  1. Caleb Gindl is a single shy of the cycle. He's up 4th when the Sounds come to bat in the top of the 9th. Edit: Gindl gets the single! CYCLE!!
  2. I don't recall Rock taking many days off in-season before this. More than likely something going on behind the scenes, even if it's just a minor thing. Cirillo's voice isn't good for TV right now and he's awkward with BA, but like others have said, he brings some insight that Rock doesn't seem to have. A 3-person booth with the three of them would be interesting to try for a few days.
  3. Pretty sure the 79ish MPH one was the CB (with a pretty tight break) and the 82ish MPH one was the CH. I guess it says something that it isn't extremely clear. Edit: I was bummed ESPN didn't show his delivery out of the stretch. He only made the one stretch pitch, and it was hit for an out.
  4. Trout was called up to Los Angeles... er Anaheim, or whatever... yesterday.
  5. About Thornburg... the ESPN gun is a couple MPH hot. He was working closer to 93. I wasn't blown away by the curve, and certainly not by the change. Still work to do, but definitely has the tools to be a starter.
  6. Scarpetta could theoretically make it back down to Huntsville to start, or at least get into the ballgame, depending on when he got out of Milwaukee this afternoon.
  7. I think it's Esthervin Matos and MiLB.com is wrong, but Sthervin would be an awesome name.
  8. They're still going to hire someone in addition to Spader's character to replace Michael Scott, though, right?
  9. He'd be an athletic first baseman. Probably an adequate corner LF, but would the Brewers switch Braun to RF for Khris Davis? Worst case is he gets some time in the infield to increase his value. Scouts like his bat a little. I think he plays in the bigs within a few years. Edit: And sorry, it's 10 OPS points after tonight's game. Long way to go.
  10. Katin is on the DL. You're thinking of Gindl? Khris should get playing preference in Huntsville over Haydel, Kjeldgaard, or, dare I say, Sean Halton at 1B.
  11. Khris Davis didn't have a huge game tonight or anything, but we are well past the point where it was absurd that he hasn't been promoted to Huntsville. We're 2 or 3 steps beyond that now. I guess only 2 more OPS points to 1000. Maybe Reid Nichols has that on Khris' promotion task list.
  12. "Player of the Moth" would be a great name for a band.
  13. I bet Mat Gamel wishes he had gotten in a few more reps in LF right about now.
  14. CF Ruben Ozuna has been promoted from Arizona to Helena, per Tyler Lockman.
  15. Another Mehring tweet: We already knew about Paciorek, Crawford and Rogers, but Rosario being demoted from Brevard County is new. Expect some Brevard transactions here in a bit. They have two open roster spots for moves we don't know about yet.
  16. The Brewers sent IF Andy Gonzalez to Nashville and IF Zelous Wheeler back to Huntsville.
  17. Badler says that Arcia is "in the mix" to be a top 30 Brewers prospect.
  18. Per his own tweet, Jason Rogers is headed back to Wisconsin. Dennis back to Brevard to fill Kjeldgaard's spot perhaps? Edit: Why yes, bork, I agree with you. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. This is at least the third time a Brewers low minor league pitcher has been pulled after one inning in the past week-ish (Milton Gomez and Francisco Rivero being the others, though I think there are more). I wonder if it's not a coincidence and there's some sort of weird new Gord Ash/Reid Nichols one inning protocol thing going on. Or maybe there's just being super careful if a pitcher feels off about anything.
  20. After thinking about it some more, my guess is that they just were being nice and seeing if another team wanted to give him a shot. No one did, so they kept him. On the 40-man, for some reason. Weird transaction.
  21. Nemeth is playing some third base for Helena. He played third base in high school as well.
  22. "Really terrible" might be pushing it. He has a decent change-up which can be effective v LHB.
