    Harper was never coming here……….it was always between Dodgers and the Phillies Yeli had just put together back to back MVP caliber seasons and wanted to stay here at a price that at the time was viewed as below market by just about everyone. The guy had just put together the best back to back seasons in Brewers history……we all were thrilled that he wanted to stay and the Brewers found a way to do it. Second guessing is always easy……..he has been a great leader here and even though he isn’t the player he was I’m glad we signed him to the extension.

    We could have traded him for a low rated prospect ( who likely would never see the majors) and thrown in even more money. i get the sense people would have been happier if we would have just released him. He had no value and we got a former top.prospect who has been mostly a bust …….if they find something that they can fix great……if not he’s gone. I’m not sure what people expected……..but again the worse trades are viewed here the better they usually turn out. im not expecting anything but since we gave up nothing I certainly am not going to whine about the return.

    It wouldn’t be a brewers trade if people didn’t whine about it……lol Civale had little value and Brewers got a guy with options that they can try and fix……if they do great…….if not he gets non tendered.
