relief to hold leads in the 'pen. Agreed. For a "long middle reliever" he's actually been used in a lot of make-or-break game situations. Even so, it'd be sweet and more useful to have him starting. As long as Vargas continues to keep his numbers respectable though, it's probably not going to be a justifiable move in Ned's mind.
  18. Nice job by Villanueva, as always.
  19. Hey, Shouse is up. Maybe we can wait until Torii Hunter comes to bat, and then bring him in.
  20. Wow. Alright Jenkins! Now, let's take advantage of this reprieve and salvage a game from this series.
  21. This is not a good time for Vargas to turn back into a pumpkin.
