1. They'd most likely name Sveum the interim manager and the Brewers would be even worse off. That's pretty much the main reason I'd definitely keep Yost until the end of the season. The other Brewer coaches are as dopey (if not more dopey) than Yost, and share similar baseball philosophies, so I don't see the point. If you're going to make a change, bring in a whole new staff. Preferably guys that aren't so locked into "traditional" thinking, and know how to use a stat sheet or scouting report that looks further back than the past 2 weeks.
2. Cubs heating up. Brewers are ice cold. I love the Brewers and hate the Cubs. Seems like a recipe for me becoming very sad and angry.
3. At least we still have 5 innings. Against this staff, anything is possible. 6 solo homeruns by Fielder won't be easy, even against this staff. Although Soriano had 3 through 4 innings for the Cubs. That just makes me remember how good the Cubs offense can be, and how small our lead over them has become.
4. Just got home, saw we had 1 run, and figured it was probably a Prince solo homerun. Turns out my guess was right... Also, remember when Capuano was good at pitching a baseball?
5. Whoever did this has mad Tecmo skills...
6. BREWERS OFFENSE <span style="text-decoration:underline">OPS</span> <span style="text-decoration:underline">NL Rank</span> Overall .764 5th RISP .731 14th Same story. Different year.
7. The Brewers have re-learned how to win!
8. Yay! Corey Hart! I don't even care that he's batting 8th. I'm just happy to see him in there.
9. 2007: 28-22 2006: 26-24 The Brewers are two games above where we were at the same time last season. I know we were playing over our heads early in the year, but I was kind of hoping that would turn out more like a "head start" that we didn't have to give back. We were 14 games over .500 two weeks ago. I never imagined we'd squander almost that entire cushion before the end of May. Same thing, year after year on these west coast trips. I'm incredibly disappointed. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

11. Branyan! Power vs Power. Can you imagine how far a Branyan HR would go off a Turnbow fastball???

15. Enough with these asinine shifts!
16. We're lucky to have constant complainers like those in the IGT today. Man you guys are great. Must we always look at the worst possible situation? Cheer up, its only a game. Please don't tell people how they should feel about the Brewers struggles. It's rude and annoying.
17. Good thing TGJ "rarely" stikes out! Gwynn's "rare" strikeouts remind me of a scene from Seinfeld: Newman: Parcels are rarely damaged during shipping. Jerry: Define "rarely"... Newman: Frequently.
18. Tony Gwynn Sr. played in San Diego...Blah Blah Blah...Now Gwynn Jr. is here...Blah Blah Blah...This is so special, who cares we're losing and that TGJ actually sucks...
19. Well, that makes 2 starts in this series for Gwynn, and none for Hart. Awesome, and well deserved. I like it when lineup and leadoff spots are divvied out based on combination of sentimentality and imaginary hot streaks. Also glad to see Estrada in the 5-hole again.
20. Well, keeping a nice lead in the NL Central is kinda important, don't you think? It's very important, obviously. But it doesn't really excuse the poor play of late, and like he said, eventually it will catch up with us if we don't turn things around. This team was 14 games over .500 just 2 weeks ago. Now we are only 7 games over. That's a monumental nosedive. We've been pretty lucky that many of our division foes have been losing too, but that's not going to be the case forever...
21. The transformation of Vargas into the pitcher we all knew he was is now in full force. His ERA is already over 4, and his WHIP is over 1.5 for the season. And that is with the help of all of the good luck he's encountered this year. The time to trade him is now, to a team that will be fooled by his currently respectable W-L record, and decent ERA. All of the other young guys are up. We might as well just bring up Yo, and sink or swim with the young guys. No room on this (IMO) team for guys with career numbers like Claudio Vargas, especially when you have pitchers like Villanueva and Gallardo ready to go.
22. That throw by Braun didn't end up in the dugout. Woohoo!
23. If you had told me that Hardy would have 15 homeruns at the end of the season, I would have been satisfied.
