Plus Chad Patrick . Everyone forgets that guy . I keep calling him Taylor for some reason and I watch him more than most. So there is something that mentally blocks you from remembering the guy but he is a starter ready for work this season too.

Henderson , Patrick, Misiorowski, Myers, Gasser. We have more than enough waiting to move up to cover for lost pitchers. I think they will find away to keep Woody again even if he has a good 2025 I do not think he makes himself unaffordable but we do not even know if he holds up through it all so I am not counting on him for anything beyond 2025 anyways.

I love that you love our chances in 2025! WE need more of that!

I liked him as a bullpen long reliever. He gets into trouble a lot starting . I do not know how he moves forwards but I think Bullpen must be where he sticks. I know they want starter from him but he proves that starting is hard for him . Bullpen work looked like his place last year. Starting might not be the best option here. Ashby was great out of the Bullpen and was not great as a starter since before the injury. We all see it in him. Even those of you who gave up on Ashby see the talent. He could be the most talented pitcher the Brewers have had move through here who has not stuck in a place. I still love Ashby as a pitcher and am one of the rare fans who have not given up on him. I think he has a lot of baseball ahead of him still and like seeing him pitch. However being realistic must be the way to evaluate and he has just been better as relief vs starting . I am willing to give him one more actual shot at starting though. If this time it falls to the same end as it always has to this point then Bullpen has to be the move permanently made with Ashby.

As for other ways .. Reddit links are still VERY available each game. As long as you run a VPN there is no need to pay for baseball. Especially Spring Training. I say if you want the most reliable coverage during the season it is best to pay. Before the season however there is no reason to be paying to watch fake baseball . Though Yoho did pitch an Immaculate Inning yesterday. You are telling me Carlos Rodriguez belongs on the 40 man and Craig Yoho does not ? PLEASE! Watch the games this year ! We got a shot to beat the Dragon this year!

yup and that is why I hate that draft. The magic of the NFL draft is no matter the outcome of the previous season you can change your franchise fate with one draft class and it happens instantly . Just look at the Washington Redskins. in 2023 they were a joke. With one draft class that hit on a QB the team almost made a Super Bowl run in 2024 . I also hate including money into the draft. Swiping players who have already been drafted by others makes it kinda a big joke like the MLB is with money in general . I get why you all have reasons to like this system because you all have taken the time to understand it as much as you can understand a MLB draft that is. I am glad you guys are there to fill us all in when it goes down because it takes a very committed fan to understand the MLB draft mess. If not for you guys like me would be lost . So keep up the good work . The NFL drafts trates too. The difference is they draft grown men while the MLB is drafting prospects who have miles to go before they can ever establish if they can ever make a profession roster. The long term nature of the MLB draft makes it less fun for me and it also holds back the magic that comes from one draft changing a teams fate. That is a magic of drafting completely lost on the MLB and its the best part of any talent acquisition. It is also why I prefer drugs to drinking . Instant gratification. lol . ( I kid)

I am glad you think this because if someone did not think like you there would be no balance in the fanbase. LOL . Thanks for posting. I respect your list and it was well put together and I understand your liking it but it just is not my speed. As for me who really gets into scouting the NFL (before this Brewers team took my heart and forced me to love baseball again) ) I see a huge mess that is next to unscoutable and every player drafted is miles away from helping the Club so it is almost uncomparable in my eyes. What you see as a fun challenge in money management I see as a horrible way to add players for a roster for both parties. So much is uncertain for the player and even being drafted by a team does not ensure you are going to that team at the end of the day and that's nuts to me. I can see why you like it though. The fact following the draft takes a Masters Degree makes it less fun to follow Vs the NFL for me at least but as a scouting junky in the NFL for most of my life I get the draw to evaluate young talent and following them into pro sports is very fun for me in the NFL so it has to translate to the MLB for some fans like yourself. I really do get that part. I am super glad you can follow it though because I sure cannot and I watch a lot of college baseball and still cannot follow the MLB draft model enough to understand it completely. Teamwork even at the fanbase level makes for a better franchise ! Go Crew! The NFL draft system is superior for me because of how well it has been developed to make it more digestible for people to involve themselves with the process. Plus getting college All22 film is miles easier than scouting baseball prospects. I also like the value system and the defining end to the pick being where he was drafted by a team instead of the player getting MLB drafted and getting sniped by another team with money managing techniques. I like the late rounds and the UDFA process better too. However the amount of good players who get left out of the draft due to its lack of rounds is a knock against the NFL draft. It misses talent more than the MLB for sure. The Belichick Long Snapper statement is lost on me because I see massive value in late rounds and undrafted rookie free agents who have made Packers rosters over the years. Guys like Sam Shields and Tyrone Williams all came from that part of the draft and became all time great Packers. Bart Starr was a 15th round pick all those decades ago. There is no world competing for the same prospect pool in football like there is in baseball . The Global market in baseball makes things exciting but is also a reason the draft is not as meaningful as it is in the NFL. The biggest reason the NFL draft is better is those players help these teams day one . In Baseball no matter where they are drafted those players won't be helping this team win games that year so it makes little to no difference for a franchise. The NFL a draft can flip a teams fait in one weekend. In the MLB no matter how good these prospects are they are just that. Long term developmental players who have a long time before they ever help the team win games if ever. It takes to long to see results . That is my biggest issue with the MLB draft. either way I appreciate your conversation and I love that someone is paying attention on your level with the MLB draft so I know it is covered well. Go Brewers.

We think of Sal as a tough guy because he plays like a guy who has robot legs. He also wears biggest outfield glove worn in baseball hands down . It is like he wears a 8 month old baby on his catching hand when outfielding. It makes him special and I love his giant glove. Whatever it takes to bring Golden Gloves home each season( I bet he wins 10 Golden Gloves in the MLB before he is done!) We also hear a lot about his Hockey play time as reasons for him being that tough. (YOHO just struck out the side like a BOSS! ) WE tend to forget that Sal was a 5 star recruit in football too. He had a free ride as a Running back for BC if he chose to go that route in his career. If he had not chosen baseball we would already be seeing him on Sundays.

I trust the system more than the player in this situation. The Brewers are more than talented enough at developing players to leave this topic to them and see it play out. He is platoon player because of how people see him defensively. So he won't be that guy everyone thought he would when he finished his 1st season in AAA as rookie of the year at least here in Milwaukee. He may take to a new team like a glove and come out and hit career .300 for another franchise but I do not see that kind of career for him starting here. Here the best of him will be a rotational player who fills in against Lefties pitching and never a game to game starter in my opinion. I personally am a Tyler Black fan. I like him. I see a good player in that weird caveman looking guy. I am not convinced the Brewers see it the same way as of March 1st 2025 and that is also Okay. Time will tell but to say the Brewers are blowing it is a bit of a reach because they seem to know what they are doing with development in players . If they keep him or lose him this topic is well over talked about. Tyler Black will happen when he happens. He is not a key to winning. He is just a guy and with a minor league full of Dudes his spot here is growing less valuable than it was when he was a rookie of the year in AAA. The Brewers since getting Black have stocked up the minors in a way few teams ever have in the modern era. So the path to the MLB got muddied for Black because of this.

You and Rhys Hoskins both feel that way. Hoskins wants to keep playing so another down year would not help him there much . We all want Hoskins to be a lot better and I believe with another season away from recovery we can see Hoskins with a better season.

where are you watching this game?

And that is the Misiorowski show in a nutshell.. .

That is fine . I tend to believe That the sudden change happened when Managers flipped sides. Tyler Black has not fallen out in play much he just is not well liked by the new guy in charge and was a darling of the previous manager. The difference is Managers seems like the big tipping point for Black to me but I get why you all do not want this to be true and have your own ideas for what the situation is. I understand your point of view but tend to see it my way on this one. I can have that opinion even if some of the other people( not you) who post here do not like that opinion and what is great about conversation is you can also hold your point of view and both of us can get along after that . You know? Adult conversations. . Those other posters on here do not understand LIKE Vs Dislike concepts in forums. Dislike is not something you do for simply disagreeing with another person. You see they do not understand that disliking a post should be ONLY if you offend the person personally , or you are posting off colored jokes that can be offensive to some or calling a person out personally online in front of everyone. So many people here see something they do not want to see or that they simply disagree with to the point they dislike someone else's post .. This is how spoiled children act in conversations not adults. You see you posted and I disagreed with how you see this topic and I did nothing to sully your name or reputation and I certainly did not dislike your opinion because as an adult I know that you and I can have independant ideas about a thing. I believe(as do most adult Americans) in Free Speach and conversations. There is a group of folks who post here that have the mentality of the Reich when it comes to open conversations in this forum. I appreciate you are not one of those people! I much better to let open topics flow freely and if you disagree do what this poster did . Posting is about conversations not about smearing anyone you disagree with like many who haunt this forum. If you disagree with a post then tell me why you believe something else on any topic and that is how conversation works and I appreciate you for doing it right! Those people who post here and love to drop DISLIKES on things they disagree with on topics of OPINION were probably the most spoiled children of the group. Thank you for not being them.

Dunn starting at 3B….Are you cool with it?
jesusoftheapes replied to Scooterfletcher's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
YES ! I am cool with it ! While Dunn had an interruption in AA -AAA giving him less time down in AAA than some believe is enough time by being moved to the Brewers like he was and when he was moved that to me does not mean he cannot start at 3rd and excel there in 2025 . The injury issues he had in 2024 held him back and his cold start when he was in Milwaukee was not the vision of him as a player we all wanted right out of the gates but I think we can throw 2024 out the window and still be very excited for what Dunn can do here. Dunn has all the tools we need from 3rd and he is a good defensive player with a better arm than Joey O and a better bat . We saw Joey have a hot month last season and nothing after that since. I fear we got a moment in time when Joey was playing way above his ability and is not carrying a .280 bat or anything close . I think Dunn can bat near .280 + and give the Brewers 20+ home runs from his time at 3rd if starting as long as he stays healthy . I also think that Dunn being at 3rd is not the end of the world if he flops there. WE have plenty of backup plans in spades here. From Durbin, Ortiz and even Sal we have more than enough buffer to see if we can get the best out of Dunn at 3rd . He is much to talented not to try him there . He could be one of the best 3rd basemen in all of the game with the tools he brings . I say give the guy a shot there and let it play out. -
Finding the interview from that would take a reviewing of the entire game . . I will do this later and post the interview so you can get clarity and understand why people say Pat Murphy hates Tyler Black. I have to watch a game we lost last season just to prove a point here? I am going to do it just for you so you can be a more informed fan who knows the interview and what was said. I think your blind faith that this is not the case is hilarious though.
-
well you cannot quote a dislike and it needed to be said . Here is a quote. Pat Murphy, the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, has publicly stated that he is "hard on" Tyler Black, " criticizing him when he makes mistakes more than other guys here" and says "some guys get better coaching when you are mean to them" - Pat Murphy from dugout of Padres series /6/22/2024
-
You who are all hitting dislike because you did not hear Pat Murphy say these words yourselves are really really hilarious. He said it and that is just the truth. Pat does not like Tyler Black and said so on camera. I do not understand why the fact he said these things makes you so unhappy when they are pointed out? Kinda funny though.

After Sal, Turang and Chourio . Black was touted as the next big prospect to be coming up after them and it is not even up for debate . That is how he was being sold to us with Craig in charge. When PAt took over Black went from next big prospect to come out of that group to the guy who won't be helping the Brewers anytime soon. It is pretty obvious that the entire way the Brewers want to promote Black has changed 180 degrees under Pat. I mean if you did not hear the Tyler Black hype train before the 2024 season started you were not listening. It was very real and very much the next player we were supposed to see make the jump and that has not happened because his defense is that bad. They are starting Hoskins at 1st! The idea that Black is worse than that is a laugh. Hoskins has always been a - defender at 1st his entire career. Bauers is a little better at 1st but Tyler Black is no worse than these players on defense and people need to stop saying this over and over again like it is the truth because it is not. Tyler Black does not have a massive lack of defensive stats in the positive nor does he carry a massive amount of personal errors beyond anyone in his situation at least and is being talked about as if he is incapable of playing defense at all when its not the player I have watched. Tyler Black is not going to win Golden Gloves but he is also not as bad as Rhys Hoskins or Jake Bauers are on 1st base defending. You can argue about it all you want but the Tyler Black hype train was real right up and until Pat Murphy took over in charge . Now he is a guy who may never see the field in Milwaukee for any real amount of time. Pat hates the guy . That is his prerogative as manager to like and dislike the players he wants on his roster. I have 0 issues with Murphy putting the prospects he likes together and washing out the prospects that were the previous Managers favorites and not his own.

Caleb Durbin Hitting home runs is the best possible thing to happen this Spring. If he gets hot it answers a lot of questions.
-
well that is no fun. No fun at all !

Does anyone know if there is any teli on the game today? I see it no place anywhere and I can usually find these hard to find spring games on Fubo but no dice today. Anyone got any tips for viewing?

watch the interview Murphy gave last season about Tyler Black on the sidelines of the Padres game. Pat Murphy outright said he hated Tyler Black in so many words. He also followed that up the next time Black got his first RBI in MLB action in the postgame interview and bashed Tyler Black again. I am not making this up . I just watched the 2024 season and listened to what Murphy had to say about Black . Murphy HATES Tyler Black and was very open about it anytime he was asked in 2024. Not a secret. You do not go from the hottest prospect in the Brewers system with nothing but positive hype like Black had under Craig to being a fringe prospect with so many problems he may never make any Brewers roster for any amount of time under Pat Murphy unless the Coach has a different personal opinion of the player than the previous Manager had. Tyler Black went from the next big shoe to drop in the call ups to the biggest joke in Milwaukee in one season where he did not fall off that much in production. The entire 2024 season for Black was a result of Murphy holding him back when it was supposed to be his big break season. Pat Murphy has not problem complimenting the players he likes including Jake Bauers who he gave Tyler's job to instantly and only carried a .199 Batting Average all season long and was never replaced by Black for more than 1 series. Pat HATES Tyler Black . All you need to do to understand this is listen to Pat speak about him. Pat went out of this way in front of cameras to make sure that everyone knew he hated Tyler Black. I mean the Dugout interview he gave against the Padres he completely bashed Tyler and held nothing back . I am not making this up it was what Pat said and he said it 2 different times through 2024 that I caught personally in his interviews and I am assuming there have to be more instances like this that I missed . He made no bones about telling everyone he disliked Tyler Black in 2024 and I highly doubt that went away in 2025. Maybe though.

I see value in drafting kids but I also see value in drafting fully grown men who can play ball without being taught how. I like that Craig Yoho was basically ready for the MLB day one. I like that Gabe Swansen will be able to play well north of low A ball year one and see the value in drafting players who are not long term developmental players who can be on an MLB field before the entire current roster is out of Milwaukee . I think only focusing on youth is a mistake but the Brewers have been good at mixing in talent with established talent better than most teams at least when it comes to drafting these guys. I cannot see who you are talking about though. Which pitcher did you mean to speak about here?
