Brew just continues to find ways to lose. 3-4 against the Pirates and Reds........nice.

Now we need a 2 out hit.........Braunie just has to do a better job in those situations. He's had a great game but you just have to out the ball in play there.

I have a hard time getting excited about being in a "pennant race" as Brian Anderson loves to say when we are basically a .500 team. Our division stinks so we are not buried but that doesn't make us a good team. Even if we get Halladay we are still going to have to run Soup, Looper, and somebody else out there 3 out of every 5 days since Parra will probably be in the deal. That rotation still isn't good enough and it certainly isn't good enough to mortage the future by trading Escabar and Gamal along with Parra for a year and 2 months of RH.

If Melvin gives up Manny, Gamel and Escobar he should be fired.

I'd love to have Lee but as always it depends on what they want for him. It would be nice to have another lefty in the rotation to go with the new and improved Manny Parra.

Same old song. Seth has been pretty worthless ever since he got those 2 starts. We just look like a really average team to me. Pitching is bad. Hitting is ok but very streaky. Defense has not been great the past few weeks. 81-85 wins seems about right. Hopefully Melvin can improve the team in the off season.

Especially considering Ankiel is hitting .224 against righties and Ryan is hitting .296. Worked out though.

Unbelievable. 7 walks received in 7 innings and we can't get a clutch hit to save our lives.

All star break couldn't come at a better time. This team is really struggling. Not much fun to watch a team play like this one has for the last few weeks.

Did anyone else cringe when Kendall came up with a guy on 3rd(Prince) and less then 2 outs? I know its not rational but I find myself thinking " There is no way JK is going to hit a fly ball deep enough to score Prince" or if a guy is on 2nd I always just assume its going to take 2 hits to score him because the outfield is playing him like he is a pitcher. Riveria isn't great but Macha needs to at least put him in a couple of times a week. I mean he is treating Kendall like he is Joe Mauer or something.

Is Jason Kendall going to play every game the rest of the year? Come on Macha.....give Rivera a couple of starts a week....he may actually hit a bit if he plays.

Down 5-0 in the 9th and the Cards get a lead off single and Anderson's call is "That could spell big trouble....." Brian.....when you are down 5-0 in the 9th you are already in big trouble bro......

I know every team has games like this from time to time but over the last few weeks we have had a bunch. To play like this against the the 2 teams we will have to beat in order to get to the playoffs is really sad.

Does Cameron running into the ball qualify as things not going our way? Looks like bad baseball to me. Yo gives up a 3 run homer in the first and our hitters space out the hits perfectly to make sure we get no runs.

Gamel to the outfield is a possibility next year but you can forget about him replacing Hart this season.

Inapprorpriate. What if Gallardo had said "we really need to make a trade to improve our offense after one of his 1-0 losses? How would that have gone over in the clubhouse? Everyone knows we need pitching help. What he said will have no impact on whether or not Melvin makes a trade. He will make one if it improves the team and he deems the cost reasonable. Saying they kicked our ass is fine....saying we need to get some better pitching and we need to do it now just divides the team. Cam or Counsell should let him know that comments like that should not be made to the media. Especially after he said everything was great 4 days ago.................
