According to the 2008 BA Prospect Handbook, Cain can "play CF in a pinch" so take that for what it's worth. He looked a little awkward in spring training out there, but he's certainly physically gifted enough to do it.
Why do people have real problems figuring out which lane to turn left from, if there is more than one left turn lane? If you want to end up in the far lane, don't pick the left-hand left turn lane. Merging into a different lane right after you turn left is dangerous and stupid.
Cain's promotion surely must be a placeholder until LaPorta's half season in Huntsville is over, right? LaPorta has nothing left to prove at the plate in AA and he can work on defense at AAA.
Hall to Baltimore makes more sense than Weeks because a)Hall wants to be traded and b)Weeks is not healthy. The obvious question would then be, how do Weeks and Roberts fit in on the same team? If it's Hall instead of Weeks, it would take a few very good prospects to nab Roberts. Guys like Salome and Gillespie would have to be considered.
Zach is coming off an injury shortened season, has a 1.31 WHIP and has struck out 46 guys in 36 innings. He's walked a few too many, but as Mass said, what were your expectations? He has the same good pitching stuff, that's what matters.
I agree... I'm just happy if young pitchers get through A ball without injury. Results are nice, but they certainly aren't the be-all-end-all of how to judge young pitchers. There have been a few minor disappointments statistically, but I really don't get concerned about a pitcher until he struggles to get out of A ball (which is not the same thing as struggling in A ball).
So, I became a first time dad on Monday. Her mother and I had a daughter, and her name is Audrey Belle. She happens to be the cutest baby I've ever seen so that worked out well. Yay! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3174/2555163116_49dc6a23f4.jpg?v=0 I'm grooming her as a left handed catcher, and I project her to carry a career OPS of around 950. Even Russell Branyan is impressed.
While the ending to this season doesn't have the directional histrionics of last season, I liked it a lot more. With the inclusion of Christian doing what he did, I have a lot of thoughts that can't be posted on Brewerfan, especially with so many Bentham mentions.
