  1. I was calling for the 15-year deal this offseason; but since that didn't happen... Is it completely unreasonable to start talking extensions now? The only reason I ask is with the low dollar amounts free agents got this offseason; it would be great to use those as baselines for negotiations. Who knows when the economy turns around and the pitchers start getting astronomical figures again. I definitely want to see him locked up; he's a complete player. Pitching, Defense, Offense, athleticism; he's got it all.
  2. Yovani Gallardo's career HR/AB rate is 15. Same exact career rate as Russell Branyan. Coincidence? I think not.
  3. "Yovani Gallardo pitched his second successive complete game on Wednesday. (Darren Hauck/AP)" I wish....Nice caption mlb.com. Amazing game today. Wow. Like someone else said; there's no reason a YoGa game should go untelevised. Is there a squeeze play later tonight on FSN?
  4. It seems like there's 3 ads per page. One on the top post, one in the middle, and one on the last post of the page. The middle one obviously moves around as posts get added.
  5. I haven't noticed that but I have noticed just terrible FSN production tonight. Just as a write this the score along the bottom during the commercial break read "BREWERS BASEBALLL" at the top.
  6. That angered me as well. Especially after reading that story on him in JS about the internal setbacks he had during his coming up with the Brewers. I'm sure getting boo'ed and an 0'fer to start the season can't help...
  7. I tend to agree with you. I don't get why people get so worked up about something that really doesn't affect the game at all. There's no way by Brian mentioning something like this, that it miraculously makes Bush throw a meatball.
  8. That's about the only time I feel confident with this years team these days... Great win tonight, and stellar pitching. 'Deefer continuing to do what he does, and it was nice to see CV throw a nice inning
  9. I too think Feliz was out. Anyone else think Billy thought there was 2-outs at first? He was casually flipping it to second, and then made a quick jerk to toss it harder it seemed. Could be the difference of an out or not at first...
  10. Really? Because every ball put in play of Hardy's that I can recall has been a shallow pop-up.
  11. There it is! Thanks a bunch.
  12. Does anyone know Mark DiFelice's song when he enters the game? I seem to remember it having his name in it... (or at least something that sounds like his name)
  13. Well I can answer the part about the bags; The backpack I bring in to most games is bigger than the specifications you posted. I think you'll be fine. I think they just don't want you bringing in huge coolers and such; if it can fit on your back you'll probably be okay. Hope you have a good time!
  14. I don't see why Hardy/Hart were ever switched in the first place, besides the DP argument with Rickie on and Hardy up. Corey can't steal anymore, being ahead of Braun and Fielder; and Hardy's always thrived in the fastball-heavy 2-slot. It just seems like common sense to me; but what do I know?
  15. Wow, I'm really sorry; that sucks a lot. I hate that there have to be drunken idiots that do stupid stuff like that. I mean, I can be a drunken idiot at times at games, but I'm also not going to steal or break anything of my fellow Brewers' fans. I've had far too many car flags snapped off my car, and chairs stolen in the parking lots; it makes me sick. I hate having to put my Weber Q in my car before heading into the game, but it's just a reality I have to face these days.
  16. Really? Seems like he always goes back to "Go Getta" whenever he struggles for an amount of time... I remember he did the same thing last year
  17. MLB Career - 2.0 BB/9Minors Career - 1.6 BB/9 Sure sounds good to me right about now!
  18. I can't even comprehend your generosity Pedro; it really is great what you do. I'll throw my name in for the Weeks magazine. Good luck to all!
  19. Well that's slightly encouraging. It sure would help if the game was at 3:05 and not 3:25 though. Looks like every minute could be precious
  20. The game actually starts at 3:25 right? I thought I remembered a TH blog on it. Everyone pray for the rain to pass tonight!
  21. Great thread idea. I Love reading these. As for me, our 20-game pack group of friends will hit up Lake Country Cigars in Delafield the day before the game every year and get a real overly expensive stogy for the game. Than we all do our grocery shopping together as to bounce ideas off each other and make sure we have all the essentials and such. We all go back to our respective households and try to get some sleep in. Me, being the primary grill owner, will now do my annual makeover of my grill, getting all the carbon buildup off, and making sure its as clean as can be. I'll then start to get everything that isn't edible packed into the car (the canopy, the table, grill, chairs, etc...), and start to make whatever food I'm eating the next day (this year I'll be making garlic, onion, and bacon infused burgers. I'll wake up in the morning faster and more alert than any other day of the year. Shower, and pack up the rest of the goodies. Outfit the car with a few window flags and leave the house to meet at Goerke's Corner park-n-ride on Bluemound with all the rest of the fellow tailgators. We'll play catch there and rock out to "Brewers Fever" and "Turnin' Up The Heat" while waiting for everyone to arrive, and then jam everyone into as few cars as possible and head down to Mecca. Making only two stops on the way down there; we'll stop at both Bluemound Liquor, and "The Peanut Guy." Then we'll get in line for the Bluemound "Giants" parking lot (the only parking lot as far as I'm concerned), around 4:30-5 hours before game time. If they aren't letting cars in at the time we'll wait paitently and play some more catch and such. Than we finally get in to the glorious place that is the parking lot and do all the typical tailgating festivities. Head in to the game around 20 minutes before game time so assure we see the first pitch, and sit back and enjoy watching a Brewers victory. After the game, celebratory "Brewers Fever" is played for the victory, and a post-game tailgate is usually in order.
  22. That rope was ingenious. I couldn't count on all of my phalanges how many times I fell trying to do my business on piss-hill pre-rope installation
  23. I work at Walgreens and I also use that line whenever I open up a second register. It's only fair. If it turns out that that person doesn't want to move, or needs cigarettes from the other line, than I'll ask the next person, and so on. I'll still have people cut, and sometimes I'll call them out, but usually it works out alright.
  24. I think this will help more than anything else, really. When I went down to Miami for the Brewers/Marlins series two years ago I remember talking to an old man who said he had season tickets but rarely came. He explained most nights he was worried about rain-outs; and he also said he never came on Sunday-afternoon games because it was just too hot. Good for Miami, they have an exciting young team (as usual)
