    Nice start Burns. He is doing a great imitation of Suppan. Nibble at the corners.....get behind in the count and then give up hits.

    If your best players think its a problem then its a problem. They have made a significant investment in Braun and Fielder. I hope they deal with this in the off season.

    Sveum's philosophy is to swing at strikes you can hit and to lay off perfect pitches(ie..outside corner at the knees) since most hitters can't hit them even if they swing. If you get a good pitch to hit early in the count he wants you to swing. I have a hard time taking issue with those concepts. Hardy for whatever reason refuses to swing at the first pitch. Hitters still have to be able to execute the plan or any coach will look bad.

    I think it comes down to what comes first the chicken or the egg? Does he locate the ball better and then get more confident in his ability or does he need more confidence in order to locate the ball better? Probably both. At this point it doesn't really matter.....We can all agree that he isn't pitching at close to a major league level and until he can consistently do that he won't be pitching in Milwaukee.

    Manny stunk...our hitters did nothing,,,,bullpen was very good as usual....... We haven't been swinging the bats good other then last night so when your starter puts you in a 6-0 hole in the 2nd inning the rest of the game was pretty predictable.

    I'm sure he is fine. They double switched. Macha is still managing to try and win the game. Too bad he waited until Parra put us in a hole the size of the grand canyon before doing it.

    Pretty hard to have a decent offense when Hardy, Hart, and the catchers spot are basically automatic outs every day and Hall joins the group when he plays. When your only option in the 2 hole is JJ Hardy hitting below .220 with no power it doesn't bode well.

    Stetters numbers are pretty darn good against righties too.........I would have at least put the decision on Tracy.

    Carlos has one bad appearence in his last 15 outing s and some of you think he might be in the dog house now? Wow........Releif pitchers do give up runs once in awhile....the guy has been flat out dominant for a month.....lets calm down......we blew the game....it happens....

    Macha could have double switched at the start of the inning. Hope it doesn't come back to bite us.

    Our bullpen is just crazy good right now. Even righties are only hitting .220 off of Stetter for pete sake. Carlos has just been nasty after his slow start to the year.

    The sad thing is we are really making Baker look good tonight. He is throwing a bunch of very hittable pitches. Fastballs right down the middle, hanging curve balls, etc and we swing right through them or pop them up.

    What is Rickie's contract status? Is he a free agent next year or the year after? He isn't eligiible for arby because he signed a major league contract right?

    I'm glad CV got the out there but why isn't Macha using Difelice in these type of situations? The guy is very tough on right handers and he doesn't walk anyone. Crawford has been horrible behind the plate tonight.

    It really is amazing how many guys we are leaving on 3rd base with less then 2 outs. Prince really seems like he is trying to hit a home run on every swing.

    " The teams record really shouldn't be what does and doesn't get someone excited. " Actually at the major league level the team record is what makes people excited. In the minor leagues all we care about is how our are prospects developing. If a team loses alot its not all that exciting....if they win a bunch and stay in the race it is. So far this season has been a snooze. I certainly understand that its a long season and every team has its ups and downs but off to a 3-8 start certainly isn't "exciting". Lets hope they turn it around soon because getting buried in April and then rallying to .500 when you are already out of the playoff picture certainly wouldn't be "exciting" for me............ Nice to see Gallardo pitch great today but unfortunately it went to waste.

    Mcclung has always struggled with his control and Maddox couldn't keep Suppan from imploding last year. I blame Melvin for saddling Castro with this pitching staff.

    This team is not much fun to watch right now. Brew could really get buried here in the first month of the season with this schedule and our pitching staff. I hate making a guy like Arroyo look like Cy Young out there.

    I'm not sure the Braun comparison is really a good one. Sure the Brewers brought him up but they quickly realized that he was so bad playing 3rd base that they had to move him. So after being named rookie of the year as a 3rd baseman he was moved to the outfield. I'm not sure they want to go through that again with Gamel. Braun's amazing offensive numbers as a rookie were almost completely offset by his brutal D at 3rd.

    "I'm all for walks, but with a man on 3rd and two outs, I'd hope that either Braun or Fielder might attempt to get a hit." They got no pitches to hit. Got to trust your teammates in those situations or you just get yourself out.

    Doing everything right except finding holes with 2 RISP. The improved patience this year just has to pay dividends down the road.
