Can’t see any chance that CC starts Lauer.......career success doesn’t mean much to me when the guy has been as bad as he’s been this season. There are no great options........I’m going with Suter for 3 or 4 and then decide how to.proceed from there based on the score. If we can some how get a lead after 5 I’d definitely consider Williams in the 6 and 7th and Hader 8 and 9. Might as well go down swinging with your best guys.

Your love of Houser is interesting considering how poorly he’s pitched. We don’t have great options......but all hands on deck for 3 days is the only chance we have. We don’t have a bunch of sub 3 era bullpen guys.......but Housers era is 5.40 and much worse then that after his first 2 starts which were months ago....... PS since neither you or I are making the decision it will be interesting to see what CC decides to do.

Suter makes sense because he has pitched better then the other guys......with our offense getting behind early is a killer. Dodgers ops vs lefties is much worse then vs righties. Houser stinks right now......he shouldn’t start a playoff game if it can be avoided. Ps Houser and Lindblom starts are really bullpen games as well......

On short rest? I think it will be a bullpen game on Wednesday and then Woody game 2. Yeah no reason to pitch Woody on short rest......he can only pitch 1 game......want him rested.

If the Brewers and Giants both finish 30-30 and the Cardinals are at 29-29 wouldn’t the Cardinals still have to go to Detroit to win at least one game in order to make the playoffs over the Giants and win two games in order to finish ahead of the Brewers for WC1 (in which case the Brewers would be WC2)? If Cards win the first game and don’t have to play the second because they’ve clinched a spot they would have a better winning percentage then Brewers so would be wc1. -
I didn’t want to come here and jinx it........what a stud performance from Woody......best I’ve ever seen him....used all of his pitches perfectly.......just enough offense against a tough pitcher. Meaningful baseball to the last day!
