  1. Thanks that was fun to read. My brother and I were there behind the Oriole dugout and were shown on the broadcast (and the highlight video for that year too). I admit I have mixed feelings about no-hitters, I'd like to see the next one too.
  2. 27 outs without scoring any runs still the Brewers win
  3. Weather Underground Shows thunderstorms well away I think we're OK
  4. I'm on radio and gameday. Did he "strut"?
  5. He just missed a GS foul and the DP was hit hard.
  6. Dodger radio guys think Kemp did the right thing tagging up. They're second guessing the 1-2 curve to Hardy and Broxton npot holding Durham
  7. We split with the Nats in May. We are one nice AB from Rivera away from maybe splitting with them this time.
  8. Katz's Deli is pretty close to the tenement museum if you don't have other breakfast or lunch plans. From Grand Central go north on Park at least to the Seagram Building and Lever House. Next to the Dakota is Dallas Jones BBQ, nothing special but very cheap and you can also drink cheap. Or go to Zabar's at 80th and Broadway.
  9. Wow, nice to see all the love for San Diego. Mine depend on the season. New Year's - Pasadena Feb. - Utah Mar. - Arizona April - DC June/July - anywhere there's a beach early Aug. - Edinburgh, during the fringe late Aug. - Sept. - WI (also a good time to avoid San Diego, FYI) Oct. - early Nov. - Vermont, upstate NY, NYC marathon Thanksgiving/Xmas season - NYC UP? We were on Mackinac Island on 4th of July once. The high was 53.
  10. Abreu may have made the worst play I ever saw - thrown out at 3d for the last out before Jeter gets home on what would have been a routine SF and the Yankees down 5-0 early.
  11. My 12 year old daughter is watching the game. Her first comment, "why is he sliding." Her second comment, "he's out."
  12. There was booing. A lot after Braun's homerun and throughout the night. Before the last strike, Uecker said "the fans are turning on their beloved Cardinals."
  13. Don't want to jinx us, but when was the last time the Brewer's were 15 games over .500? 1992? We got to 14 over 5 separate times last year, the last time on July 2nd. July 19th of last year we were 54-41 and it was all downhill from there. Just curious if anyone knows if it goes back to '92. A win tomorrow with CC going Wednesday? I'd take our chances. Yes 1992. They didn't go 10 or more over .500 between 93 and 06. The most was 9 over at 15-6 in 1998.
  14. Maybe the Padres and Cardinals can go 22 today. Or maybe the Cards will get a walk-off GS.
  15. I thought I heard Powell say they'd done that but I must have been hearing things. Gameday still shows a hit.
  16. Sorry for focusing on Cub negatives rather than Brewer positives but how nice that 2 undeserving Cub starters are batting 8th and 9th and the 3d isn't playing at all.
  17. Just happened to me in softball. By the time I secured the catch the runner was way off first so I threw back for the DP, ump called "first touch" so safe and that's how I learned the rule.
  18. Bob: "We'll make him the star for next game too." Still gotta love him.
  19. Well we'll never have to see Mota ever again. That's definitely worth the 2d HR.
  20. Strange outing. Besides the sacrifice by Rusch the Rockies have hit 10 balls fair - 5 hits and 2 crushed to Cameron.
  21. My name is Bob and I am an Alex Sanchez fan. I have been sober since 2002.
  22. Padres players talking about the trade: http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/sullivan/20080708-9999-1s8sullivan.html
  23. I was OK with the infield in. You play back and concede the run and it's tied up and you likely have the winning run at 3d with 1 out which isn't good. I would have left Gagne in though. He only threw 9 pitches. I was surprised not to see him back out.
