  1. Guy is hitting .176 against lefties without a HR all year and he gets the green light.........
  2. Nice at bat by Prince. Come on Casey......make your manager look good for keeping you in there every day!
  3. His ERA is 2 and a half runs higher on the road then at home.
  4. Does anyone doubt the Cards will come back to win that game?
  5. I never said the sky was falling. Facts are facts. We had favorable pitching matchups against the Cards and other then Marcum they didn't get the job done. Greinke against this scrub should have been a solid win. Instead Zack brings his road form again and we don't do anything offensively...again. I'm glad the Cards are losing but we need to start playing good baseball again. Would anyone disagree with that?
  6. 7 hits now in 3 plus innings to this triple A team.........We needed a stopper the last 2 days and neither Greinke or Yo were up to the task.
  7. Looks like the hot streak is defintely over.......we have played like the astros the last 4 days.
  8. yeah...will only have to face Cliff Lee Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay.......that should be much easier...... Have to make the post season first......
  9. Our offense is really difficult to watch right now. Cincy up 5-2
  10. I heard that interview and he may in fact be right that the shifting has been effective. I have no idea how to prove it. In the same interview he also stated that Brewers were also "way ahead" with the aggressive basrunning that he loves so much. He admitted that we have made lots of outs on the bases but said we have gained lots of runs by going first to third on singles. I SERIOUSLY doubt if he is correct in that assumption.
  11. I have a problem with allowing the players to make the decision on who plays and who doesn't. They like Casey but he may not be the best choice to play and they might be too close to the situation to see it. With that logic changes would never be made........sometimes rookies can make the difference. If we still had Lawrie I would hope, for everyones sake, that our manager would have the guts to play him ahead of Casey no matter how loyal the players were to CM. They certainly understand that the managers job is to put the best players out on the field in order to give the team the best chance to win. Loyalty is a good thing.....too much loyalty gives us 4 months of Kameron Loe blowing games in the 8th and starting Jeff Soupon in the playoffs because he is a gritty veteran with big game experience. Its a fine line....but the best managers know how to do it. Time will tell if RR can make the tough decisions or just defers to the players.
  12. Looks like our manager has outsourced the decision making to the players....... McCalvy Tweet (fixed link --1992)
  13. Ok....series over......go get 2 of 3 in Houston and get some mojo back. Hopefully the Cards have a bit of a letdown against the Reds.
  14. on the good news front...at least Ax and KROD will be well rested going into Houston...............
  15. Braun and Prince really expanded their zone in this series......when they get themselves out its very hard for us to score runs.
  16. I love the way LaRussa managed this game. Not sure why BA and Rock keep talking about it like he has lost his mind. He knew how important this series was and he managed this game like it was the 7th game of the world series(other then the rookie starter). ps. Not that it really matters but why pinch hit counsell instead of Green or Logan S?
  17. Cards had won 3 of their last 7 coming into this series. They weren't playing well before they got here. We gave them the first game of this series and then served up batting practice the last 2 games.
  18. I wonder if La Russa will complain about the lights or sign stealing after this series?
