  1. Okay, Freddy. That is what is called run support. Need a shutdown inning after all that.
  2. If Turang can tank one here, the place will go absolutely nuts.
  3. Like that Murphy didn't sell out with the right-handed batters with the starting lineup. Still balanced left-right to face Chicago's relievers in this game.
  4. Excellent at bat from Perkins! Cash in another run!
  5. Hope that gets the home run out of the way for Peralta. Punch back on offense. Crooked number, please.
  6. I do recall Dom Controneo suggesting the idea--maybe on the SEP 27 post-game show--that having Yelich hit in the leadoff spot may been an experiment to see if the #9 hitters, Joey Ortiz in particular, would get better pitches to hit when the lineup circles around. I would chalk that up to tinkering with an idea during the last week of the season, where games weren't so critical to win. Frelick at leadoff, with Yelich and Turang in either the 3rd or 5th spot of the lineup seems to make more sense in the playoffs where every game matters.
  7. Avoided the sweep. Got some good vibes for the flight home. Could clinch the #1 spot before playing another game, depending on the Phillies.
  8. Another empty inning despite runners on base.
  9. This is the nightmarish scenario for this type of offense when extra base hits aren't plentiful. Not being able to get hits, let alone extra base hits, that drive in more than one run can become a killer, especially when rallies aren't plentiful in the playoffs. Then the adage–"a home run is a one-man rally"–comes is emphasized; even more so when giving up home runs to the opponent. Getting a bit of a foretaste of this against better teams in September (Rangers, Cardinals, Padres) hasn't sparked optimism for the playoffs despite such a great regular season. Couple that with the injuries to key players and there is a bit of a 2021 vibe. Perhaps all of that is a bit of an unfounded Brewers fan playoffs pessimism, but it does seem to be part of the team's past record of performance.
  10. ABS Challenge System coming in 2026: https://www.mlb.com/news/abs-challenge-system-mlb-2026
  11. Tampa Bay Rays getting some new owners. Some new ballpark discussion in the article also. https://ballparkdigest.com/2025/09/23/tampa-bay-rays-sale-approved-next-up-new-ballpark/
  12. Division winners with 6 games left to play. Didn’t expect that in March. Would like to see the team kick it into gear for this last week. Don’t want any feeling of limping into the playoff like in 2021, when they won 95 games.
  13. Arizona holds on to defeat Philadelphia: 4-3.
  14. Guess it was. Feels like they stole a win tonight, though there were plenty of hard outs.
  15. Another Brewers shortstop, this one with a mustache:
  16. Just as long as they don’t lose a playoff series to one of those rivals, we can live with that irony or annoyance.
  17. Third time through the order against Mikolas. Time for the bats to awaken for a big inning.
  18. Looks like the white flag is flying with Jansen and Monasterio replacing Contreras and Turang. Reset for tomorrow.
