I like it . What does "The Breakaway" trick look like ? Wait here it is... But maybe it is too literal when compared to Breaking balls But that also makes it sound like it fits too. Jailbreak, Breakaway trick fits the pitch . It even mimics the side arm delivery of Yoho's Yo Yo. Thanks for the post!

But i say Air ender is a bad description of a pitcher's best pitches. Plus it is just too much like Airbender. We can do better . Air Ender has that Bat hit the ball to end the air but I appreciate that you included it here. But I love that you are on board with a name now that we grow even closer to him being on an MLB mound. Thanks for posting ! We gotta figure this out before his first real game action and that time is screaming closer and closer every time he pitches. We are fastly running out of time because he will be pitching MLB pitches in no time! I have faith in everyone it will get a name before then. Go Crew!

Love it! I tried out the Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Rum as well but it just gets to long to be catchy . I like where your head is though. In truth I am just excited to have another guy who has pitch that looks like a Freakshow. Losing Williams would sting a lot more if Craig Yoho was not in the wings. Thanks for posting!

Seeing Hudson after Mis was proof of how much more polished Hudson is with years of training at his position and how much more Mis has to grow (and he will) before he is ready for Prime Time. . The difference between the two players was glaringly obvious and for me it just says our special pitcher won't be ready for the 2025 season in MLB . That is more than okay with me . He is just so young that taking the time to do this right has to be the mission with him no matter what the Talking Heads say . The ball speed recorder went out yesterday after inning 1 so we got nothing to see all these numbers or pitch types. Hudson threw a Changeup which i believe would be the first one I have seen him throw. Nice! Thanks for posting this.

So he is in a battle for a roster spot and he has "mild back soreness" sure. Did you not listen to the interview Murphy gave on the sidelines last season on our West Coast tour when he was being interviewed by the TV announcers during I believe against the Padres? Or every single time he was brought up in post game interviews in 2024? This is not an opinion of mine. Pat Murphy said that he did not like Tyler Black and treated him differently . Pat said he was riding Tyler hard in that sideline interview and that he is being a hard on Tyler and made no bones about it. When Pat took over as manager all the hype around Tyler Black shifted from everyone being excited about him to him being a fringe player who may never make the MLB field as a Brewer . That is not just a coincidence. Tyler Black is being held back because Murphy hates his guts and no other reasons. If you watched all the 2024 games and listened to Murphy speak about Tyler Black at all you should already know this to be true.

385 on-base percentage and .327 batting average in 2024 the guy has arms like a lumberjack keen to axe work. I have no idea what or were anyone fits in . I just know I would love to have this young outfielder in the house here in Milwaukee. Reminds me of Trout. a tad older which could put him in reach maybe even near that comp pick for Willy but who knows? I have never understood projecting MLB draft talent in position. I value this guy high! That much I know. Wishlist player #1 of summer. Gabe Swansen of Nebraska is a nice ball player to dream about. The guy is cut like Thor. 6' 200lbs of nice bat speed and power to spare.

he kinda reminds me of Rowdy when he was skinnier before he lost his swing altogether. Hopefully better .

He is on 1st for a good reason . Bauers is one of our guys now and i am so glad we have him here.

That is not what I saw. He did just fine for his first work of the season. Jacob's command has never been "bad" it just has moments where it gets shaky but it is never bad for long periods of time. He walked a few and racked a few and hit good Velocity. For his first start i say it looked about like you would expect. I am not willing to say he has bad anything . Jacob is our best chance to have a Skenes and I am more than happy to wait on him until he can start here. The call to push him into the bullpen must end. He is much to valuable as a starter. Craig yoho can be the pitcher who tears up the pen. Mis can play AAA until they get him ready for starting work.

Great graphic ! thanks for posting.

Maybe while Perkins is injured. But the Brewers have the 2 best Center Fielders in the NL Central. Where someone starts in Spring Training means 0 other than that was the open outfield place of need for this lineup. I would like to see Chourio play everywhere and we will see him all over the outfield over the next decade . I do not see him ever taking Center and making it his own though. Mitchell and Perkins are just really good players who thrive there so I do not see Brian taking that work away from them any time soon. I think the Murphy quote is being taken way to seriously . He was trying to be funny there and they printed it as if he was being serious.

Cooper Pratt should be the 2025 starting Shortstop for the Brewers . I get making them work through the minors but that guy is better than minor leagues and belongs in the brightest lights of the game. Man he looks full grown . The baserunning mistake he made today is rookie stuff that will not be issues with more playing time. He looks like a guy who belongs and we need a new Short. he happens to play + defense at Short . the Brewers can debate Ortiz or Turang but the truth is neither of them are going to keep Shortstop because of Cooper Pratt. Pratt is coming. Even if they do not make him play bigs ball in 2025 he is the future of this franchise at SS. So moving Turang or Ortiz temporarily to Short only to have to move them out of Milwaukee or to another spot on the infield in 2026 to accommodate Pratts call up seems defeatist. That guy is the most special player on the Brewers prospects list and I see that now. There is no better player for the Shortstop job in MLB ball. That guy is going to be a SUPERSTAR!

I think you can see the most deserving player to surprise everyone with starting work out of the blue is Cooper Pratt. None of the prospects playing this spring look more MLB player like than Cooper Pratt is currently looking. He made a dumb baserunning mistake today against Cleveland but the rest of his day was golden. I say let Cooper Skip AAA and see what he can do as an MLB Shortstop. If he fails send him back to AAA for seasoning but I do not think he can learn anything in the minors he cannot figure out at the highest levels and I do not see him as a guy who will cost the Brewers if left to work and learn up here . Cooper Pratt looks like a Superstar in all ways from what I have seen this Spring so far. The fact we lost Willy and are currently looking to replace him and have a guy as good as Pratt almost ready to play big league ball . Pratt may not have earned it by walking up the Minors like most of the MLB but he is simply just too good to let him play meaningless ball for very long. Cooper Pratt has impressed me. He looks like a Big leaguer in all ways . He is obviously young and needs a lot of work but what he already has in his tools are more than good enough for primetime.

I think your statement on what he should have in the Bigs was true. He was called out by strikeout when he refused to swing at balls that were called strikes. I also think this is a must learn part of Black's game. Which is why I see no value in Black staying in AAA. On top of that all I believe the Brewers told the umps to call things that way on purpose when Black was up to bat that series. I also agree with your review of the article . Sal and Turang were not hitters like Black is when they came up. Black is has always been a superior hitter to either Sal or Brice. They called up because they were both golden defenders who had to develop better on offense. The opposite is true from Black so comparing Tyler to either of those guys is not a good way to put his situation to word. Black seems being held back for other reasons I am not in agreement with. It seems like a personality contest to me and Murphy openly hates on Black and it seems to be the only thing holding him back .

Black should not lose value. I do think to be fair to Black however let him play or let him play elsewhere. It is getting to the point where this is hurting Black by keeping him off MLB fields. He has 0 to learn in AAA at this point. I do not think trading him off is a good look for the Brewers in the end though I do support the trade. Where he goes he will do well and make the Crew look dumb for having traded him after this much invested in developing him. Black is going to be a very nice player in the MLB no matter what Murphy thinks of him personality wise. I am with you . Blacks trade value is low as it stands. There is very little to gain by trading him in value no matter how it breaks. I do not think his trade value is enough to worry about it dropping out though. He is no more valuable than Weimer was in trade so the idea of that value dropping is not really a thing. Trading him to be fair to the player who is ready to play MLB ball however would be a nice move if they care about Black at all though. If they do not have a plan for him so trade him. He deserves a real shot and the Brewers are not giving it to him.

Tyler Black is BETTER than Rhys Hoskins on defense. Shocker to hear but it's more than true. Hoskins has always carried the same defensive issue everyone is saying about Black. Rhys has lived off his bat . So when people say the same nonsense about Black I cringe because 1st base is a place for defenders who will never win awards in the first place. He is more than good enough to play Big Boy Ball . Black is Not like Sal or Turang with "bad" defense. He is BETTER than either of them coming out of AAA as a hitter. Sal and Brice both carried themselves off defense first which is why they came in earlier than Black. Black has never been a liability on defense despite the constant harping by the people who talk about prospects. He is just not the Platinum Glove level defenders like Blake ,Brice and Sal and that is OKAY. When compared him Sal and Brice on D there are a handful of MLB players that compare on that level so it is simply not fair to expect this level of defense from Black and that seems like what is happening here. Tyler Black is never going to compete for Golden glove awards and I really do not care and no one else should either . He was not brought to baseball to play golden defense . He was brought up to where he is because he bats better than 60% of the MLB . Tyler Black with proper support and a honest shot at 1st would win that job for 50% of the MLB at least. No one here seems to be willing to give him that shot. To be fair to Tyler Black they should move him and he will be a .270+ hitter for another Ball Club. He is MLB ready and has been for 2 seasons and holding him in AAA again only because Murphy hates his guts. Tyler Black reminds me of Pete Rose. Hopefully not in gambling but how Managers react to his personality and how he is loved by those who watch him play but is hated by everyone else in Media and Management. I hope he gets a more fair shot but if not the Brewers should let him go to play someplace before the season .

https://www.mlb.com/brewers/video/oliver-dunn-s-first-homer-of-spring-training?t=spring-training Boom Tanker!! Oliver Dunn solves so many problems if he can bring this version of himself to the season and stay healthy .
-
Patches O'Houlihan emerges. What will stage 2 look like this Spring? I have not seen any Patches moments out of Spring Training this season just yet. That is something he should lean into even more than before and keep it going as long as he fits that persona. It was proof this team had a lot of fun playing baseball from the start to the last pitch. When will he be throwing wrenches? That is the real question. I missed baseball.
-
They also posted his weight taken at two venues. So you can doubt it but they have receipts. Pros get bigger faster. That is life.
-
Huge problem solution if Dunn is ready for primetime.
-
Or Murphy is finding more reasons not to play him . I think Murphy simply does not like Black personally .
