  1. Wow, $35...really! That's seems steep for any kind of hat. Although I prefer the adjustable kind over the fitted kind. I went to MP last night and picked up a blue Brewer "playoff" shirt for both me and my son (I was really suprised they had kid's sizes). I prefer the shirts that say 2008 playoffs over the Wild Card shirt. I don't want to feel like I need to purchase a new shirt every time the Brewers advance to the another round. In '82 I remember buying a "Brewer's - 1982 World Champions" shirt at Gimbels during the WS (I think it was between games 5 and 6). I held on to it until about 10 years ago when my wife convinced me that there was really no need to keep clothing that no longer fits me. I really wish I would have kept it.

  4. Thanks a lot zachlaka. Perfect. Just the kind of stuff I was looking for. If anyone has any information on some the techno/synthesizer type music they play at times before games, it would be appreciated.
  5. So, the Cubs will play a home game starting at 8:30 CDT? Not good for people with school age children that are attending that game.
  6. Actually, not so much. Many of the other threads deal with walk up songs. I'm looking for that, but I'm also looking for general MP music that you hear before games or after. For example, this thread talks mainly about walk up music. http://brewersfandemonium...ku.com?topic=11718?page=4 In one of the posts in that thread Brian asks about the operatic music played before the game, but no response. I couldn't find the above thread until just now. So, if someone wants to merge this into that thread, I'm fine with that. I guess I'm just hoping for more responses regarding general Miller Park music.
  7. I know there have been other related threads in the past. But I would like some help with some of the music they play at Miller Park. Not just walk up songs but music that they play before and after the game. There are some songs that they play before the game that do not have any words, so it's hard for me to describe. One they play is before the Brewers bat and it's a montage of Brewers hitting home runs. Every time they hit a home run, there's a loud symbol crash. There's another one that's been going though my mind (I'm not even sure if they play it anymore), and I can't describe when they play it, but they usually play it before the game at some point - no words, so really hard to describe. I've heard it at other sporting events. It's synthesizer type music. Anyways, I'm trying to put together a CD of MP songs to play in the car over the next weeks as we are driving around going to playoff games. Thanks.
  8. Wow that's pretty good! That's just about my best score for all 5 hamsters together. I did manage to launch a hedgehog into space in 3 days. I stopped playing after that. I can't imagine how it's possible to do it in less than 3 days - at least not for me.
  9. I know Suppan pitched well the other day (although he did work out of a few jams and they were hitting the ball hard in the first couple of innings), but I'm still not comfortable with him starting. I would prefer something like this. Game 1 - Bush (with Parra, Suppan, McClung, Villy support) Game 2 - CC Game 3 - Gallardo (with Parra, Suppan, McClung, Villy support) Game 4 - Bush (with Parra, Suppan, McClung, Villy support) Game 5 - CC Side note: Why does the spacing on my posts get all messed up sometimes? I could not type anything right below game 4, it automatically spaced a line in there. This happens to me a lot.
  10. In an interview on XM after the game yesterday, Helms made some comments about Brewer fans and how they tend to boo everyone that use to play for the Brewers. He mentioned that he heard they did the same thing for Jenkins (I thought Jenkins got mostly cheered when he came back this year). Helms wondered if he would finally get cheered the next time he played at Milwaukee.
  11. Yes, in fact I'm sure any reputable broker will give you just about a full return and perhaps hold back some sort of nominal processing fee. In fact stub-hub has something right on their web site that states this. Back when Milwaukee hosted the All-Star game, I had tickets but then I also got some tickets through work. So, I sold my tickets to a broker and had to sign something that stated that if for some reason the game was not played, I would refund the cash I received from the broker back to them.

  13. Wow, what a rollercoaster week (and day) emotionally. Just like 82'...all came down to the last day.
  14. Man, I'm so jeoulous of all of the people that were there today. But whatever. We're going to the playoffs!!!!!! I was there 26 years ago as a 16 year old and will be going back on Saturday with my wife and son. Life is sweet!!
  15. It's not good that we are unsure about our closer situation at this point.
  16. Wait, Zambrano is pitching tomorrow for the Cubs? When did this happen? As soon as I saw Marquis in there I thought...huh? Thought he was pitching tomorrow? Guess not. According to MLB.com, Zambrano is.
  17. Thanks for the breaking news. What am I..chopped liver? I think I've mentioned this twice in the last 10 posts.
  18. Sorry about that...now sure why it starts up right away...you can delete that post if you want.
  19. Yes, and we'll never know will we. Instead they want to go with either: A. A player we know can't hit righties and is average defensively. B. A player who we know has 1 HR in 246 ABs with a .597 OPS and by all accounts is not a very good fielder C. A player who we don't know if he can even physically play the field at all. It's not like we have Derek Jeter or Miquel Tejada waiting in the wings to fill in for Hardy.
  20. Regardless of the what type of stats Escobar would put up argument, this quote from TH's blog is what just kills me. What has happened to ballplayers over the last 20-30 years? It's laughable. Do they really need to have there hand held like this. Pitch counts, closers that can't go more than one inning, prospects that need 4-5 years "seasoning" before they can play in the Majors. It just sickens me. Would this stressful experience really cause great trauma to Escobar and endanger his ML career? Good grief! It's no wonder that Football fans laugh at baseball sometimes.
  21. I'm just wondering why they play the MLB championship season at all in the first place. Why not just take all the rosters and stats on opening day, run them through some simulation model and crown the WS winner right there and then? Are you going to tell me that there has never been a ML ball player that has put up better stats in the majors than he did in the minors? Not even for 3 days? Not sure, but I believe Albert Pujols is one example.
  22. Adjust it using what? Baseball is not played on paper or in a simulation model, it's played out on the field. I recall the Brewers being a 87% chance of making the playoffs earlier in the month. What are the odds now? Does it matter? I understand the need for having stats and using them to evaluate players. However, I think some people take it way to far sometimes. Believe it or not there are things that happen on the field that can not be measured in statistical terms.
  23. There are a lot of guys out there that don't appear to have the offensive skills to compete at the ML level, yet they continue to get the opportunity. Again, if this Hardy thing is true, are the other options really that much better?
  24. I really hate that line of thought among MLB managers and coaches and don't agree with it at all. Yes, I know, the guy is a rookie and to put him in a pressure situation like this would be asking a lot. But, c'mon, can he really do much worse than Counsell? Why even have him on the bench at all?
