  1. Looks like it was the Cubs who, would pay anything
  2. I hate when my gut turns out to be right………😕
  3. Astros still could be a factor I suppose ……..but obviously good news
  4. I mean he’s supposed to be a journalist…….yet he clearly is an advocate for the Mets………openly rooting for big market teams to get whatever they want…….how about just a neutral article about how the process is playing out? Is that too much to ask?
  5. Heyman says CC expected to make his decision in the next day or 2…….its in a cheerleading article that the Mets should spare no expense to go get him………god I hate the sports media.
  6. I like Wade too but I’m not sure how he gets paid significant money…….he's 37 and since 2018 he has been an every other season guy as far as being healthy. 2018 80 innings 2019 167 2020 14 2021 163 2022 37 2023 120
  7. I think,he is assuming that if the Brewers expect to compete next season…….( they typically do but we will see) they aren’t going to want Rae and Houser as the 4 and 5 men in the rotation without any minor league options for either guy. if one of them could go up and down like last season it’s a different decision……..
  8. I’ll be interested to see the terms
  9. Those pesky debits and credits eventually have to even out……or so I learned when I took high school accounting. 🤷‍♂️
  10. You don’t say?
  11. According to Woody it wasn’t a big tear….. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2023/10/31/brandon-woodruff-milwaukee-brewers-starting-pitcher-goals-post-surgery/71392038007/
  12. Woody on the Foul Territory podcast has not yet spoken with the Brewers about next season…..said that will happen soon. paraphrasing “The brewers drafted and developed me ….I’ve been so fortunate to be with one organization and one coaching staff for my entire career. I understand how the business works……I’ll make this clear….I fit in so well with this city and this organization…….and my hope is to be a Brewer for a long time….that’s what I want”
  13. Good rundown in the Athletic from former Brewers beat writer Will Sammon https://theathletic.com/4999030/2023/10/25/mets-interview-craig-counsell-manager/
  14. Melvin was under contract and the Padres were ready to move on…by all accounts he and Prellar didn’t see eye to eye…that is a totally different situation ….with CC being a free agent and still being wanted by his hometown employer. He still could leave obviously but to read into it as a “done deal” is just your emotions leading you to your biggest fear.
  15. I don’t see Yelich being a primary DH next season. i see him as the everyday left fielder with some time at DH along with others. Unless he proves capable of moving to first…….no reason to think that is likely but I guess it’s possible.
