  1. What happened to all the boxes? Inbox me about the Uecker Indians, please.
  2. I was at all those games except #1. We thought about going, but were stuck at an all day staff meeting. By the time it was over, we decided to just go to Point's East and drink cheap beers and get wings. The energy there (and probably every other popular bar) was electric though.
  3. To go right along with rwa's tip, got Lucroy back, the entire signature was pressed on the envelope, came RIGHT off the card. No sign that Lucroy ever signed it, except that it's on the envelope. Heh.
  4. MJ. As time goes on, I think Michael's music will continue to live on, whereas People will know about Elvis, but not go crazy about him (except maybe in Vegas).
  5. It's pretty cool you can get the photos done that fast. Do you take em during BP or the first few innings then race over before the end of the game? How much does it cost to print out an 8x10? Good recap.
  6. Great tip rwa! I'll give that a try next time I send some out!
  7. I kinda got tired of writing to Brewers (though I still am), and wanted to pick up a new project...I've been writing to players of all sports who have been parts of historic games, plays, feats, etc. I've gotten about 20 or so back. I'll post em sometime soon.
  8. Silicon Valley is great. We've been watching that a lot lately.
  9. This is incredibly sad. I remember seeing him play, but more so recently calling games while Uecker was out. I thought he was a great fill in. This is incredibly sad news.
  10. I have two extra tickets I'm looking to sell for $35 for the pair. Normally $26 each. Lemme know by 4pm if you are interested. Thanks - Corey
  11. At the school I teach at we have a locked gate for the staff parking lot. However, we have a lot of people coming in and out from outside our school for training seminars and various meetings within the district. These people come in and ALWAYS leave the gate wide open. Cars get broken into and sometimes stolen. Drives me nuts they don't seem to know or care this happens. Then at the end of the day they don't know the code to get through the gate to the parking lot, or the code to drive out of the parking gate. So the teachers here have to sit there and watch em fumble around trying to punch in the code until they get out and ask us what it is (which none of us know because we all have swipe cards). The only consolation is that a lot of times I just close the walk in gate as they're 100 yards away and go to my car to watch em get locked out of the lot. Sorry, had to vent on this.
  12. I usually only get up to a game or two there a year. We tend to go on Thursdays when beer is cheaper. I work most Sundays driving Pedal Tavern, so I won't get the opportunity to do autographs. The Brewers On Deck usually has all the top prospects signing and most of em are pretty easy to get, though they will only sign one item. I tend to wait until guys are basically guaranteed to make the bigs before I go after em.
  13. As summer approaches I have a lot of time on my hands and am planning on writing letters to athletes that have been part of amazing plays, games and getting their signature to commemorate those plays. However, I need some ideas outside of obvious events like no hitters (though I'm writing to those players as well). This applies to all sports, so feel free to think outside the box. Keep in mind Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Willie Mays type players don't sign through the mail. Examples include: Bert Campaneris (Playing all 9 positions) Kevin Dyson (Music City Miracle / One Yard Short) Red Berenson (Double Hat Trick) Gale Sayers (6 TDs) Ryan Minor (Replaced Cal Ripken at 3rd) Ron Blomberg (Last MLB player without a batting helmet) Those types of events. Thanks!
  14. I'll go see it, possibly multipe times this season depending on who I'm with at the game. As rickh150 said, I wonder what they'll do in a few years once they feel everyone has seen it, and the number of people going through during the game really drops off. I can't imagine this will be an attraction that can last over the course of time, and now that Selig's tenure is done, I don't think anything can be added to it.
  15. If you looked around on eBay, etc it might be a tough find elsewhere. The only other place I could think of would be Amazon. I suppose it's possible to contact the Brewers directly and see if they have any stored away somewhere, but I realize that's kinda a hassle for both parties. If for some reason I run across something, I'll letcha know. What size are you looking for? The other option is to get him the Craig Counsell bobblehead with him wearing that jersey. Now that he's manager that makes it kinda cool, too. I'm sure those are pretty cheap online.
  16. Jason, outta curiosity, what are you mostly getting rid of? Bobbles? Autos? Cards?
  17. I'd think Gomez will have a great shot at it in July, but the original question was if the game was this week who'd get in.
  18. That's a great story splitterpfj, I always enjoyed those interviews. I dunno how you got a hold of some of those guys, but always thought it was cool that our little site had a bunch of insiders. I remember before twitter, I would look at this page daily and would know that Corey Hart or Ryan Braun was coming to the majors the night before the Brewers or JSOnline announced it. The mid 2000s was a very cool time for this site.
  19. Lind, but KRod could just as easily get in.
  20. I believe they still have Autograph night on either Friday or Saturday for kids. They used to have a few block parties a summer, but that got to be too much hassle. They'd give out random tickets, and you could get either a Trevor Hoffman, or a Chad Moeller. I'm sure a buncha people complained and they ended it. Or the autograph hounds ruined it by figuring out a scam to get whoever they wanted.
  21. Matt, your basement is incredible. Looking forward to moving in fall so I can build up my rec room. Got some great ideas from your setup.
  22. Randy Wolf in black marker on 2010 Topps (marker bled a lot though, these new shiny cards suck for autos) Mitch Stetter in black marker on 2008 Topps Heritage and answered my questions.
  23. Yeah, I'm used to typing Brewers....and was in a hurry. Good lookin out.
  24. http://onlyagame.wbur.org/2015/04/25/oakland-athletics-mlb-lowest-attendance?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=2015042 This is an interesting short article. I never knew about this until seeing it today. EDIT: Force of habit, listed the wrong team initially. Ha
  25. I was at that game. We were tailgating outside, we started packing up and thought we'd get in there in the top of the 2nd, we got in and it was 6-0 with 0 outs. Our seats were first level behind the Twins dugout and we still contemplated leaving. Instead we just drank heavily the rest of the game. I was gonna say Carlos Lee, I also remember Brady Clark getting booed on Opening Day against the Dodgers in 2007. Carlos Lee getting booed bothered me a lot. I booed Sheffield every chance I got, but I never booed former players just to boo them. Milwaukee fans can be pretty intolerant and stupid at times.
