  1. 5 1/3 scoreless innings from the B Team bullpen of Myers and McGee. Can be a somewhat magical win if the offense can pull it out in the 9th. Need three runs with the top of the order due up.
  2. At some point, the results need to be shown on the field. Not there right now with Seigler. Want him to be successful and have some of the defensive versatility on the roster. But the production just isn’t there right now. Hard to see why the pinch hitting decision was made.
  3. Some loud outs and close calls, but that’s a much needed 3 1/3 innings from Myers. Time for the offense to break out again late in the game.
  4. Now Frelick with a rob of a near-homer. Some leather being thrown around in the outfield this afternoon.
  5. Even if this ends up in a crazy slugfest comeback, there needs to be another 6 innings covered from the pitching staff. That's an uphill climb going into Toronto.
  6. Going to need a major turnaround from Quintana or it's going to end up being yet another 5IP or less start. Starting to burnout the bullpen during this stretch.
  7. With the comparisons made between Hader and Ashby, I've wondered for a good while whether Ashby could possibly become a dominant reliever. Maybe develop him as a potential closer. Though the closing opportunities will likely fall to Uribe now for the near future, it would be interesting to see if Ashby would assume that mantle at times.
  8. Gutsy from Miller tonight. Pitched like a veteran reliever. Gotta get this one in regulation. Don’t want to think about extra innings.
  9. Wouldn’t mind seeing locking him in for a few more years beyond the original control. At this rate, Turang is starting to creep toward numbers that wouldn’t be bad for a third baseman, let alone a second baseman who could moonlight at shortstop.
  10. Don’t know what’s gotten into Monasterio lately, but he’s providing some unexpected offense in his recent appearances.
  11. Could use some offense against the Arizona long relievers….. Time to see if Myers can be effective again in relief. The added split-change (?) has seemed to be a new weapon. Need a good couple innings tonight from him.
  12. Couldn't get the big hit with RISP for a third straight game. Basically no BABIP luck at all either. That's three losses in four games to the Cubs. At least it wasn't in an NLDS. (Yes, not the same as the playoffs, given the games have all been in Chicago and the management of the game is not the same as in October. But that's how quickly a playoff series could crap out.)
