  1. Not sure it will make a difference or not but Colorado sure started to play better last year after they made the change. Can't hurt.
  2. I'm hoping they DFI Suppan, move Bush to long relief, and give Estrada a chance in Bush's spot. At this point I would just like to see them try somebody else.
  3. Wolf's walk rate is almost double what it was last year. I have a hard time blaming Peterson but it does seem the staff as a whole are walking guys at an alarming rate. What the heck is going on here?
  4. Wow what a fitting way to end that game. Fielder strikes out. He offered at every pitch in the at bat and by my eyes none of them were strikes. Braun steals 2nd and then goes brain dead forgetting that his run means nothing. The beat goes on. I wonder what Antansio is thinking watching his team implode game after game?
  5. Hoffman's season so far has little to do with luck. He is giving up almost 5 home runs for every 9 innings pitched............. I mean come on..........its ok to say someone is just pitching badly.......Hoffman himself said it today...... “I feel prepared and ready to go out there. I’m just not getting it done.”
  6. It was nice to see Estrada get through 4 innings with only 55 pitches today. It can be done even with the Brewers defense if you throw quality strikes and work ahead in the count.
  7. Does anyone really think we are where we are because of Ken Macha? I'm ok with making a change but its not going to make any sort of huge difference. The numerous problems with personnel still remain.
  8. Looks like our starting pitching continues to be unlucky. Its amazing how consistently unlucky we are. Game after game it looks the same. Walks, Ground rule doubles, early runs that put us in a hole and high pitch counts that require an already spent bullpen to cover 4 innings.
  9. How many righthanded pitchers can we name who top out at 85 and are good solid big league pitchers? Maddox didn't throw hard but even he touched 89 or 90 I think. Livan Hernandez comes to mind. I'm sure their are a few others but man.....85 is almost like throwing bp.
  10. Beat goes on......2 hits and a brutal error by Weeks before Bush gets the first out. I beleive we have only won 1 game this year when the other team scores first.
  11. Brewers have lost all 5 games on the current home stand. In those games the pitching staff has given up 47 runs. I'm not sure what I would call that but its not bad luck. When you give up 10 runs a game you are going to lose
  12. and we have a 12 million dollar pitcher filling innings only when the game is over. This is really embarrassing.
  13. 7 or more runs in 16 of 35 games? I knew it was bad but wow. ps. Make that 17 out of 36.
  14. Macha was kind of caught between a rock and a hard place. Pitcher leading off the inning and a short bench made shorter by Edmunds going out. He tried to push CN for 1 more inning and got burned. As with most of Macha's decisions it didn't work out well.
  15. Brewers just continue to play bad baseball. Melvin has really done a horrible job in constructing this team. Starting pitching bad, bullpen bad, Defense bad, offense all or nothing. I hope I'm wrong but this is just does not look like a playoff contending team to me. All I ever want from the brewers is for them to stay in the race most of the season. Its now mid May and we have not won a series at home since the first one of the year!
  16. 6 losses now when we had the lead in the 8th inning or later. Don't teams typically win 90 percent of the games or more when they lead that late? What a different feel we would all have if the brew had won just 4 or 5 of those 6. You are going to lose games 5-2 or 4-1 when you never have the lead.....every team does.....but when you blow games late it just kills you.
  17. I love how BS thinks that Hoffman is beyond even questioning. The guy has been rocked all year.......he is costing the team games they will never get back. The whole "this is his job" baseball thing just drives me crazy. Hawkins mows them down in the 8th....why not let him pitch the 9th until Trevor works out his problems?
  18. TH agrees with you Peavey. "I'm telling you folks, something is going on with Hoffman. Excluding the intentional walk, he threw 20 pitches. Only three were changeups. He threw 13 pitches before throwing his first changeup. This guy is a changeup pitcher. It makes no sense. He now has surrendered five homers in eight innings after allowing only two in 54 innings last year."
  19. I think father time may have finally caught up with Trevor.
  20. yeah it was bad.....routine play that he spiked in front of Prince
  21. 22 in a row for the Brew against the Pirates now at Miller Park....is that right? Unreal
  22. Good thing Russell put up that J/S headline to get his team motivated tonight.....lol Wow.......just wow.
  23. So you would tie up 30% of our payroll on one player every time? Not me.
