  1. This is definitely not true. From the court hearings I watched, the judge actually used what the person blew as to the size of the fine they received.
  2. Yeah, I think in Wisconsin you get a ticket for refusing the breathalyzer. When I went to UWW, I always enjoyed watching the city court on tv on Thursdays... yeah, everyone else was out drinking and I was watching the city court. But that happened a couple times where a kid refused the breathalyzer and was automatically given a ticket. But man, if anyone is in Whitewater and is having a bad Thursday, I recommend tuning into that once. Some of the stuff the kids come up with is pure comedy!!
  3. I'll agree with those that say Tyson's Punch Out was the best game ever made. I still remember the first time I beat Tyson... I called every one of my friends to brag. Then whenever Genesis came out, I got rid of my NES and always missed Punch Out. But then in college (about 6 years ago, my last year in the dorms) I got a modified XBox, and was able to download every single NES, SNES, Genesis, Atari, Game Boy Advanced, and a few other systems games ever made onto my XBox. And Mike Tyson's Punch Out was the first game I went back to, partially to see if I still had the magic. And sure enough, I beat Tyson the 3rd time I played him and everyone on my floor was amazed. I was surprised at how many people loved Punch Out, but how few people had actually beaten Tyson. Nobody on my entire floor had ever beaten him. And like TracyThom... I remembered Tyson's code like I played it yesterday. But for me, the hardest guy in the whole game (besides Tyson) is the second Don Flamingo. For some reason he always throws off my timing, and is just a pain in the butt for me!!
  4. I don't know where I heard this, and maybe it is completely false, but is the MLB Network having Sunday night games too? Could we be on there?
  5. That doesn't mean Sheets doesn't need the Brewers. Have you heard any other teams looking into him besides Texas and the Yankees? Now that the Yankees have pulled out, that's bad news for Sheets. Even if he has not intention of returning to the Brewers, I'm sure he would still love the Brewers to jump in on the bidding and possibly driving his price up. If Texas is the only one bidding, he may be in for trouble.
  6. Yeah, I've had it for around 5 years now and I love it. Like homer said, it's also a 2 day turn around for me. The selection is great, and the website is very easy to navigate and find the movies you want. I also recommend it.
  7. I just looked on the Badgers site I sometimes post on, and found it there. Here is the LINK. I have no idea how credible it is, but the guy says it comes from a Padres board.
  8. I agree. I thought this episode was GREAT!! I laughed out loud multiple times.
  9. Ha... maybe we should add an incentive into CC's contract, that if he can talk the Yankees into taking Suppan he can earn an extra 8 mil per season over the next 2. CC: Yeah... Suppan is my best bud! If you trade for him, I would be glad to play in New York. Cashman: Really? I'll get right on that. I'll call you back after the deal is done. CC: Hello? Cashman: Well... we just acquired Jeff Suppan for you. The deal is done, and your contract is ready to sign. CC: I just got word the Brewers upped their offer by $16 million, so I think I'm going to take their offer. Sorry... Cashman: But you said...
  10. If the opt out clause is true, why wouldn't the Yankees just counter with an opt out clause in their contract?
  11. According to THIS article, the Brewers have shown some interest in signing Johnson. The Brewers are in the list who have shown "varying" interest. It says he is willing to sign a 1 year contract, so I personally would like this signing.
  12. I haven't read through this whole thread, just bits and pieces of it, so ignore me if this has been talked about already. Nobody is positive what the deal on the table is; but if the Brewers decide to trade Cameron to the Yankees, and the Yankees made these offers, would you rather: A. The Yankees offer Hughes or Kennedy and Cabrera for Cameron. Hughes and Kennedy are both young, highly touted players in the Yankees system who have struggled in the majors. But you're talking 1 year of Cameron in CF vs. the potential of Hughes/Kennedy. This would probably include signing a player like Kotsay or Baldelli... or trading for another CF. B. The Yankees offer Hughes or Kennedy plus a lower level prospect for Cameron and Hall. Again, we get a young starter for 1 year of Cameron and shed some salary with Hall. This would probably include us signing/trading for a 3B and CF. This deal would save us around $16 mil this season (and $8.4 next) to spend on that 3B and CF, plus other needs on the team. C. The Yankees offer Cabrera for Cameron and Suppan. This deal, there is a pretty drastic drop off from Cameron to Cabrera, but it also sheds us of the $25 mil we owe Suppan over the next 2 seasons. If this deal were to go down, we'd probably need to sign/trade for a CF and SP, but we'd have an extra $20 mil or so (I'm not sure of Cabrera's salary) to help improve the team. D. Decline all deals and keep Cameron in CF next season. These are just hypotheticals, I really have no idea what the Yankees are offering. But say each situation was on the table (maybe not those exact players coming in from the Yankees), what would you rather they do?
  13. Yeah, I agree with Marc. I loved going the day before the season started just for the fact that it seemed to get me ready for the season. Back in Miller Park after 6 months, looking at all the new things in the park, and watching some BP... it just got me ready for the season. As for the paying part, I can see them doing 1 or the other, either paying to get in and free autographs or free to get in and pay for autographs. For the last few years I've taken a couple under-privileged kids with me to this event. They are HUGE Brewers fans, but can not afford to go to games. They always had a blast. Last year paying wasn't bad because you got to see a game. Now it's $40-$45 for an event that doesn't include any onfield activities and an autograph. That's my biggest beef. Now I'm going to complain about autographs. It really bothers me that it is getting harder and harder to get free autographs. Players rarely sign autographs before games any more. They won't sign certain items or in certain places. I understand it's all about the money, but come on!! Do players who are making millions of dollars really need an extra $6250($25*250 at the event)? Players are becoming less and less accessible to the fans, and in my opinion, that's not a good thing. I think the Brewers do a pretty good job of making their players available to the fans with events like Autograph Fridays and the block parties. But I wonder what it would be like if the Brewers didn't do events like that. To me, the fans are the reason these guys are raking in tons of money to play a game. Many fans live their dreams through these players. I know I'd take a pay cut from what I'm making now to play baseball and get payed for it. And the players seem to more and more arrigant and less and less thankful to the fans. Sorry... I'll shut up now.
  14. I'm very surprised nobody has started a thread on this yet. Here is the link with the information. But to sum it up, it has been moved to January, they are charging $15 to get in, and up to $25 per autograph. I personally think this is stupid. Nothing can be free any more I guess.
  15. I don't know if you wrote it wrong or meant something different, but in your original post on the topic, it doesn't say anything about the new bench coach having success in the NL. To me, it says 2 things: 1. He's been a successful manager and 2. He has experience in the NL. I don't know if that's what Macha said, but if it is, I'd guess it to be Howe. He had success with the A's, and his most recent managerial job was with the Mets.

  17. I thought the Dwight/Andy stuff was great. I thought the Michael/Holly/Darrell trip was good. And I thought the Jim/Pam/brothers thing was awful. All in all, I thought it was a pretty good episode... but I am kind of getting sick of the Jim/Pam long distance thing. I like Jim and Pam together, but since Pam went to New York it has been kinda stupid. I did laugh though when Pam dressed up and nobody else did. I thought that was funny. I just hope they don't try the Michael/Holly long distance thing, but I'm going to miss Holly if she doesn't come back because I thought she was very good with Michael.
  18. I was listening to the 1250 post game show driving home from a game shortly after the Brewers traded for CC. CC was being interviewed after his latest W, and this book came up. CC and some Cleveland teammates have a story in the book. I don't think he mentioned which hotel they were staying at, but the story was: They were staying in a hotel, on a pretty high floor. They get into an empty elevator and push the L button for lobby. The doors proceed to close, and they head down. But the elevator stops on the next floor down, the doors open, but nobody is there. They feel a gentle gust of wind leave the elevator, then a gentle gust come on the elevator. This happens on the next 5-6 floors, and they get creeped out and decide to use the stairs.
  19. Thanks guys! So is it worth anything? Or is it just a cool keep sake?
  20. A friend of mine has a baseball signed by the entire 1958 USC baseball team, and was wondering if it had any worth? I just did a little research myself, and found out USC won the College World Series in 1958. I can't find a roster of the 1958 team, but from just doing a quick search it appears the 2 big names from the team were coach Rod Dedeaux and player Ron Fairly. There may be other bigger names on the team, but like I said, I couldn't find a roster. Does anyone know what this may be worth? The ball is in great shape for a ball from that era. Thanks.
  21. Is it just me, or does ESPN call Doug Melvin, Bob Melvin in EVERY article they use his name? Good grief!! Figure it out. It's worse than Richie Weeks.
  22. I just got Verizon High Speed Internet, and now my file sharing program won't work. I'm assuming it's a firewall somewhere, but I can't figure out how to shut it off. Can someone help me with this?
  23. I don't think they should put up a banner for the Wild Card. In my opinion, they weren't really a winner of anything. They didn't win the division. They didn't win the national league pennant. I guess it would be similar to the Bucks hanging a banner for making the playoffs as an 8 seed, or the Packers hanging a banner for a Wild Card playoff appearance. They didn't win anything so, in my opinion, the '82 banner should fly solo. But do I think the management will put up a banner? Yep.
  24. About 25 minutes after the game, they announced the players were not coming out. I stayed for another 5 or so minutes, before security started kicking people out. Sheets was the only one that came out. He didn't do much... just walked out of the dugout in his street clothes and left through the bullpen I believe.
  25. Anyone else get on on the "Last Tickets Available" offer? I just got an email saying it was my last chance to get tickets, so I just went to check what they had. I was surprised, they had tickets all over the park. I already had tickets to game 4 in the terrace, but I upgraded to 223. I was pumped about that. They went REALLY fast though. Probably 10 minutes and they were all gone. Anyone else get in on it?
