  1. So much for the Shucks this year. How did they manage to win the first half? They have looked pretty weak every time I caught some innings the past couple of months. Missing Wilken and Adams for so long was part of it certainly.
  2. For all the exciting prospects in Biloxi, they sure are a little underwhelming offensively.
  3. Hope they finish with a bang! Going to have to skip some of the Brewer game and watch the Shucks!
  4. Doesn’t get much more gold glov- ier than what Ortiz has provided in my opinion.
  5. Sure wish these games were available on demand on MLBTV. I watched until the middle of the 4th before switching to the Brewer game. Nobody looked good at the plate up to that point.
  6. That is the intriguing part of it indeed. Maybe Pratt starts in MS and bumps up to Nash by June. Burke, Wilken, Adams, Pratt, Made, lara... that should be a fun team to watch as it currently stands though. Now if they would just get the tv production upgraded...
  7. Disappointing. Really figured he would at least start in Appleton, give me a chance to get over there for a game. Pena, Dinges, Fisher will keep it worth my while. They sure need some pitching though from what I've seen.
  8. Win a playoff series. It wasn’t long ago that I was resigned to viewing the season as a development year. My interest was in watching young guys mature, seeing who played hard when the going was rough. Now that they have exceeded those expectations, I have to remind myself of where I was at back in May, and temper my post season requirements accordingly. They have shown they can play with anybody, so I think at least one series win gets that recent monkey off their back.
  9. Both Vaughn and Hoskins provide more at the plate than Bauers. I’d sacrifice the (IMO) overrated significance of lefty/righty matchups for the two guys with the best contact, low K%. Maybe Vaughn does to Hoskins what Jansen seemingly has done to Contreras.
  10. All glove, almost no bat. You can tolerate that with your SS / 2B / up the middle defense, but it's hard to do the same with your CF. I like Blake, but that is an position that needs upgrading. I'll take a slight drop off in defense for a large upgrade in offensive production. That was supposed to be Mitchell, but obviously that hasn't panned out.
  11. Yeah, I was afraid of that. Think you might be right. Was hoping to catch Made and Pena at Appleton before they got bumped. Probably going to miss Made at least. Plenty of other interesting prospects there too. But who knows, some of them might get bumped up in the offseason as well.
  12. Is it your opinion that Made and Pena will begin the 2026 season in Biloxi, or get bumped up later in the year?
  13. That's a good perspective. If they can endure this unusual stretch with some of the tougher teams while missing key players, they should be able to compete with anything that comes their way in the playoffs. Hopefully they are being hardened and galvanized by a little adversity of schedule.
  14. I interpret the term to mean being singled to death regardless of quality of contact versus teams that depend on power hitters
  15. Yes, that has been a bit cheesy of a talking point. Practically every locker room is roses and chocolates when everything is going great. Nonetheless, there is something to not have a roster full of head cases and divas. Much easier to get along with and care about teammates you like and respect.
  16. It will be interesting to see how things play out for the middle infield if Pratt, Made, Pena all pan out in the next couple of years.
  17. Granted it's a small sampling, but every time I tuned into the Shuckers the past few months and catch a sporadic couple of at bats, (maybe a dozen from a handful of games) he seemed pretty average at the plate. Young guy, perhaps a tad overhyped due to the prospect ranking. I doubt they push him up this early. They have Monasterio to be the band aid. Pratt is nice to have in the system, but I wonder if he might not be trade bait with all the Made / Pena hysteria.
