  1. I’m sure that’s a consideration, although I can’t imagine it happens all that often where two contenders having opposing needs and surpluses
  2. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arnold and Stearns are cooking something behind the scenes. The Mets need pitching and are shopping their infield surplus. Maybe something where the main pieces are Cortes and Baty. I’m sure they’d prefer to keep Baty though over the others
  3. Garcia is a 25 year old (likely) relief prospect and Izzi isn’t pitching well in A+. Both have some upside, but it looks like a fair deal to me
  4. Back in May I had us trading Hoskins to Seattle for Garcia. Right idea, but we just had to go and ruin it by never losing again :)
  5. Can’t speak for everyone but I would say it’s because there isn’t a ton of upside in the glove and speed, and he’s behind other bat first prospects like Wilken and Adams who have shown it at higher levels
  6. There’s a decent chance that the surplus value of Yoho over Reliever B over the next 6 seasons is no greater than the surplus value of Suarez over Monasterio over the next 3 months You would need the rental to be bad and Yoho to be very good for that type of trade to be meaningful painful for the Brewers. It’d be well worth the risk in my opinion
  7. Clearly Quero is on his way to Minnesota as part of a deal for Duran and Castro and totally not just dehydrated or something
  8. We’ve basically been running a 12 man staff since Zastryzny went down. Makes little sense Edit: good to see Myers getting loose now
  9. It’s surprising Yelich sees as many fastballs as he does. He just can’t lay off the low breaking stuff

  11. Highly unlikely. He’s 34 and in the middle of a career year. He’s going to be looking for that final contract and price himself out of Milwaukee
  12. If that’s what it takes to get Suarez then the bidding went fully off the rails
  13. I love how Misiorowski is just this dorky looking kid who throws absolute gas and always just looks happy to be there. The anti-Scherzer
  14. This was true 3-4 years ago, but not after the ACL injury. At this point there’s not really anything on a baseball field that Hoskins does better than O’Hearn
  15. I was taught that as well in high school No idea if it slows you down at all - they weren’t giving my Hoskins speed the green light lol
  16. My god Chourio another 105+ mph line drive. Is he gonna repeat last year’s second half?
  17. Turang went like 30 straight steals without getting caught and now it feels like a 50/50 proposition when he takes off
  18. I understand you don’t want to overpay, but an overpay can mean a lot of different things. Like I said in my post, if it takes a Made, Pena, Quero, etc. to get him then I wouldn’t want that either. I would be surprised if the bidding gets that high, but maybe someone throws all the chips in If they’re overpaying with some other combination of prospects then it’s something the Brewers should aggressively pursue
