1. I just did a 360 F-Bomb. Why is Hall trying to pull EVERYTHING???
2. Well, you can't say this hasn't been a fun game to watch.
3. Bush and to a lesser degree, Vargas, most certainly have value. I bet the Yankees would like to have either one.
4. Sounds good to me. And I don't even have anything against Bush. You just can't keep Gallardo down much longer. He's been pretty much amazing. And Villanueva is waaaaay better than Vargas. Having him in long relief is sort of a waste, although he has pitched some meaningful games in that role. I just don't want to wait until it's too late with Vargas, and he starts finding his way back to an ERA near 5.00.
5. Sheets Capuano Gallardo Suppan Villanueva
6. Alright! Down 7-0, time for the solo homerun show to begin!
7. I'm sure Billy will hit a meaningless double and homer to help his OPS for you stat heads I think most everybody agrees with you that Billy Hall needs to step up and start hitting better. Nobody has been satisfied by his play so far this year. I think you're battling an imaginary foe right now.

9. Well, there goes the whole "Bush gets better as the game goes on" theory I had.
10. Dave Bush (2004-2006) Opp. OPS Inning 1 .851 Inning 1-3 .793 Inning 4-6 .695 Inning 7-9 .550
11. Anyone else think that Bush might be better in a bullpen role? I think he's a little better SP than Vargas, but if Vargas were actually skipped and everyone else (including Gallardo) pitched on regular rest, the bullpen problem would be solved. Off the top of my head, I seem to remember that Bush's worst inning is the 1st inning. Historically, he usually get stronger as the game wears on. I'm not sure the bullpen would be a good move for a pitcher like that.
12. I'll go back and take a look on DVR, but I sure haven't noticed anything from Maddux that was 5-6 inches off the plate and called a strike. They sure look that way to me. I might be a little bit biased though... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
13. The strike 3 pitch to Weeks was right on the corner, a perfect pitch. No question that was a good pitch and Weeks deserved to get rung up on it. Have to protect better than that with 2 strikes. I agree that Weeks needs to protect the plate and swing at that pitch with 2 strikes. Still, I think it was off the plate. And Braun was quickly dug in a hole by a couple of pitches that looked like they were a good 5-6 inches off the corner.
14. Telegraph Road - Dire Straits Great tune, IMO. One of Knopfler and Dire Straits most undervalued songs.
15. Boy, the strike zone during Weeks and Braun's at-bats would have even made the late Eric Gregg blush.
16. Gwyyn is on fire right now, what is wrong with playing the hot hand, once Gwyyn cools off and comes back down to earth, then play Hart, but until then, play the hot hand... Over the past 7 days, Tony Gwynn Jr. is 6-for-23, with no walks, and just one extra base hit. Can we please stop the madness about him being on fire? It just isn't true.
17. Actually there's a whole thread about it. I figured it had to be on here somewhere. Just couldn't find it though.
18. Not really an article, but pretty sweet regardless. Haven't seen it posted anywhere else. www.peeyourpantsforthebrewers.com
19. Somebody email that to Doug Melvin and Ned Yost. I can't wait to hear what they would say. I'll save you the time. Here's what their answers would be: Melvin: "We didn't sign Graffanino and Counsell and pay them all that money to sit on the bench." Yost: "Graffanino is a battler. He's been battling up there. He's been hitting the ball well, but they just haven't been falling in for him. We're not going to change anything we're doing."
20. I wouldn't put Braun in the #8 spot in the order. Wouldn't he just be semi- pitched around to face the pitcher? Which would maybe cause him to press and swing and miss at bad pitches. I'd love to see Braun in the 7-hole when he gets called up. By the way, I'd like to throw another BOOOOO!! out Tony G's way.
21. Because if Bill Hall can't track a ball in CF, how the heck is he going to do it in right? It's a pretty well accepted notion in major league baseball that RF is much easier to play than CF.
22. Nothing quite like having a Left-Fielder in Center, with the organization's best Center-Fielder watching from Right Field as the Center Fielder blunders Yeah. That's another thing that completely annoys me about this lineup. One of Gwynn's biggest selling points is his defense, and that is negated by putting him in RF.
