  1. I thought so too but not quite. If your team is up more than 3 the tying run has to be on deck. When Farnsworth came in it was in the hole.
  2. We'll see how it turns out but I think the Reds and the Cards have more problems than the Brewers do. And the Cards might be getting another big one.
  3. If the Cards lose the Brewers will expand their lead during a 2-5 week. Either way they spend the whole week in first. That's OK. Plus the Brewers went to Fenway and they had the Royals at home.
  4. We named our firstborn Daniel Herrera after his great-grandfathers (paternal - first name, maternal - middle name). He is upset that his namesake is so lame. When he heard how short DRH was he wanted to see a picture, so I directed him to mlb.com, where there are many videos of baseballs leaving the yard.
  5. Well he was out of it, too bad it was called strike 3 instead of ball 3. It helps your patience if you know you'll get calls like that.
  6. You can make a pretty good case that he should walk Castro and Ramirez and set up the force with guy hitting 216.
  7. Big double off the wall at Petco; that was a multihit game too. Ooops, yeah what he said.
  8. Given his role that's 6 losses in games that should have been won or that the Brewers had at least a good shot of winning.
  9. If the Nats can hang on the Brewers will hold the wild card.
  10. Javier Vazquez. He's been pitching a little better lately.
  11. They had a lot more trouble with the Giants at home than the Brewers did and that's the only plus 500 team they've played in several weeks.
  12. 6-5 in the last 11. The glass is even half fuller.
  13. Yep. Ueck had to distinguish b/w the line drive into the box and the easy popup. Also Corey called himself this journalist and Uecker got him to say he's a play by play guy, not a journalist. Funny stuff. Also nice about Ueck presenting the first Johnny Carson scholie at Nebraska.
  14. No doubt...I was at that game. Love to see Prince hit a walk off and then chase Mota into the Giants clubhouse to finish the job. Ueck's talking about it now. Said the HBP looked intentional.
  15. Corey mentioned the no-hitter and the curse was immediately cashed in. Ueck spent the rest of the inning talking about teaching check swing hitting in the minors. "You think it's easy to strike out all the time? Sometimes they hit your bat just like that"
  16. Last time they were 4 over .500 - July 8 . . . 2009
  17. Ueck: One strike on Braun, who is still in the game.
