I'm ok with firing Kranitz but our crappy pitching staff has more to do with Melvin and the scouting dept then it does with him....IMO

Our pitching staff is last in the league in ERA, whip, hrs allowed, and BA against......first in walks but 3rd last in ks..... No suger coating how bad they have been and it's not like we have a bunch of proven studs who are just getting unlucky.....

Our starting staff has been a a joke this year. If Gallardo is our "ace" as BA loves to call him it is going to be a long year. Sometimes you need your starter to just dominate and win the game by himself.....not happening with the brewers so far....

Help me get excited about this team...

I think it's hard to get excited because deep down most of us don't feel this team is going to be good enough to make the playoffs. In our own division it seems obvious that the Cards and Reds are better which basically leaves one potential wild card spot up for grabs. Assuming Atlanta or Washington wins the East then one of them will also be in the hunt for the last spot along with..... SF or AZ,....... Dodgers(assuming they ever get healthy), Rockies, and even the Pirates. Doesn't seem very likely that we are going to beat out all of those teams. I could get excited if Helwig and or Pena pitch great in triple A and get called up giving us hope for the future. -
I think all Peralta needs is a more reliable off speed pitch and a willingness to throw it.

How many times have we seen the brewers score 5 early runs and then not add on? Seems like too many

We'll so much for Ax being sent down....RRR just said that isn't being considered.

Will RRR finally lose his temper after this embarrasing performance? Wouldn't it be in everyone's best interest if Ax was sent down? He isn't helping the team and I'm sure the booing isn't doing him any good.

Gomez did make a big error but our pitching staff just continues to show it isn't good enough. Now tied with Seattle for most HRs given up in all of baseball I believe....

Cards have now won 13 of the last 25 at Miller Park so I wish the Brewers would start doing a better job of cheating against the Redbirds -
Cards team ERA for their starters is 2.15.......I mean come on....Since that can't continue no time like the present to regress to the mean....

You know Ax always talks about how Trevor Hoffman was a mentor to him....taught him how to stand up and face the music even when things don't go right.... Can you imagine Hoffman saying "fans are fans"? All he has to do is say "I'm not getting the job done. I made some good pitches today that they hit but the team is paying me for results and I have had too many bad outings the last 2 years". "Nobody likes to hear boos but they are booing the results not me which I understand." Easy for me to say though...I wasn't the one getting booed.....

KROD is in extended spring traing now....hasen't gone to the minors yet.
