  1. 11-1 Angels still in the fifth, still one out, no more Rogers.
  2. Angels up 7-1 on the baby Brewers, still batting in the fifth against Rogers.
  3. If you do PBP, make sure to keep all the PBP in one post by editing it as you go.
  4. Does anyone know if the audio will be archived from the Giants/Brewers game?
  5. Don, can't you just apologize for being a jerk so everyone can move on? I believe the lemur signifies moving on.
  6. The jersey is a size 2x, which fits me (6'6, 220) pretty well. I apologize if it too big for whoever wins it, but I'm not giving up my Steve Woodard jersey. And I have yet to decide if I want to defend (aka win back) my jersey or not.
  7. Deardorff could still make a splash in the bigs in a utility role. He's nearing or at his prime, so he'll need to impress someone pretty quickly.
  8. It's always exciting to read about the DFE's. Thanks, Colby. My three favorites to follow this spring are Braddock, Ramlow, and Copot. Braddock was one of my favorites on draft day, and I was hoping they'd sign him healthy to compete with Steve Garrison this year, but it looks like it'll take a year with Chipola, whom you have to highly regard. Ramlow sounds intriguing - the last time the Brewers drafted someone with his measurables, they drafted Corey Hart. And I like Copot just because the Jack Z. has stuck with him... the Brewers have DFE'd a few guys now for a few years in a row, with good results, namely Tim Dillard. Copot should be a Brewer eventually. They don't usually draft guys 2 years without signing them.
  9. McCalvy gave a rundown of all the coaching staffs this season in an article today. All positions except for AZL manager have been filled: milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com...p&c_id=mil
  10. Clark is a neat signing, and it is surprising he was still around this late in the offseason. He's easily better than Brian Dallimore, and if Dallimore has a good spring, Clark may allow us to trade Brian for something worthwhile.
  11. A liter of Tangueray does no good make, and may you all learn from my last Saturday night. And tonight, Stoli Bloody Marys and Guiness with nothing to eat during the day. Ack. Let's listen to some music and skip class tomorrow...

  13. As I am wont to point out at about this time every year, the Brewers have a lot of pitchers assigned between AAA and the Majors - by my count this time around, 37. IIRC, that's a few fewer than recent years, but that's still a lot for about 24 roster spots and some trickle down to AA.
  14. Masked and Anonymous I love Bob Dylan, but this movie was as vague and wordy as possible, but without approaching the brilliance of his lyrical work. If you like watching decent acting by OK actors and Bob Dylan doing stuff on celluloid, hey, go watch this movie to kill 90 minutes. It's not a much better time than that, however.
  15. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  16. Just to echo what Patrick said, if Wilfredo ever figures it out on the mound, he'll be a monster on the mound. Until that point, teams will pick him up in December and hope to get that monster out of him. He doesn't like pitching out of the pen, and the Nashville rotation is already jammed with Eveland, Jackson, Sarfate, Hendrickson, Narron, Parra, Fernandez, Housman and Woolard all gunning for a spot, so he might start in Huntsville, with an eye towards being the first guy called up to AAA. He'll only be 27 when the season rolls around - he still has a chance.
  17. If you go to My Control Center, and then click Edit Profile, you'll see a screen with your avatar in the left, and under it there's a check box for the Show EZSupporter Icon. I had neglected to turn mine on for almost nine months, so you're not alone.
  18. Weird... guy has 100 major league innings pitched and I've never heard of him. Best of luck to him, may he be our next Tommy Phelps.
  19. Reed - I usually copy all the contents of my post right before I hit the Add Reply button, so just in case something happens, I can just paste the contents of the old post into a new one. This is especially time-saving if you have a really long post. Just a thought.
  20. Anyone ever have an Evil Eye 40 oz? Give you weird dreams. Anyone ever drink Pilsner Urquell? Worst thing I've ever tasted.
  21. I agree with Al, that is truly amazing. However, it is also more of a random coincidence than anything else.
  22. Toby, can you explain this comment? You say it as if it's a well known truism, but I've never heard before that pitchers slow down once they reach the majors. Some, like Sheets, even add velocity as they develop. It's something I've noticed. I always hear about Player A throwing in the low-to-mid 90's in the minors, and when they get to the bigs, for whatever the reason, Player A is hitting 90 sometimes but work in the high 80's.Player B might throw in the upper 80's in the minors, but then he's touching 87-88 in the bigs and working in the low 80's. I find that it is much more often the case the velocity decreases moving up the change as opposed to staying the same or increasing. This may be due in part to learning how to pitch instead of just throw, needing to lose velocity to incease control, etc. I see Hammond throws in the high 80's, touching 91, which makes me think that it is likely he will barely ever touch 90 if and when he makes it to Milwaukee, and probably work in the low-to-mid 80's. It isn't so much a truism, just what I've witnessed from developing pitchers. When Sarfate gets called up next year, I'll bet you that he won't be throwing any harder than 90-92 with regularity, even though he is capable of pitching a few ticks higher. Both Capuano and Davis pitch in this range without big breaking balls with very good success. I'm not trying to compare them, just sayin'. I should have said offspeed pitch, not breaking ball. Both Davis and Capuano have a plus to plus-plus non-fastball. I don't know that Hammond has a pitch like Davis' cutter or Cappy's changeup. He needs to improve his arsenal to make it as a starter, probably. I'm not saying that him making it as a reliever is a bad thing, we can always use more of those, I'm just trying to temper expectations.
  23. Hammond sat in the 87-88 mph range, and hit 92 once on the gun I was watching. Yah, that's why I'm not a huge fan. If he's throwing that in the minors, it'll be even a little slower in the bigs. That's a huge stretch as a starting pitcher in Milwaukee without a great breaking ball.
  24. Habel would have been a legit choice instead of Hammond. Habel won't make it as a starter, so he needs to get good bullpen work as often as possible.
  25. And yes, RHP Chris Saenz, 23 years old and nearly back from Tommy John surgery, takes his six scoreless major league innings into the minor league free agent market. I knew I dropped him from the Power 50 for a reason.
