I don't care what other team's fans think. And neither should the Brewers. CC's job is to get us to the Postseason healthy after locking up the division and playoff seeding. Just yesterday the Dodgers lost Clayton Kershaw, possibly for the season. That alone should be incentive enough for us to see the virtue of the play-it-safe approach for these very very meaningless games at this point. Yep……you play everyone everyday and pitch guys regular innings with no rest and someone gets hurt and you get crucified…….you play it safe and then perform poorly in the playoffs and people will assume it’s because you rested guys…… No win situation.
-
Hard to believe but at present the Braves have hit more homers then the Dodgers……….
-
Yeah I didn’t think they Would start Buehler……by my count 6 scoreless will do,it for him
-
Yep…..CC decided Corbin was going to win the era title. First in Brewers history.
-
Had a 5-1 lead yesterday in the 5th. Trea Turner ran into one and made it a completely different game. Stuff happens. They'll get over it. All Giants had to do is 1 of the last vs Padres to clinch it…..they have their best pitcher going tomorrow against sole nobody……if they don’t hold on they won’t blame the Brewers…..it’s all,in their hands,

Maybe CC just wanted to make sure he won the era title? According to Sophia he’s at 2.43 now……Scherzer finished at 2.46 I’m probably reaching

Well let’s hope this is precautionary or we are in deep trouble in the post season.
-
I’m no more thrilled then you are about losing lots of games recently but if we are being honest CC hasn’t managed any of the games this week with winning as the top.priority. Just look at the lineups…..the innings that the starters have pitched…..and who pitched in relief in tie games . Maybe we would have lost them all anyway but bottom line is we haven’t really tried to win once we had it clinched.

Check that, Corbin Burnes gave up one home run with multiple runners on base in the first 311 2/3 innings *in his career.* He just gave up a three-run homer to Justin Turner in the first inning of Burnes' 2021 regular-season finale. From Tom H

Dodgers hitting homers at an insane clip recently…….even against a guy who doesn’t give them up
-
I know it was a joke but that didn’t turn out like you hoped.
-
#Brewers manager Craig Counsell still has TBA for starter tomorrow but he did say neither Freddy Peralta or Brandon Woodruff would pitch. Prefers rest for them entering playoffs.
-
Rowdy back …..Hiura gone #Brewers reinstate 1B Rowdy Tellez from 10-day IL and option Keston Hiura back to Class AAA Nashville. Hiura is from the LA area and his family is here, including his mother, in remission from cancer. So, not looking for him to go anywhere but home.

I predicted this on the board a couple of days ago……nice to get one right once in awhile. #Brewers reinstate 1B Rowdy Tellez from 10-day IL and option Keston Hiura back to Class AAA Nashville. Hiura is from the LA area and his family is here, including his mother, in remission from cancer. So, not looking for him to go anywhere but home.

Brewers vs. Braves NLDS Matchup Preview
markedman5 replied to Eye Black's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
Going to be a tough series……Fried and Morton matchup well vs Burnes and Woody. Our offense needs to wake up or I think the Braves score enough to win a closely contested series. Hope I’m wrong. -
Dodgers are a 220 favorite………considering how good Lauer has been that seems a bit high to me….but then again Dodgers are playing great and need this one badly.
-
Fried and Morton have been lights out in the 2nd half of the season. Going to be very tough to score in games with those guys against Burnes and Woody.
-
Rowdy Tellez walks in the 9th and leaves for a pinch-runner. He went 1-for-3 with a 3-run HR and 2 walks in his second on rehab assignment for the #Brewers with the @nashvillesounds, who lead Indianapolis 8-3.
-
3 run homer tonight for Rowdy
-
I think the writer is way over reading how people in Milwaukee will react to this harmless joke. I wasn’t offended in the least by this light hearted attempt at humor.
-
Classy to the end……..like I said….nothing but respect for him
-
I won’t be surprised if Hiura is optioned when Rowdy gets added back this weekend.
-
Burnes is pitching Saturday not tomorrow.
-
CC was asked in post game about bringing up Hiura……he said we want to get guys some rest and we “ needed another body”. Nobody should read anything into this.
-
Obviously you’d rather he was just a better pitcher…….but I’ve always liked guys who don’t try to sugarcoat who they are when talking to the media. It’s refreshing Brett Anderson isn't bothered by the uncertainty of whether he'll crack the NLDS roster. "That’s how the postseason works. It’s a good problem to have, five really good starters and whatever I am.”
