  1. I'll stop over there after work tonight. Last year I went there with intention to spend on game used stuff, and thought then it was over priced. I started looking around and picking out shirts, etc when I thought to myself "Do I really need another shirt?" put everything back. This year I might see if there is any hats that stand out, outside of that I probably won't get anything.
  2. Still crazy money for a set up guy, I suppose there's a chance he could close down the line
  3. Curious as to who you are collecting, post some scans if you can!
  4. Interesting. I don't know if it could grab repeat visitors, but I'm not putting the idea down. http://expressmilwaukee.com/blog-10958-bobblehead-hall-of-fame-in-milwaukee.html Milwaukee may become home to the world’s largest collection of bobbleheads! Co-founders of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, CEO Phil Sklar and President Brad Novak, announced their intention to establish a physical bobblehead museum in Milwaukee by 2016. Several potential locations are being evaluated at this time. The planned museum will display the world’s largest collection of bobbleheads and bobblehead-related exhibits, with the collection anticipated to feature about 10,000 baseball, basketball, football and pop culture figures by the time the facility opens. The Hall will also have ample room for special events, a store containing bobbleheads and Hall of Fame and Museum merchandise and a Bobblehead Bar and Grill with a bobblehead-themed, locally sourced menu. “We are very excited to bring such a unique venue to the great city of Milwaukee,” says Sklar. “Milwaukee is such a unique city, is centrally located and has a long sports history, making it a perfect location for collectors and fans around the world to gather for the ultimate bobblehead experience.” It all started with Novak, who began collecting bobbleheads while a member of the Rockford River Hawks’ staff in 2002. By 2012, Novak’s personal collection exceeded 500 and reached well over 1,000 by March of 2014. Sklar and Novak, friends and roommates who’ve known each other since middle school, took their shared love of the nodding figurines and developed a bobblehead of their friend, Michael Poll (longtime manager for Milwaukee Panther athletic teams and Special Olympics), to help raise money for the Special Olympics—and with much success. From this exciting experience, they launched the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum website and started a Kickstarter campaign to gage the community’s support of the idea with the hopes of raising $250,000 for the project. Donations and pre-sale memberships are currently being accepted. The first 20,000 people who sign up for membership will receive a limited edition Founding Member Bobblehead, with the first 1,500 members receiving an individually-numbered gold edition. Additional perks of membership will include exclusive access to online content, voting rights on which bobbleheads make it into the hall of fame, an annual mascot bobblehead, VIP access to the National Bobblehead Convention, unlimited museum admission and more. “The excitement and membership pre-sales during the pre-launch efforts have been tremendous. Becoming a member or helping to fund the museum through the museum’s Kickstarter campaign will help us build the highest quality Hall of Fame and Museum possible,” Novak says. 5. Yes. My friend works for a company that creates mascots for teams all over the country. Last season he created the Hank mascot that will be regularly seen in 2015. They already debuted it at Hank bobblehead day, but by MLB policy new mascots can only make one appearance if it is created during the season, that's why you didn't see it roaming around after that.
  6. I tend to listen to Chuck and Wickett in the morning, but it's only for a bit. I like those guys, but I can see why it drives others nuts. Wickett isn't all that funny majority of the time. If I get the chance, I'll listen to the Dan Patrick show on the Big 920. I used to listen to Jim Rome all the time, but when Jay Mohr got his own show, and Romes schtick grew tired. I loved listening to Jay Mohr Sports on 920 each day at lunch, but now that they have the time change, I'll rarely get to hear him anymore, especially since I'll have to stream it on Fox Sports Radio. I'll listen to the Big Show, but agreed Gary and LeRoy don't really know what they're talking about. I listen to the MOJO show after Big Show while making dinner, sometimes I'll stream Petros and Money. I used to hate Farrell on the Bench, but I got over his voice being ridiculous, and I generally enjoy his takes.
  7. I tend to agree, which is exactly why I got out. It became more work/hassle than fun. I just try to get the couple I like, and not worry about getting them all. I haven't checked the schedule yet, so maybe this has changed, but if the Brewers were looking to get more people in seats, why not do the giveaways on a Tuesday or Wednesday? Midweek attendance is generally lower than weekend attendance. Then put those giveaways against teams that don't bring as much of a draw, like the Padres, Rockies, etc. That's just my two cents. I really need to stop chiming in on this same recycled conversation. We all know the Brewers won't be giving away less bobbles, or doing away with alternatives. It might be either time to accept it and enjoy the hobby, or just walk away and save yourself the stress.
  8. I snag some here and there, but I have no idea which ones I even need anymore. Oh well, happy hunting to those still in it. Who knows how the new affiliates will handle giveaways too.
  9. I'd check Stubhub especially if you are coming in from outta town. You wanna make sure you have something locked in, not flying into town and hoping. Good luck.
  10. who are the balls signed by?
  11. So let's get to the real heart of the issue. Can metal detectors pick up on people pocketing a can of beer into the game?
  12. Darryl Hamilton 1988 Fleer Update in black sharpie, and Diego Segui 1969 and 1970 Topps (Played for the Pilots, and while he has a 1970 Pilots (Brewers) card he was traded before actually playing a game with the Brewers). The Hamilton return rate is basically zero since early 2011. Of the 13 requests sent, I'm the only one to get a return. BOOM!
  13. I'm guessing the team discussed their favorite fried chicken to eat and video games to play during actual games.
  14. Who cares about the Brewers at this point. ^^^^ THIS I have tickets to the Marlins game this week, and the only reason I'm going is because my wife doesn't think she's ever seen the Marlins before. I'm done with this season, thank god the Packers are here so I can save my sanity.
  15. Yeah, this tread should pretty much be buried. There's no post season for this team.
  16. Give it a few weeks when the market is flooded. You'll find one for 20. By the end of the 2015 season, 10-15.
  17. I got my renewal form too. I'll wait to see what they have before I buy. Chances are I won't be. I liked how they didn't force you to go to all the games to get them, but 10 more is ridiculous. Let's just chalk it up to 11 since they always have an opening day bobble as well.
  18. Got there about 8:15-8:30. As said, he signed anything people wanted him too. With the line being so short and the signing being close to my house I ran home to get an old Brewers jersey to get the front signed, but he wouldn't sign a second item until 12:15. Waited around until 12:15 to find out he would only take a picture. I wasn't going to complain, just wish they hadn't changed their tune, as by this point my wife had run out of patience and she was then pretty frustrated since she wanted to go home after we got through the line at 10:45. I think I will put this more on BBC than Lucroy.
  19. I saw that Lucroy would have prints available, figured that it was an alternative if you had no other items. Looks like I can sleep in on my Saturday.
  20. Greg Brock on two 87 Topps Traded cards in blue sharpie. This was the second time I wrote him, as the first time he musta just moved from Milwaukee out west. Got this one back in about a week.
  21. Rich Rollins on 69 Topps in blue, and 70 Topps in black. Also just realized I forgot about the Scooter signing today. Grrr.
  22. I still have four extras. If anyone would like to trade for anything lemme know. I know these aren't the most sought after of the year, so I'm pretty open to anything from this year or the last few.
