  1. Turbo, Think about it over the weekend, lemme know which ones you think need updating, i'll do the same, and we'll go from there. (I don't really wanna change the Iceman for now, who knows whats going on with that one)
  2. Here's the basic backstory I got from the Collectors Universe board: The scam artist: 1. Joined the BO forum June of 2012 2. Gave out free codes, Topps I assume, in July and August. 3. Buys a few 2 figure items in September (People leave feedback) 4. Buys a few 3 figure items in October (People leave feedback saying he's the best) 5. Gives out 2 and 3 figure items out for free or very cheap in November (People say he's the second coming of Tim Tebow) So by this time he's known for having a very high end collection, a lot of money and is the most trusted person on BO forum (Take it he's been on the forum for less than 6 months) In November he may have given out $1000 in free/reduced cards. 6. Sells 4 figure lots to people in December and for some reason people are sending this guy 3 figure and 4 figure amounts for "mystery" lots.......apparently almost $20,000...... 7. He disappears
  3. I just spent my entire lunch break reading this. Turbo, I know you've run into a few hard times with Craigslist, hopefully this will help you feel better as your losses were pretty minimal.... It starts here with four pages of great deals: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/football-singles-buy-sell-trade/412097-great-mood-holiday-lots-part-ii-10.html And then 55 pages of chaos continues here: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/member-sales-trade-feedback/415488-haiku-suspended-rumors-massive-scam-emerge.html WOW.
  4. The only records I bought that came out this year was Head On Electric: Sleep Slaughter Sheep: LP (Milwaukee Grunge Punk) Jean Claude Jam Band: Discography: Cassette Neon Piss: S/T: Cassette There just hasn't been anything new that I've thought was worth getting. I saw King Tuff this year and its alright, but nothing great, more or less Ramonesy-pop-garage-punk. Like Nobunny, but probably better. (Sorry, my friends go nuts for that band, and I'm still not sure why). Each year I get more and more jaded about punk bands that are starting up. There's only a few that really stand out to me anymore, and unfortunately they don't release stuff every year. (ie Marked Men, Future Virgins, Ted Leo) I've found myself going back and finding bands from the 80's and 90's that I can't stop listening to. (Goo Goo Dolls - Hold Me Up probably lands in my top 25. Nothing like more recent GGD stuff, so great!) Otherwise, If anyone has any suggestions from that era, lemme know.
  5. I'm all set on that one. There was a time when I woulda got the Attanasio bobble if the right price came along (and it did, but a missed phone call cost me). I haven't checked to see what the price of this one is, but I'll guess it's going around 350-400. I agree with JimHS, I just don't think that it'll hold that much value in 10 years. I'll eat my words if I'm wrong, but the Prince Beloit and blue Molitor have dropped in value, and a lot of other bobbles drop by the following season. I know this one is among the most rare, but give it time and we'll see where we're at. Side note: Sometime in the next few weeks I might be looking for help to update the bobblehead price guide. I don't think majority of them will be touched, but a handful of newer ones may need some tinkering. Lemme know if any of you interested in putting your two cents in.
  6. Was this an ebay find? For your sake along with Milwaukee's I hope he does pan out. I'm guessing that you didn't have to drop a fortune to get 200 of em, but can I ask how much it ran you?
  7. they're all out. they said try back after the holidays are over. mid january they'll start deciding what to reorder...
  8. i'm heading over to the keg right after work. i'm assuming they're sold out, but if they got some back in stock, i'll pick it up for ya. we can figure something out later.
  9. It also drives me up a wall when people try to throw "AKA" into facebook or message board posts. Proper use: "I'm going to Miller Park AKA The Keg" Improper use: "I'm going to brewerfan.net AKA that's when I get all hammered and post things on the drunk thread" How hard is it to just re-read "also known as" to see if that makes sense. It's not that difficult, yet people screw it up constantly.
  10. We moved two months ago and while I shoulda known better, found out this morning that our street has same side parking. so my day started out with a $20 parking ticket. that's not how Fridays should begin. It just ain't right.
  11. I'm with Jim. I can't see you getting more than 10 for it if you were to sell it. It looks nice, but most commerative stuff just doesn't go for much. Rawlings special edition baseballs (World Series, ASG, etc) Get some value over time, but that's about all I can come up with.
  12. I'm still kicking myself for not getting an Auerbach #19 jersey from On Deck 5 or 6 years ago for 20 bucks....
  13. Agreed on Axford and Yo's signature, both are great. I think Braun does a good job of making his sig look like it belongs to him. I guess I can't blame guys to an extent, my signature gets about three letters from my first name and two from my last name...and all I have to sign is hall passes.
  14. @Hawing: BOOM!!!!
  15. Were they handing out the bottles at the register, or could you buy them? I didn't see any on the floor when I was there last night....
  16. I didn't see any when I was there yesterday...I woulda got one had I did. I'm kinda thinking I didn't look hard enough, or they were gone by the time I got there....
  17. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/181583071.html I remember when Parra made his debut from the bullpen and struck out 2 of the three guys he faced. Based on that and his minor league numbers we thought we were watching an ace in the making. Woof.
  18. I usually look at the bats and game worn hats, but I was in a hurry and didn't have the budget I usually have there so I didn't even go look at the game used stuff much so I wasn't tempted. I saw a KRod gamer for 200 looking through the jerseys though. I woulda probably gone for a Morgan jersey, but I think they'll hold off on those a bit, or what they had was gone by the time I got there at 4:45 last night. Grabbed a fitted black/white ball and glove hat, and a womens short brimmed hat for my wife. On the way out I saw they had the authentic numbers and letters, so for 5 bucks plus the pressing cost (he said 10-20) I will be turning my blank BP jersey into an Aoki one. Will any of you be hanging up the Bill Hall stadium banner from the side of your home? They had him, Kendall, Counsell, and a few other ones. Anyone come up with anything they'd like to share?
  19. Biggio is a first ballot HOFer. I'd vote for him, Raines, Piazza, and Cirillo just to garuantee he gets a vote from someone.
  20. Was it signed by the team pre or post Greinke trade? I'd say anywhere between 150-250, but it really depends on what EVERYONE means. Fiers, Rogers, Peralta, Thornburg, and Estrada on there or is it Wolf, Narveson, Marcum and Greinke, a combination of these guys or all of em? If Greinke is on there, then Segura probably isn't. Is Kottaras on there, because Maldinado would probably be preferred auto. Most guys will put their number on a team ball, it'd be a little more helpful if you went through and said who was all on there. Also, is it smudged at all? That can happen with 25 guys playing with the same ball if the ink isn't set yet. Finally, is Roenicke the sweet spot or is it a star player like Braun or Greinke? That would actually pull the value down.
  21. there were a few in there that I liked. they weren't anything earth shattering, but for a one day uniform, there's a lot worse out there. I kinda wanted to submit something, but I'm terrible with graphic arts on a computer, I used to do a lot of lettering and was considering doing something freehand, but it doesn't look like I can. Oh well, the chances of me winning are pretty slim anyway. Good luck to those of you that do compete!
  22. Oh yah, when you get off the freeway to River Road, turn around and go about 3-4 blocks away from the convention center and there is 14 hour parking for 5 bucks. I'll never park across the street from the convention center again.
  23. Jim, did you find any good stuff? I submitted like 70 cards to PSA. I picked up a pretty nice 56 Spahn card to complete my Braves team set from this year, and a good 57 Mathews, the centering is a little off but the corners are sharp as ever for 20. Was gonna pull the trigger on a 53 Topps Mathews, but couldn't find anyone who'd give me a decent price on those Notre Dame programs I mentioned before.
  24. My one goal of this show is to find alternative parking. I'm going alone, and 12 bucks for that place isn't worth it at all. If I find anything, I'll post it for you KC
  25. Jays aren't slowing down. Melky gets a two year deal. http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/eye-on-baseball/21011594/report-blue-jays-to-sign-melky-cabrera-to-2-year-16-million-deal
