    Offense is in the high strikeout mode again of late……they managed to put up 4 runs somehow anyway but that’s not the recipe for success for this team………everybody had a hand in it.

    Again not a big deal but Murph is clearly just friggin around with these games…….if winning was a priority he never would have run Gordon out there for a 5th inning in a tie game…’with a rested bullpen……no matter how he had pitched in the previous 4 which certainly was impressive. i guess rest is the top.priority right now.

    Hoerner is well below the leaders in both outs above average and defensive runs saved…….would be shocked if he won it this year.

    Won’t read the thread…….I’m sure it’s filled with wisdom……. My main take from the game………DLfreaking Hall…….and Mitchell’s defense saved the game. I was not a fan of pitching a guy lost and searching for confidence in a leverage situation to see what would happen. I know our magic number for the bye was only 2 but when your ahead 3-0 in the 7th and the bye is not yet clinched manage to win the game. I don’t 2nd guess often but I didn’t like the decision at all. Win number 98 baby…….100 in sight!

    Tampa fixed Freddy……..and no I’m not mad we didn’t get him back…….Stearns couldn’t have done that and kept his job…….or maybe his life in NY……I’m just happy for Freddy…..hopefully he gets a decent contract

    Actually it’s best to judge most trades over an even longer period than that. Harrison trade looked lopsided in our favor for most of the season…….now it doesn’t…..by next year and the year after it might look different again. The Burns trade has looked better and better over time. Obviously with May and Romero being rentals that trade will be evaluated based on this years results for us…….but nobody bats 1000,,,,,,I understand why Arnold did it…….so 2nd guessing is a game I don’t like to play. If it didn’t work……so be it…….not the first and won’t be the last……his resume looks awfully good in aggregate.
