  1. My gut tells me they will struggle mightily against Rasmussen, and probably end up 1-1. And then I remind myself they took down Skubal, Yamamoto, Snell, Glasnow etc. The lack of offense is unnerving, but they do seem to find a way more often than not this post season. Won't be a cakewalk, we're probably not going to be treated to a 7-2 win in this entire series, but they can beat Ras. Taking 2-0 down to the Trop would be huge
  2. Yeah I get that. It’s just that it feels like they have been winning on very thin ice so to speak.
  3. Can you explain that comparison? I only remember Lyle by name, but not reputation. Had a few baseball cards.
  4. Seems like it’s been a month since they strung a bunch of hits together
  5. Now the offense has to get motivated by the huge defensive plays
  6. It's a no doubter. I don't care how the rationale to put him on is sliced and diced, there is at least some sliver of it owing to sentiment. Be it for the "fairytale story". Be it for spurring the clubhouse like some kind of "win one for the gipper" move. Or be it simply to throw the fans a warm and fuzzy bone, there is more being taken into account that just his readiness. And because of that, he will at least make an appearance. I'll be super shocked if not.
  7. Same. That's an 11th hour kick to the groin. If Woody is good enough to go for the WS, he would likely have been just as good to go in the previous 2 series. If he is only used as an opener, and not expected to give them 4-5 solid, it seems like a token move. Regardless, I'll trust their decision. Wouldn't blame Patrick for feeling a bit of resentment though.
  8. I agree they mishandled this, but half a million isn’t significant in MLB revenues.
  9. What’s on my mind is how great it is to be the national media’s darling for a change. There is Brewers content galore to be consumed, and not just from “in house” or Brewers fan circles. They have forced the national talking heads to talk at length about a small market baseball team, pausing for a time, the love affair with all things LA. NY, west coast, east coast. Drink it in while you can.
  10. It means the planets finally aligned just right. Many of us have held the opinion, that MIL had little shot at reaching another WS, let alone - winning one, unless just the right amount of serendipity occurred. That's what it was going to take to overcome the insultingly tilted playing field allowed to the big market teams. That planetary alignment includes - cheap older vets having a career year (Bauers), cheap young guys blossoming simultaneously into true difference makers (Chourio, Mis, Henderson, Pratt, Lara), older but still cheap players emerging or rounding out into their full potential (Turang, Mitchell, Megill, Ashby), and a still affordable, anchor vet taking it up another notch (Contreras), affordable trade pickups making an impact (Hamilton, JoJo, Harrison, Drohan). Overall decent health, starting pitching aside was a factor too. By and large that it what has happened this year.
  11. How about that Hamilton! Murphy’s post game comments about having him bunt early in order to get good pitches to swing at later was great to hear
  12. Mitchell’s swing is a swat. Always amazed at how much pull and power he gets with it.
  13. Billy Joel’s “Pressure” is playing in L.A.’s head
  14. Hammy!!! !!! MVUP most valuable utility player
