    We have had season tix in family section 217 since Miller Opened and my son was 3. It's a great place location to watch a game from. However, if have real concerns regarding foul balls, it behind home plate an many balls get hit up there (although my son has never been hit). At the same time it's a great place for a kid to get a souvenir foul ball. A lot of the balls get hit into the press box and then they always search for a kid to give it to. My son has over a dozen baseballs from games, most of them via the press box (of course many of those were from earlier years at Miller Park, when the crowds where not as big).

    Anyone else get this in the mail? If so, are you joining? It's $24/year (or $2/month as they like to put it). It looks like the countless PGA Tour and Golf club type things I get in the mail and throw away, however I decided to give this MLB thing a 1 year try. You get a free gift (stadium blanket), All Star Program, and a monthly (?) publication. I know, I know...there's one born every minute.

    One thing I forgot. I believe they are doing the World Basbeball Classic again next year. So, if you go early, you may not see some of the bigger stars that are playing in the Classic. A few years ago, we went down early and Carlos Lee was not at any of the games because of the classic. However, last time, they did play some games at Chase field..but I don't go down there to watch non-brewer games in a big stadium.

    I think I have experienced something close to this. I don't think my eyes ever opened. It's hard to explain what happens to me. It's almost like I'm dreaming, but I know it's a dream. I'm trying to move, there might even be a noise that's happening in the room ( i.e. alarm clock going off) that's become a part of my dream. I try to move or turn to see what the noise is, but I can't move a muscle. I struggle so much to move that I finally wake my self up.

    Will the NL finally win? When I was growing up and the Brewers were in the AL, the NL always beat the AL. Now that the Brewers are in the NL, it's the opposite.

    None of what's happening today is possible without Miller Park and Miller Park is not possible without Bud Selig. Without Miller Park there is no new owner, not one that keeps the Brewers in Milwaukee anyways.

    I should know better than to debate a stat guru like you, but really?!? He's doing exactly what he was expected to do? Defensively maybe, but I'm not so sure about offensively. Actually, he doing about exactly what I expected him to do. His power numbers have been good, but a .231 average and a .320 OBP are both below his both below his career average. I didn't like the signing of Cameron from the beginning. A 35 year old on the down side of his career coming off a year with a .241 avg and .328 OBP did not appeal to me. However, everyone kept arguing that his numbers were depressed by the Petco Park effect. His BA and OBP are worse this year than last year at Petco.

    How about a day at the dog races - Dairyland? Or, if you want to travel a little further, you could go down to Arlington Park for horse races (although the quality of horses there are not nearly what they were 20 years ago.). Races are run rain or shine (dogs and horses). Several years ago. I planned a bachelor party for a friend. We stopped at a strip club at one point in the night. One of the guys would not go in because he had strict orders from his wife not to go to any strip clubs. Yikes. What do women think happens in these strip clubs? Nothing they should really be concerned about, at least not in places like Silk and OTB.

    I don't mean to be cynical. I really enjoy what Attanasio has done. He's seems like a genuine fan, not just an owner. However, Bud Selig was a hero at one time in Milwaukee (in my eyes he still is). The fans loved him when he brought baseball back to Milwaukee. The fans loved him when he brought guys like Sutton, Simmons, and Fingers to Milwaukee and the Brewers went to the WS. The fans really rallied around him when he fought for a new stadium (I still remember being at a game around that time. He came out on the Mezzenine level of County Stadium. Some fans noticed him, and soon the stadium was giving him a standing ovation). Yet after all of that, there are some Brewer fans that have nothing but bad things to say about him and his tenure as a owner of the Brewers. I just hope fans remember these days and the efforts that Attanasio is making to bring a winner to Milwaukee in the future when he does or does not do something that angers Brewer fans. That day will come, it always does...especially for a small market club.

    I'm pretty sure the answer to this is obvious, but I just want to confirm. Let's say there is an infield fly rule situation. The batter hits an infield pop up that is right above the 1st base line. The umpire signals for the infield fly rule, not know if the ball will land foul or fair. For whatever reason (bad communication, error, sun, wind, etc) the ball falls untouched just on the foul side of the foul line (and stays in foul territory). Now, normally when the umpire signals for an infield fly, the batter is automatically out. However, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that the batter can't be out on a ball that falls in foul territory and if the pop up was clearly in foul territory to begin with the umpire would not have called for an infield fly rule (since there would really be no need to call it). I'm guessing that the ruling on this would be that the infield fly that was called by the ump would be reversed and it would just be ruled a foul ball and the batter would continue to bat (and not be out). Correct?

    It never ceases to amaze me how critical people are of sports announcers and writers. There are very few, if any, sports announcers who have ever really annoyed me. It sound like people don't want these guys to attempt any humor, excitement, comments, or anything...just call the game... There's a swing and a miss....... The score is Philadelphia 5 LA 2....... There's a ball...... It's the bottom of the 6th...... There's a ground ball to the short stop...... He's throws him out. There are 2 outs...... Jeff Kent will be the next batter.....There's a HR. I realize that these guys are not always funny and sometimes they say some pretty stupid things, but I don't find it annoying and I'm a guy who's pretty easily annoyed. I guess I just don't dwell on it enough to be annoyed by the things they say and definitely not by the way someone chooses to call a HR.

    Thanks again for all the suggestions. Even thought we have already seen many of the movies mentioned. There are some interesting new ones (there has not been many mentioned that I have not seen and did not already think of introducing my son to.) I'm putting together a nice little list from Miracle is still on the top of my list. Went to Blockbuster yesterday to get it, but it was checked out. "Because of Winn-Dixie" sounds pretty interesting as well. Some of the movies suggested, I know my son would like, but I would have a hard time sitting through. For example, I really have no desire to see any of the Spider Man movies(I'm pretty sure my son has already seen 1 or 2 of those movies, I know he has the video game). By the way TLB, my son watched the Star Wars movies in story order.

    Took a look and was surprised to see that the offer was not overly restrictive. So many of those golf "deals" have terms like "Valid after 2pm Mon-Thurs. Not Valid Friday-Sunday". There was some sort of Wisconsin golf club several years ago (not sure if it still is around today), that cost an annual fee to join ($100 or something like that) and advertised "Free Golf!" at dozens of Wisconsin courses. However, if you delved into the small print a little more, there were so many restrictions and "free" actually meant 2 for 1.

    I believe they where their regular team hats, but wear all-star jerseys. I know they use to all wear their normal uniforms, but I think that changed not too long ago.

    Um...when is the starting pitcher going to be announced? How hard of a decision is it? Did I miss it?

    Uugghhh! I can't believe I missed it! I just assumed it was on tonight. I sit down turn on ESPN and find out the there is a Rockies/Mets game on instead. Oh well, I guess I need to visit the minor league forum more often.

    I didn't have to teach my son to hate the Cubs, it came quite naturally...even though his Grandpa is a lifelong Cubs fan. He hates the Cubs much more than I do. My son is on the U10 Waukesha Firebirds. We play in the M.A.J.O.R. league. I'm guessing you guys play in the State league (Hartland Hawks? maybe?). We chose the league we are in because they play real baseball with lead offs, dropped 3rd strike, etc at the U10 level. We played out in Cooperstown in June and they play under the real baseball rules out there, so we needed to get some experience with that before we went out there.

    I would not agree with this at all ifyou have a county card. Brown Deer is definitly best for price if you have a county card (if you don't that's a different story). I use to belong to Whitnall men's club (didn't golf there much, just joined the closest club because you had to in order to participate in the County Championship in late August). I have not joined for the past couple of years because I have not been able to get out as much. Prior to two years ago I spent a considerable amount of time on the county golf courses. Dretzka and Oakwood are very similar as far as how well they are kept up. If it's a hot dry summer, they both can get in brutal shape with lot's of dirt patches and burnt out areas and it can be a very dissapointing golfing experience. Dretzka is hillier than Oakwood and maybe slightly more challanging. For whatever reason, I have always enjoyed Oakwood better and have found it to sometimes be in better shape than Dretzka. If anyone is ever looking for a course to take a young child to or even a spouse who is not really serious about golf, a nice little par 3 is Valley Green in Muskego (Basically take Forest Home (becomes Cape Rd) out past Hwy 100 about 3 miles (?) on the left. It's basically a little bar with a make shift 9 hole course and very small greens. This was the perfect place to take my son when he was about 6,7, 8 years old. It's just a bunch of hackers and it's kind of mini golf mentality in regards to pace of play, but it's usually not very crowded.

    My son really got into Star Wars about a year and a half ago. I think they had all of them back to back on Cinemax and I DVRed them and we would watch a different one each night. Prior to that he hated Star Wars. Not sure why..just did. I think one reason is because he went to a b-day party one year expecting tit o be goofy and run around and have fun typical kids party. However, it was a Star Wars themed B-Day and for most of the party they sat and watched Star Wars. I was never a huge Star Wars fan, but I enjoyed it when I was younger and it first came out. When I finally got him to sit down and watch it, he got hooked. He likes the older ones better than the newer episodes. It was Star Wars 24/7 for a few months at one point, but he has moved on now. Around the same time he was getting into Star Wars, Spaceballs was on one of the chanels. He was in the other room. I was about to call him in, but then they started to get into some material that made me think twice about whether he was really old enough to watch it.

    I wouldn't count him being much more affordable. He'll be as affordable as whatever the Yankees or Red Sox decide they want to pay him. If he finishes the season strong and healthy..that could be quite a large some of money.

    Yeah I have heard that. That's the one course I have not played yet, that I would love to play. I think someone mentioned that they have some ridiculous carries on some of the holes...one of them being 200+ yards and that's not from the back tees from what I understand. I'm wondering how it compares to Erin Hills. I golfed there a couple of weeks ago. We used a fore caddy who was very good. I swear, without him, there would have been at least another 10 strokes added to my score. There are so many blind shots and the greens are just crazy as far as undulations go.

    Hmm..I'm sure I have heard of this before, but do you have any more details on contract insurance? I'm assuming they generally take it out to cover for long-term injuries. Is it common for all contracts or is it usually just used in cases where the player has a history of injuries? I'm assuming that it would be relatively expensive for a guy with Sheet's history.
