  1. Moving Colorado Springs to the South and Idaho Falls to the North is probably the best move out of the current situation, assuming no other changes to the Pioneer League makeup. The rumor of a team potentially moving to Pueblo, CO in the future would necessitate another change in the alignment.
  2. This will be the end of Helena, according to the Elmore Sports Group as quoted in this article: http://ballparkdigest.com/2017/06/21/elmore-sports-group-three-franchise-shifts-in-2019/ Other articles indicate that another Pioneer League team may attempt to relocate to Pueblo, CO, giving a travel partner for the team moving to Colorado Springs. (The team isn't mentioned, but reading between the lines makes me guess that Great Falls might be it.) http://ballparkdigest.com/2017/04/04/pueblo-county-pitches-new-pro-ballpark/ Pueblo is considering a stadium project: http://www.chieftain.com/news/pueblo/pueblo-county-commissioners-eye-downtown-baseball-stadium/article_467c55f6-75ab-5581-b35f-0f71f090b573.html As for the difference in elevation, Helena is at 3,875' and Colorado Springs is at 6,035'. So there is a bit of a difference. Not sure an actual time/distance for bus rides, but they would seem to increase, though that might depend on divisional alignment. Edited: added statement about divisional alignment.
  3. I'd have to imagine that if the Rangers remain with Round Rock (Greater Austin area) for AAA that Houston would want to land in the San Antonio market. Same if the two were reversed. Going to Colorado Springs for one year to make that happen would probably be palatable to either franchise.
  4. Showed a little life in the 6th. But couldn't get a big inning. Still some time for a comeback. After seeing another extra base hit from a hot Broxton, I'm not sure why he wasn't starting tonight.
  5. Jimmy Nelson with the CG win. A long way from the pitcher who was in potential danger of losing a rotation spot.
  6. Despite the loss, good news from Pittsburgh: Pirates beat the Cubs. (A little early for scoreboard watching, but it's fun to do.)
  7. Thames again! Wonder if the blood and urine police will be visiting....
  8. After that terrible piece of baseball, I anticipate seeing the Cardinals load the bases and put up a four-spot or more: "Here's how you play the game."
  9. Home runs on June 4 and June 8, otherwise it's been famine for him.
  10. For the Brewers games in June, here's the team at bats with runners in scoring position: JUN 1: 3-for-12 (W, 2-1 at NYM) JUN 2: 0-for-8 (L, 2-1 vs. LAD) JUN 3: 1-for-8 (L, 10-8 vs. LAD) JUN 4: 1-for-5 (W, 3-0 vs. LAD) JUN 5: 2-for-6 (L, 7-2 vs. SFG) JUN 6: 4-for-7 (W, 5-2 vs. SFG) JUN 7: 2-for-8 (W, 6-3 vs. SFG) JUN 8: 2-for-10 (L, 9-5 vs. SFG) JUN 9: 5-for-18 (W, 8-6 at ARI) JUN 10: 0-for-1 (L, 3-2 at ARI) JUN 11: 0-for-7 (L, 11-1 at ARI) TOTAL: 20-for-90 = .222 BA with RISP. Not great. Still managed to post a 5-6 record in those games.
  11. Got it to Knebel to lock down the win. Wish the bullpen wasn't always an adventure. Perhaps another pitching roster change will be forthcoming.
  12. Who is the only Milwaukee player to do it? Joe Adcock for the Milwaukee Braves.
  13. Anderson gave a strong performance tonight. Lowered his ERA under 3. Getting anything similar to this every five days is a huge part of a solid starting rotation. What's Anderson's team control status?
  14. Gennett hits HR #4. Two-run shot. Not a home run cycle. But one of the most unlikeliest answers to who hit 4 HRs in one MLB game.
  15. In other games, Scooter Gennett is having a career night against STL: 4-for-4, 2 HRs, 8 RBI. Still a few innings left.
  16. I would hope so. But perhaps I'm guilty of reading too much into the the fact that the Brewers had choice of Brinson, Cordell, or Phillips in terms of AAA outfielders on the 40-man roster, and they went with the left-handed hitting option.
  17. Tossed away a game when leading 8-4 in the 8th, 8-5 in the 9th. Bullpen showed its lack of mettle today. Wouldn't mind seeing a change in the roster.
  18. Extra innings. Knebel's blown save is getting a lot of attention, but wasting the lead off double in the 8th inning needs to be brought forward. 3 Ks with a runner on 2nd seems to be a little too routine for this team.
  19. Magnificent outing by Nelson. Perfect time to put a crooked number on the scoreboard.
  20. Nice 2-1 win. Probably should have converted on a few more scoring chances. But it's great to see these type of games when solid pitching performances from starter and bullpen garner wins.
