  1. Aren’t inter-division off-season trades pretty rare? I just don’t remember many trades involving major league pieces between the Brewers and the Cubs/Cards/Reds/Pirates ........trading deadline deals when one team is out of it sure......but just don’t think it is at all likely that Cubs will trade him within the division.......unless of course we overpaid. As always I could be wrong......but I will be surprised if he ends up in the NL central if they move him.
  2. Brewers didn’t sign Yelich to trade him after 1 bad season.
  3. I just looked up YouTube tv......64.99 per month...’.Sling costs between $30-45. So assuming you were going to pay 30-65 to not have the Brewers.......$70 a month to get the Brewers seems pretty reasonable to me.
  4. Josh Bell traded to Nationals
  5. Yep....I have Directv for the same reason....willing to pay more. I'm not missing the Brewers or the Bucks to save a little money.
  6. He’s planning on playing per CC
  7. Not a rumor according to Angels beat writer
  8. Joel Sherman @Joelsherman1 · 1h Hearing that #Brewers VP/special asst to the GM Ray Montgomery is jumping to the #Angels to work in an exec capacity under new GM Minasian.
  9. Via Brewers PD: Player moves: OF/1B Dustin Peterson has been signed to a minor league contract. RHP Wilber Diaz has been released.
  10. That scouting report sounds almost exactly like Suter
  11. I would expect nothing less considering the situation.......he throws strikes and has a decent k to bb ratio......that’s a good foundation to build on.
  12. Can always put him on the IL to buy some time, can try to work out a deal with the Dodgers to keep him if you don’t want to keep him on the major league roster all year. No team did that. Yes no team did that......just like no team picked up Nelson Cruz for nothing when he was DFA. This guy could turn into a player or not.......the fact that nobody wanted to pay 100k and keep him on a major league roster for a year really doesn’t mean anything other then nobody wanted to keep him on a 26 man roster right now.......the Brewers think he has a chance to develop......let’s see what happens. If he doesn’t.....nothing lost......if he does then it’s a nice win for a guy we were ready to let go for nothing.
  13. Will Sammon @WillSammon · 32m David Stearns said Leo Crawford's changeup has improved, and that has helped him produce some high K rates and good overall numbers. Crawford does not need to be on 40-man roster and will have all three options remaining once added, Stearns said. Will Sammon @WillSammon · 30m It will be Double A or Triple A for Crawford, Stearns said, depending on how some other things go
  14. Found this....sounds a little like Zach Davies.........but maybe with a funky delivery.... https://www.dodgersnation.com/dodgers-unheralded-prospect-series-leo-crawford/2020/04/22/ ps I guess Stearns didn't take the cash.......
  15. So Brewers don't lose Henry or Brown.....well done Stearns. Adam McCalvy @AdamMcCalvy · 5m Payton Henry is a good prospect who was left unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft. He went unpicked. Tough to carry an inexperienced catcher in the big leagues.
  16. Brewers passed in the rule 5 draft
  17. I saw this name on the Rule 5 eligible list........Number 4 pick in the draft only a few years ago........bust city 13. Riley Pint, RHP, Rockies Pint is the closest thing this class has to a pig in a poke. He has a recognizable name (the byproduct of being drafted fourth overall in 2016) as well as big-time stuff and late-inning potential. "Potential" is a spectrum and not a binary, however, and the chances of Pint reaching his ceiling appear remote. He had 55 combined walks, hit batsmen, and wild pitches in 17 2/3 innings in 2019, or more than one command-related oopsie per recorded out. Pint isn't able to repeat his release point, and his delivery imparts some nasty torque on his head that causes his neck to twist in a fashion previously imagined only by William Peter Blatty. He's almost certainly more than a few weeks with a different organization away from putting things together.
  18. It’s always about money......in any negotiation.......players want it.....owners will want something in return to approve the change. Normal operating procedure.........nobody to blame.....it’s just business.
  19. Way to go Len!
