  1. I can't believe that just happened...
  2. Wow. How big are those 2 runs in the top of the 9th? Come on now, let's close this out and get the W.
  3. It really wasn't even a decision worth thinking twice about in my opinion. I disagree. Sheets saying he was done is one thing. Obviously in that case, you take him out. But guys with shutouts go over 100 pitches all the time. I hadn't really considered the heat though, which is a fair point. Even so, guys throwing 110-115 pitches in heat isn't really that crazy.
  4. It's really nice to see Graffy start to hit like himself again lately. He's been pretty good the last handful of times he's started. True that. I know he wasn't going to have an OPS in the .500's very long one way or another, but I bet Braun relieved some of the pressure that came with trying to hit like an everyday 3B.
  5. Johnny "one pitch", "pop out" and "GIDP" Estrada. Is that too long to become a nickname?
  6. Sweet! I like getting hits and walks and runs.
  7. Whoa. Crazy what can happen when the #5 hitter can actually take a walk...
  8. My subpoint being that the kneejerk reactions by us fans never take into account the things that we aren't privy to.... just to head off some future panic off at the pass... I'm just half-kidding around anyway. I don't actually shriek in horror when T-Bow enters a game, and I don't really want to kick Ned in the face, I guess... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Whew. Glad we got Dr. Jekyll tonight.
  10. Word on the street is that Sheets said he was done. Still feel that way? Fair enough. Ned can stay to coach another day. I still stand by my pictures though.
  11. What the heck? Sheets is only at 100 pitches, and he is pitching a shutout! What is happening? What is wrong with Ned Yost? Sometimes I want to kick him right in the face! http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2007/05/30/ZaasBA6q.jpg = http://www.fotosearch.com/comp/ART/ART141/POP002.jpg
  12. If Turnbow is brought into this game for Sheets, Ned Yost should be fired immidiately. Don't even wait for the game to end. I'm not even kidding.
  13. No need to tempt fate with TBow tonight. Well, Bill is making it sound like Ned is looking for danger tonight.
  14. I guess I fall in the category of not liking the guy very much because I enjoy watching TGJ play. I like his punch-and-run style, his defense, and his ability to cause havoc on the base paths. With the amount of homeruns the Brewers hit, I'd really love to see more guys who can get on base so we get 2 or 3 runs on a HR instead of just 1 all the time. I don't care how fast they run or anything, because a lot of our offense is going to come via the homerun so speed doesn't really matter. This offense isn't really built to be a "small ball" type offense.
  15. Regardless neither should start the best OFers we have are Hall, Hart and Jenkins. As Brett said, I don't think many people would disagree with that. Most Gross supporters just don't like seeing him lose playing time to TGJ.
  16. I'm sorry but for all the people who are Gabe Gross backers, what is your rationale? He doesn't seem be allergic to taking a pitch or a walk, which is rare on this team.
  17. He's working his way back from a blister he had a couple weeks ago. That's too bad for him. He was pretty much guaranteed to set a career high in strikeouts.
  18. Why did Texas take that guy out? Wasn't he completely fooling our hitters all night? Did he have a high pitch count, or what?
  19. My prayers are also with all of those involved. edit: Removed content after reading moderators requests.
  20. Whoa. Check out the hottie sitting behing Melvin...
  21. Apparently if you hit a home run and there's a runner already on base, the baserunner also scores. So some home runs are worth two, or three, or even four runs. Who knew?! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif So true.
  22. Good thing Hart was kept out of the lineup for almost a month in favor of TGJ and Kevin Mench!
