  1. Sarfate will be a member of the 2007 Brewers team, unless he gets injured or absolutely falls apart in camp. At worst, he'll be the de la Rosa of 2007. I've always said I love his arm out of the pen. With a few good years there, maybe he even breaks into the rotation eventually, ala Jon Papelbon. I think Krynzel gets outrighted or traded sometime this offseason. He's stuck between so many OF guys right now, even his defense won't get him through. Even if he sticks around until spring training, he'd need a monster camp to make the squad. At the very least, Nix, Gwynn and Anderson are all ahead of him for the 5th OF spot. Hendrickson is somewhere in between. I don't think the Brewers want to give up on him, but he needs to show something. He may be dropped or dealt if the Brewers have a better use for the 40-man spot, but I think he's given a legit shot it camp. I hope he makes the most of it. Edit: I type good.
  2. I'd trade Davis, Gross, Rogers and Jackson for Crawford, but I wouldn't give up Yo unless we happened to also be getting Kazmir. I know there's no such thing as a pitching prospect (and ad nauseum with the Brewers), but you'd have to offer me something better than Crawford to get Yo off my hands.
  3. Scutaro sucks, but, ya know...
  4. Well 74-87 may not be the record I was hoping for That's good, because they finished 75-87. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. And with 4.2 innings pitched today, CV has enough IP to graduate off of the Power 50. Good job, Carlos.
  6. Turnbow? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  7. An early, nonbold prediction: Dennis Sarfate will make this club next spring in the relief role many of us had been saying for a long time would be best for him.
  8. Ned needs to end Cappy's season now. It's been a pretty good one, Chris. See ya in February.
  9. Wow... Chris, turn your head and cough.
  10. Brady Clark has lost a few steps. Pierre has a spaghetti arm in center - the ball was hit pretty hard, but that shouldn't have been close.
  11. That was bizarre - how many balls are in the Wrigley wall, do you suppose?
  12. Boooooo Mench. Booooooo.
  13. Bill Hall, put it on the board!
  14. CV deserved a better fate that inning. His change and curve are looking pretty good tonight.
  15. C'mon, giving up 2-run singles to Hank Blanco is like Kevin Mench playing good defense. Shouldn't happen.
  16. Kevin Mench - what the heck was that?
  17. I'd have no problem giving up a package like Dana Eveland, Zach Jackson and Hernan Iribarren for Carl Crawford. Thing is, you'd really have to sell the D-Rays on the pitching prowess of the guys you're giving up. Crawford is an exceptional baseball player that I would love for the Brewers to get, but the price would be high, for sure.
  18. Giants pitcher Jack Taschner had a 1.59 ERA last year, and has a 9.18 ERA this year. Chew on it.
  19. DId Cordero just hit 101 on the gun?
  20. Wow, a rare horrible play by Omar Vizquel. Go Brewers.
  21. Conger's debut was cut short after breaking his hamate bone. Well, now I'm glad we didn't draft him. Obviously many have recovered from hamate injuries, but the spectre of Brad Nelson's struggles looms whenever I hear about that injury.
  22. Let's go from worst to first. Animal Collective's "Feels" - I actually don't have much to say about this album. It's an indie rock album somewhere between My Bloody Valentine, Liars and Clap Your Hands. A few alright songs, including Bees and Banshee Beat, but nothing that memorable. I'd give it 2.5/5. Arvo Pärt - "A Tribute" - Estonian minimalist composer's "greatest hits." Directed by his greatest fan and follower Paul Hillier. I didn't think the album hit its stride until the Berliner Masse suite. If you love vocal arrangements, it is hard to get better than Pärt in terms of recent composers. Good mixing of multi-articulate swaying vocals with occasional organ backing. A good thing to add to any collection, but not essential. 3/5. John Cale's Paris 1919 - Recently remastered and reissued with a number of largely unimportant bonus tracks, this classic comes back to life. After his days with The Velvet Underground, Cale has been noted for his drastic dynamic shifts. Paris 1919 finds him at his poppy best, mixing twinges of folk and classical influences. Highlight tracks include Hanky Panky Nohow, Macbeth and the title track. An essential album for any pop admirer. Really not that far from the Beatles or Alex Chilton. 4/5.
  23. Inman can't be under 5' 10"---is that short? He is shorter than a pitcher with an "ideal frame." Those guys have frames north of 6'2+.
