  1. I would think that might depend on if that game means anything or not. If we're tied for the mets that Sunday; I doubt there would be many players signing. If there two games out? I would hope they would sign some autographs
  2. Wow, thrown for a loop here; Tom H's blog says that Sheets said after the game that it's elbow pains he's been fighting for a while, even had an MRI done a while back, he's just been pitching through it. Interesting... ----------------- Mod note: actually, it's Anthony Witrado's blog entry. --1992 -----------------
  3. Well in a very small sample size, Nelson has looked like he's able to handle MLB pitching pretty decently. I have no idea how well he plays RF, and I doubt Sveum will do it, but I wouldn't mind just a one day spell of Hart for Nelson
  4. Well that's good news. He's gotten mildly hurt a couple times batting this year; hopefully this means he goes AL next year and we don't have to face him
  5. Difelice was not looking too good by the end of the last inning and now would be facing batters for a second time. I'm very happy we pulled the plug on him before it was too late (a la Yost)
  6. Man, and everyone that has said in the last few years that Sheets won't reach 200 innings in a year again might just be right for another year. Sheets leaves with 196 IP this year. Let's hope that's not all he pitches this year
  7. Weeks has an .804 OPS in the second half, leave him out of this. While I agree for the most part with your points, I do think Yost compounded the issues with some of his bone-headed decisions mostly regarding the bullpen, and of course batting counsell 6th. I actually would agree that I thought Yost did a much much better job this year, but there were still countless times when I was scratching my head or throwing my remote through a window at his decisions. It had to be done in my eyes. Sveum though? Really?
  8. Right, I mean it's easy to say this now at this point of the season, but when we rattled off 8 in a row in August and were in control of our destiny, nobody could be found complaining about the trade. I think most agree the trade was a good one, and to some extent was neccessary. This is our year, and if it playoffs don't become a reality this year, it should be considered a huge dissapointment. We may not have another chance like this in a while; we had to make that trade.
  9. Yes, it would and its called football.Wow, I could not believe how many times it was attempted to get started in extra innings. Then you've got to love the people that ridicule you for "Not doing the wave!", and not enjoying the game... This was a great game, and being a huge anti-Ned guy, I've got to give him major props. Every move I wanted to make he did. Mota was the perfect choice there (albeit practically only choice) but he pulled the trigger at the right time and it paid off. We needed a strikeout pitcher at the time, and it could have blown up in his face; but I still would have thought it was the right move. I've got to give kudos when he does well, because God knows I'll be sure to cut him down when he screws up.
  10. I'm absolutely obsessed with protrade. It makes watching/tracking games infinitely more fun. Like today for example, I had bought Marquis before the game, and immediately sold and started to short as he was getting rocked in the six. I've been a member for a little less than a year but didn't really get the hang of it until a few months ago. I'm up to about $120,000, but was at around $70,000 just a few weeks ago. I never really do any of the challenges; I can't seem to do any good in them, I'm not sure why. My username is Brewers0708
  11. our friends and I have discussed this as well. I just really hope we can clinch the Wild Card before the Cubs series. That way we can have a celebration all to ourselves. I also hope it happens on a win of ours; where after the final pitch is thrown in our game, we clinch. The nine other people in our 20-game pack have already decided on having a champagne shower in the parking lot after the game if we're at the clinching game.
  12. I was told by the guy at Waukesha Sport's Cards that they sell them at the MLB Clubhouse in Brookfield Square mall. He was telling me a story he had heard of a fan seeing CC and his family at toysrus and running into the mall and back and getting him to sign some stuff, including 8x10's.
  13. My rep told me 20-game packs were being sent out starting on Monday (today). So expect to see them shortly.
  14. Working at Walgreen's during the summers and sometimes working up front as a cashier I honestly worry for society with some people's etiquette. The women who have to put everything back in their purse exactly how it was before they start to walk away get to me. Or the lady (a big women no less) who recently came in, sweaty-as-can-be, and reached into her bra to give me her soaked five dollar bill; I almost puked. Or there's always the people that come to the register and look around and cannot decide on the type of cigarettes they want. I could go on and on....
  15. They showed him playing long toss the other day on the broadcast. He looked pretty good. I can't believe we're even talking about a return with him.
  16. Wow. Ned, cross your arms and sit there. Maybe you should have pulled him four batters ago?
  17. WHY IS SUPPAN STILL IN? This is unbelievable...
  18. ... We might as well have walked him...
  19. Suppan looks terrible today. Get him out of there before it's too late!
  20. Let's go Benny! Ever since Wellemeyer's inflamed elbow he has been very ineffective and lets hope that keeps up. Keep it rollin' Ben, I want free burgers at Webb's!
  21. I hate to be negative, but I don't think 3.7 GPA and 27 ACT will get you into Madison. If you are minority, it's a different story. (None of my business, just stating facts.) I have recent history with this, and Madison is very, very competitive. Think top 5% and/or 30+ ACT to get in the running. How many times did you take the ACT? Might be worth it to try to take another shot or two. I can attest to this. I graduated high school in 2007 and had a 3.7 GPA and a 31 ACT and Madison put me on the waiting list. I decided not to do the supplement application and eventually got declined admission. Now maybe if I actually did the application I could have gotten in, but regardless it really is a tough school to get into.
  22. As unbelievable as the title was it still freaked me out. I just bought a Corey Hart autographed bat about an hour ago!
  23. And he'll play for free!
  24. First of all, Mota is not one of our best relievers. Mota is complete garbage yet Ned always feels the need to put him in. I only want that piece of trash in the game if the Brewers are losing by 5 or more runs. Mota gave up two infield singles and a walk. It's not like he got shelled. Sure he's been bad, but you can think a 5-run lead is safe with a proven major league reliever. If you're Ned, what would you have done?
  25. Okay, I am one of the biggest anti-Ned'ers out there; but how exactly was this Ned's fault? We had a 5 run lead and 3 of our best relievers couldn't get 1 out. I don't blame this on Ned. You would have rather had our headcase 6+ ERA ex-closer that just came off the DL out there for a second inning?
